Because Mari was posting with an alternate name, Garnet. She was lying about who she was.

I explained that above. Atropos comes over and uses my internet. I failed to notice that she hadn't logged off. And no, Onyx, my alter ego on this board is "Buddha". Other people have alter ego's of their own. I'll say no more.

I thought that was flippant.

Why is Atropos' location listed as California if she lives in Colorado?

In addition, Atropos posted in a previous post something about "from trendy southern california" about playgrounds and some such. That doesn't sound like Colorado to me.

Edited to add:

Delurking again to post News Flash from trendy southern California: Fights on the playground as a form of entertainment are passe' after age 5. The hip 6 year old pulls the wings off flies in his spare moments.

From what I can tell, Mari, you appear to be living on some sort of government hand out program at the moment and want to get off it.
If Atropos was posting at your house, this would not have been worded like this. Nice try. I'm not buying it.

No that was flippant. Just shut up now.

garnet 12-06-2004 01:36 PM

I think I'll go back to reading about who pees in the shower :(

OK, yes, Flippant=Atropos. It was her idea of a joke. Flippant's/Atropos' computer is down and she sometimes comes over to use mine. However I am not Flippant and I'm tired of that accusation, as well. If I were Flippant I could have her jump right in here, but she's at work and unlike some of you, she works at work and doesn't mess around on the net.

garnet 12-06-2004 01:52 PM

Maybe this is something we should ask Flippant, but why would she feel the need to create an alter-ego in California who pretends not to know Mari? I'm not trying to beat this to death, but I just don't get it.

marichiko 12-06-2004 01:58 PM

Flippant should really speak for herself. I think she wanted to create someone who was her polar opposite in every possible way. I suppose she might explain more when she next views this thread. Or maybe not. I can't speak for her. If you'd like Buddha to give a few comments that can be arranged. BTW, you'll notice that Buddha has avoided this thread like the plague.

lumberjim 12-06-2004 02:17 PM

HMMM.....verrrrrry interesting.

dar, you're right. I have been a bit nasty. sorry about that.

I admit it's easier for me to empathize with Mari than it may be for others. I understand how having a chronic illness can affect all aspects of your life - including your behavior. And some people need to talk it out to get a handle on it. Certainly a person's health affects their life much more than who got elected president, and we haven't cut short any of those threads.

Boy, I can relate.

I think you hit that nail dar, square on the head.

Elspode 12-06-2004 02:29 PM

Still trying to understand your rationale, LJ...why apologize to Dar?

OnyxCougar 12-06-2004 02:41 PM

Actually Mari, your story doesn't hold water for another reason: Atropos' Last post.

According to the member's list, Atropos' last post was at 12:55 am today.
According to the members list, Marichiko's last few posts were, in order,
1:08am, 1:43pm, and 2:17pm.

If it was a case of "she didn't log out of her screen name", as you suggest, that mistake would have been on the 1:08am post today, not one 3 posts after, this afternoon.

Hmmm. Again, Nice try.

dar512 12-06-2004 02:48 PM

I'm confused about others being confused. On my machine post #174 in this thread has Marichiko's name on it. Jinx's screenshot has post #174 attributed to Atropos. Can you change the author of a post after the fact? If not, how come I see Marichiko and Jinx sees Atropos?

elSicomoro 12-06-2004 02:49 PM

It could have been that Atropos was just checking her messages this afternoon.

As fishy as this smells, I don't think it's out of the realm of possibilities for Flippant and/or Mari to use multiple screen names...because they're weird like that. :)

And they wouldn't be the first ones to do so...the owner of this board has a second screen name, though he hasn't used it recently, from what I've seen.
