W.HI.P 01-07-2008 10:28 PM

You've obviously not been following this thread.
When I make a prediction, it looks something like this:
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
San Diego Chargers @ Indianapolis Colts(-7.5)

The Winner of this game is gonna be in the Superbowl!
I would not be suprised at all if that team was the San Diego Chargers!

Bet on the Chargers!!!
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

I made no such prediction on January 3rd.
I did not recommend any bets on the wild card week.
Not at this site, or any other site.

My recommendation specifically to any one who knows me, was:
Wait for the AFC/NFC Semi-finals and Finals to place your money.
This time has now come.
And there is a better bet than the one above!
.....will post soon

classicman 01-07-2008 10:34 PM

How did the stinkin redskins lose that game?

W.HI.P 01-07-2008 10:41 PM

I think it was that missed field goal.
The Redskins had this gigantic momentum boost,.
Anyone who was watching. could see it.
That momentum was gone after the missed 30 yard field goal miss.

If Sean was playing, it would have been different.

classicman 01-07-2008 10:44 PM

Really don't think Sean had anything to do with it - He wasn't kicking that field goal. But the air just seemed to come out of them and they completely fell apart. there were enough leaders on that team for someone to step the EFF up.

why, whatever could it be? giants over the cowboys, mayhap?

classicman 01-07-2008 11:09 PM

nah that team playin the patsies.

Actually, I think you are right LJ as the Giants have already lost to the Boys twice this season and its extremely rare to lose to the same team 3x in one season. On the other hand there is that point spread thing to consider.

LJ LJ LJ, looks like you haven't been following this thread close enough.
Think $$$ ....free money.
Profit, the whole years boiled down to these next two weeks.
They will take the money.
I've said nothing othe than that since the start of the year.
All the money's on the Patriots.
They'll take it this week, and then next week they'll clean house.
Looks like the superbowl's gonna be played again, straight up!

My money's been on the Chargers and Colts since week 1.

The New England Patriots will not win the superbowl!

The Giants vs Bucs game is up in the air.
The Chargers will obviously beat the weakest team in the playoffs Titans.
However a wager on the -9.5 is unwise.
The Chargers will rest during this game no matter how absurd that sounds, its the correct way to do it when you're on a superbowl run and have to face the rested Colts and possible Patriots in the next few weeks.

That first line looks like a prediction to me. You may not have given numbers but when you say XXXX is obviously going to happen I would think that falls under the category of prediction. Anyway, relax, I'm just messing with you.

The title of this thread reads Betting Tips.
In this thread, All betting recommendations read:
Bet on the....

Now on with this weeks tips:
NFL Divisional
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Jacksonville Jaguars @ New England Patriots(-13)
This is the 2nd best bet of the year.
The best bet being next weeks bet against the Patriots in the AFC final.
Of course that would mean that the Patriots have to win this game in order for that to happen. And impressivley they will win, but just under the spread for profit purposes.

Bet on the Jaguars!!!
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
San Diego Chargers @ Indianapolis Colts(-8.5)
The two best teams in the NFL clash way too early.
The winner of this game will be in the superbowl as the true favorite!
The Chargers are the better team at this time.
The game is however being played in Indianapolis, which evens it out a bit.
I expect the Chargers offence to keep Peyton off the field.
Low scoring game, The Chargers might pull it off!

Bet on the Chargers!
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
New York Giants @ Dallas Cowboys(-7.5)
This one's gonna be really close.
7.5 points is not realistic to one who's been watching lately.

Bet on the Giants
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Seattle Seahawks @ Green Bay Packers(-8.0)
The two worst teams left in the playoffs, lol, and one of them will be playing in the NFC Final.
Seattle really is a bad team, and Holmgreen , and even worse Head Coach.
This is clearly not close to being a good bet as the Packers aren't much of a team, but they should outlast this silly seahawks team.

Bet on the Packers

W.HI.P 01-10-2008 01:24 AM

Ok, hold your horses on the tips given in the above post!
I have info on the Patriots-Jaguars game that things aren't as they seemed at all.
The money wagered so far is pretty much close to even on the spread.
So....
I retract my prediction on the Jaguars-Patriots game
...for the time being.

the patriots are just head and shoulders above the league. they score at will, and the defense seems to have 14 guys on it. you're inffrigginsane if you seriously think they wont represent the afc....srsly.

Now that kind of comment is exactly what i wa looking for as an example of impression the AFC semi would leave.
Everyone who bet on the Patriots against the Jaguars, lost their money.
Everyone who lost their money on the Patriots are ready to bet all their money on them again.
Everything is going as planned.

