My son-in-law needs one. It's him and five females. But their house is too small. Maybe I'll suggest the garage, but it gets awfully hot in there in the summer!

My dad retired last year, earlier than he wanted to even though he's 69 years old (some of you may remember that awful story) so he spends a lot of time in his man cave. He put a shop on the back of the garage some years ago, and is currently making things out of the old timey barn wood from my brother's old barn. If not for that out of the house place, my mom might have killed him months ago. :)

My brother, in the meantime, had a nice new barn built and has already hosted man parties (poker, beer, you know) and I believe as the only man in the house of a wife and three young girls he will learn to lean on his man cave even more in the coming years.

Old barn-wood is the greatest thing ever. You can even use it as panelling inside your house, to add an old-timey feel to your modern structure.

Yeah, he's done some interesting work. I say "Dad, you're an artiste!"

I think everyone needs a sanctuary, man or women.

Coincidentally, that tv show was on last night with an episode I had not seen. The host is still a jerk.

Sounds like us. My husband, me and 2 daughters. Estrogenville LOL. It gets 115 here during the summer, so I guess we'll get him a portable evaporative cooler for the garage

Everyone needs some space. Best Beloved and I are frequently in different rooms in the house but I couldn't say one is specifically his or my room - it depends on what we're doing. We're lucky enough to have enough space to watchTV/surf the 'nets/sit comfy and quiet and read or listen to music without disturbing each other.

I have an office (12x12ish) , and supposedly a garage(12x20ish) but the garage is where Carol stores her gardening stuff , her painting stuff , etc,,,,,, She has a room 14x20ish and a shed 14 x24ish , her room is full of doll stuff , and her shed is so full that you have to know witch door to open to find the path thru the stuff !!!
But My office is MY room , ( even though she has All her fileing and papers in here, mostly all over the floor since the first of the year )

A friend made this short video to celebrate his girlfriend's parent's 50th anniversary. Note where they go at the end.
