what's with the 35 lb dumbells? hubby's or are you bulking up?

LabRat 04-06-2007 08:46 AM

Heh, hubby bought the weight set. I just requested the 3-15lb sets.
I prefer a more feminine look, thanks :D

Actually, I found the best my arms ever looked was when I was doing a ton of swimming while training for the sprint triathlon I did in 2000. Great definition, without being bulky. (OMG, was that 7 years ago???)

Well Steve-O, have you made any progress in deciding about a treadmill??

SteveDallas 04-13-2007 09:57 AM

No. Thought I appreciate the advice (and pics--looks like you have some nice equipment there!) anything we get would be on the cheap end of the scale--I've been keeping an eye on craigslist.

I dunno though... Mrs. Dallas has gone to the YMCA twice this week. We may need to reevaluate what we're going to do.

There are some resale places around here (Play-it-Again sports) that re-sell equipment, maybe there's a place like that too around you.

The most importnant thing is to buy something that you'll USE.

Start with some new shoes and clothes, and 'reward' yourself with new equipment as you stay on track. That's sort of how I got such nice stuff...I used my old stuff until I was convinced that it was worth spending the big $$s on nice stuff. The bonus on dropping serious coin, is that I feel too guilty about spending the money to let it sit there collecting dust ;) Works both ways. It'll be quite awhile before I make up what I would have spent on gym memberships, but it's harder to talk myself out of a workout when it's in my basement vs. across town...