YOU LJ, must be inffriginsane iof you think THEY are just gonna hand all those billions of dollars to the masses rather than pocketing it.

In fact? The Patriots will lose in the AFC final to a superior team.
Both the Colts and the Chargers are superior to the Brady bunch.

Nervous about your brokeback mountain boys much LJ?
Giants are in town.

Last year, I said that if the Giants had any other QB than oung Manning, they would be in the NFC final.
Well this year, Eli Manning is anothe Quarterback than he was last year.

All I need is for them to beat that spread.
This is turning out to be a better year than last year($$$ wise)

lol Mac and Classicman....thx
Fact: Based on higher wagering, this season's economical gain is greater than it was last season at this time.
These first 2 weeks of 2008 has been the 3rd greatest economical gain of my life.

The call is plain and simple, the Chargers will win the game.
There is no doubt about it.
The bet on the spread is a joke.
This game reminds me of the Colts-Ravens game last year.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

New York Giants @ Green Bay Packers(-7.0)

We have to look into this game a little close to see the picture a little more clear.
The Giants defence was built to sack with their amazing pass-rush.
Unlike the Cowboys, the Packers have a tough time protecting Favre against a normal team.
Result: Favre will get sacked!

The Giants are having a very serious TE problem, so Yes, Eli will also be under pressure and will also get sacked!

The Giants will have a clear advantage in the running game which will show a lot more than against the Cowboys.
Eli has really stepped it up this year as well.

The Giants can win this game!

Bet on the Giants.

I actually wagered them, at -7.5 and 14.5, but let them be as they are.

deadbeater 01-17-2008 01:07 AM

Um WHIP, a little optimistic with these upset bets? Brett Farve thrives in cold weather better than any other QB in history, even better than Bart Starr, while Eli almost never adjusted to the cold.

W.HI.P 01-17-2008 10:36 AM

I don't consider the Giants beating the Packers an upset at all.
I think it would be an upset if the Packers beat the superior Giants.
Its possible, but highly unlikely.

robsterman1 01-17-2008 12:37 PM

The Packers know snow very well and got it down to a science how to use the snow to their advantage. So it will be a mightly close game and can go one way or the other. Perhaps you need to check the latest line on the Packers.

W.HI.P 01-17-2008 01:05 PM

The man with the cane will get sacked.
So will Eli.
In this match-up, the Giants will have a bettter running game than the Packers will, resulting in a low scoring game that is in the advantage of the Giants.
I can't see the Giants killing the Packers, but they are a better team.
And yes, snow obviously favours the Packers.
Add the fact that they're at home makes this game a very interesting one to watch as it will be close.

The bet of course with the huge pillow of 7.5 points making it a very wise bet.

Not as wise as the Chargers bet, but very good to hook up with.
Easy bet on the Giants+7.5

W.HI.P 01-17-2008 01:12 PM

I'm sorry, but umm, did anyone believe at any time that the Packers were better than the Cowboys?
I didn't think so because if the Cowboys were here you'd have them as odds on favorites.
Great teams show up in the playoffs.
The Giants were simply better than the Cowboys despite the game being played in Dallas.

The main weapon of the Giants is their pass rush.
Against the Cowboys OL and Romo's fast release, it was not effective till the late 3rd period.

The Packers offence is based on the Passing game which favours the Giants defencive style of play.
However the Packers OL is not nearly as good as the Cowboys was and Favre not as quick as young Romo.
The result is that Favre will get sacked, which will force the Packers to run the ball more than they should.
The Packers running game cannot compare to the 3 RB running game of the Giants.
This is a miss-match.

W.HI.P 01-19-2008 03:15 PM

PROPS

New York Giants @ Green Bay Packers

1)Base: QB Sacks made 4.5 .................Bet on the Over = 1.80

Combine in tickets of 3 with the following:

2)Rushing Yards-Brandon Jacobs 78.5 ...Bet on the Over = 1.75
3)Rushing Yards-Ryan Grant 96.5 ..........Bet on the Under = 1.80
4)First half points - 20.5 .......................Bet on the Under = 1.70
5)Second half points - 20.5 ...................Bet on the Under = 1.70

Total = 6 bets

123-pays = 5.67
124-pays = 5.35
125-pays = 5.35
134-pays = 5.50
135-pays = 5.50
145-pays = 5.20

Bet $1000 on each bet = $6.000

Win the base and any two wins = $5.200 $5670
Wn the base and any three, wins = $15.900 $16.670
Win the base and all four, wins = $32.570

Defencive gambling is the only way to go here.
I strongly disagree with any offencive style of betting.

deadbeater 01-19-2008 11:22 PM

Ok, WHIP, so you rationalized the Giants bet (I'm a Giants fan myself).

