This is the point in time where one can start making money on European Soccer. The Champions league is coming down to its end. Teams involved in the competition, when competing in their own leagues usually concentrate on staying healthy, and taking it easy. A win is not a must. Chelsea has little chance and Milan has no chance of taking their leagues so their hopes are all pinned on the CL. Milan plays arsenal 72 hours later so I expect they will rest their top players. Good calls there.
Inter and Real Madrid can't afford to slip up in their leagues so the game will still be a priority for them, I'd expect them to pull out a result. They'll each rest key players but they'll still have enough in them I think. |

Sevilla's win certainly didn't win me over in either category. However Chelsea and Roma can save my week economically. So PSV won (5.00)
And Bayern Won big. Those two teams IMO, are the two elite teams remaining in this UEFA cup. I'd be suprised if a team other than one of them wins it. After persistant requests, I'm going to add some NHL picks, although they are generally, highly unpredictable. Motives are hard to determine. Those who place money on those particular teams who need to win, consistently lose money. The reason, is that those teams who seem to need to win, have opposite motives. In the NHL, all factors are considered when positioning teams for the playoffs and for the upcoming draft. Washington Capitols vs Pittsburgh Penguins This is the game that will indicate wether or not the Capitols are aiming at this year or not. Based on the weak Eastern conference, I can only assume that the forces that run this Washington team, view this year as a possibility. This game is certainly a preview of Eastern conference finals to come in the next couple years. The Capitols have to win this home game! With Foote injured as well, Colorado's season can come to an end. Sakic is great, but it would have been different with Forsberg. With Washington, I think its for the best that they don't enter this years playoffs. The Capitols will make the Playoffs next year, and the year after that, they are contenders along with the Penguins for representing the East in the Stanley Cup. It will be a very exciting time in Washington at the end of this decade! I hear many people assume that the LA Kings are the worst team in hockey. This is far from reality. Toronto is not looking like their improving... the only thing that brings them closer is the weakening of the two greater teams. The one and only team in this division that will improve is the Tampa Bay Devil Rays . Kazmir and Shields make up a great 1-2. and the bullpen is actually stronger: T. Percival (Closer) A. Reyes <<----This guy is an ace G. Glover D. Wheeler <<----this #4 shows how deep this bullpen is. Upton, Pena and Crawford, make this team actually capable of competing for top spot in this division.... if not this year, then the next, and furthermore. How interesting it will look with Tampa Bay above Boston in this division. The White Sox made some key improvments, that will put some serious runs up on the scoreboard. The Bullpen however does not look as promising. Things are very exciting in Minnesota as well, despite loosing Johan. That bullpen is cetainly one to envy. Last but not least, the Kansas City Royals. Improved, no doubt, but their gonna need to improve a lot more in the years to come if they wanna compete with the teams in their division. Vladimir Guerrero, Torri Hunter, Gary Mathews Jr., Garret Andersons(DH), Reggie Willits and Rivera make up the richest outfield in baseball. Lets not forget the fastest throwing closer in the game, RP Fransisco Rodriguez. Mr.Shields will be setting him up, and Spier for the 7th. The team is elite and World series prone. Over the weekend we have some very interesting games. Golden State, Dallas and Denver are fighting for the 2 final play-off spots in the Western Conference. Golden State play in Denver on Saturday and then host Dallas on Sunday. The way the Warriors have been playing of late, i would not be suprised if they won both games. I am so upset for the Warriors who lost against Denver.
I'm still extremely optimistic that this team, not only will make the play-offs, but also will advance further more, if of course, they can avoid the Lakers. I also did not expect UCLA to reach this far, thats for sure. Yes, of course it was a weak bracket. Maybe it was a mistake to reach in that bracket when we had Kansas to ride on. See the thing is that I don't much care about the rankings you use. They're for guys like you who make money on the games, and that is cool, but it doesn't matter at the supporter level. I would rather have Arsenal rank 4th on your list every year for the next 100 and play the entertaining style they do if the other option is to be number 1 and play boring percentage ball like Chelsea. Of course, I'd like to see them ranked #1 AND playing the entertaining style they do and I believe they will.
Before the season began everyone wrote them off as a team of too young nobody's. They surprised us all by making it to within 2 minutes and a piss poor referee decision of making the semifinals of the CL and they sat atop the Premier League for most of the season. At the end the squad was just too thin to cover for the injuries. Van Persie has missed all but 10 games of the season with injury Rosicky the same Eduardo broken leg Those three should have been the top scorers for the season. Fabergas, Flamini,Hleb, Diaby, Sagna, Gallas, Toure have all had extended absences due to injury. That is 10 of the starting 11. Chelsea or Manchester United would also be in trouble if they dealt with that. Wenger must stay. A few players must go and a few need to be bought. There's always next year. |

Its Europe's rankings. The Champions league winner is the #1 ranked team in Europe. Period. The Finalist would be #2, and so fourth. If PSV won the CL, they would be the #1 ranked team in Europe, and respectivly in Holland. Even if PSV were to be relegated in their local competition, they would clearly and undoubtably be ranked Holland's #1 team. The same applies for Italy, England, Germany, Spain, etc etc. We'll use this year as a scenario... Say Liverpool beats Man Utd in the Champions league final. The only way that the Flyers can make this remotely close is by taking out a few stars of the Canadiens. You certainly have a few players that are capable of intentionally injuring another. Philadelphia will be outskated and outscored. |