So, you think SD will make the game close, or will the Chargers win outright?

EDIT: So you figured that SD will beat the Cheaters, er Patriots outright? Er how, if Jacksonville couldn't do it?

W.HI.P 01-19-2008 11:49 PM

Come Febuary 3rd, I don't see why it would be suprising to any NFL fan to see:
LaDanian Tomlinson
Anotnio Gates
Shawne Merriman and Shaun Phillips.

winning the Superbowl
They all deserve to wear the ring.

deadbeater, what I am saying is that they're gonna take the money!.
The money wagered on the Patriots -14.5.
Also, I don't see any reason for them not to take the very large sum of long term bets this week.

Jacksonville? Who TF is Jacksonville?
How can anyone compare the Jaguars to the Chargers?

Look, Peyton Manning would have beat Tom Brady.

The Colts didn't get a chance to cause they clashed against a superior team.
Lets not forget the CB's Quentin Jammer and Antonio Cromartie. Has nobody been watching?
The San Diego's defence is well equipped to stop The Patriots offence.

Their offence? LaDainian Tomlinson, Michael Turner and Darren Sproles, make up a hell of a running game.

What makes you think that the Patriots will be able to stop these guys?

New York Giants vs New England Patriots [-10+]

take the points and the "just happy to be there" Giants. Everything tells me to take the Pats as they will finish with an undefeated season and probably do it with a 20+ point victory. Since I am always wrong.... take the giants.

my G*d if they freakin win this game, I'll never hear the end of it from my NY relatives.

...and to think there's still one more week of free money!

Sure enough, they won't learn.

Looks like the wanna-be-like-his-brother has finally found his own path, and now an easy game away from winning the superbowl!
Any thoughts on the superbowl?
Or should I wait for your next (highly anticipated) entry?

Lumberjim, I can only assume that you wanted to see the old man with the cane in the superbowl.
Sorry for your loss.

What THEY have in the New England Patriots is a money maker..
THEY've got every single MOFO on the planet brainwashed.
Every single MOFO is placing their mone every week on the Patriots and loosing their money, why in hell should they stop that at this time?
They still have the money on the Patriots spread to collect and if their greedy enough(THEY are), they'll pick up all the long term bets on the Patriots winning it all.

Me? I'm just betting on the masses loosing their money every week.
Its what i've been doing for the past 10 years.
This year is simply easier cause we've got a guarentee every week.
Its a game, its a show.
Its also a 200 billion dollar industry.
As I've said before, take a scale and weigh things out.

Detroit Red Wings @ Anaheim Ducks

The game is tommorow night, but I can't understand why the Red Wings are favorites here.
Detroit would be playing the 2nd day in a row while the Ducks will be rested.
Anaheim is a better team and will clearly play the well rested Giguere.
I don't usually recommend hocksy games, but at 1.85, you got to take it!

Bet on the Anaheim Ducks!

Ok, WHIP, now you are way out of your field. Detroit playing three games straight will still defeat the Ducks.

The Detroit Red Wings.
I called it 2 years ago when they lost in the plaoffs to Pronger's Oilers.
They were playing old fashion hockey that was just not gonna work in the then new NHL rules.

I called them as the #2 ranked team last year behind the Ducks as they proved to be the Stanley Cup champions toughest opponent.
This year? Forget about it, they don't stand a chance.

One's gotta realize that Detroit has been playing in a division without any opponents... think about it for a second.
Chicago, St.Louis, Nashville and Columbus.
If you can't see that, you're blind.
Of course, Detroit holds Lidstrom, and a run of other top notch defenders, but when it comes down to it... either against the Ducks or the Sharks, in the playoffs, where it counts, they will lose.
Not only will they lose, but they will also get hurt, as they cannot match those two tough mof-ing teams.
And Hasek, although a legend, is starting to remind me of Favre.
Not too much time left.

WIll defo be a close game between the Giants and the Pats. My prediction is that the game will even be decided by a field goal.

I feel that the Giants only won the playoff against the Pack by luck. If the Giants did not intercept Brett's pass in the OT they'd most likely would have lost as then the Packers would been in range for a field goal and then won the game.

It will be close knob.

Favre's been intercepted more than any other quarterback in the history of the NFL.
I'm suprised the didn't sack him or pick him off more.
The Packers were outplayed.
