There was a class at my high school called "early childhood development" and I tried to take it all four years but it wasn't offered to freshman the first year (typo in the catalog), then it was full for a year, then I couldn't fit it into my schedule, and then senior year a bunch of nasty freshman girls took it with me and the teacher had 0 control over the class. So I traded out of it because I couldn't handle listening to them SCREAM ABOUT THEIR SEX LIVES AND ALL THE FUN DRUGS THEY DID LAST WEEKEND while the teacher was trying to lecture. Blech. So I'm excited to finally be able to take this class, lol.

Also, well done on keeping quiet lol. I think it would have just bubbled up and out if it had been me :P

It was VERY difficult to keep quiet, I actually had to tell my Meme (mom's mom) the day that I applied and had to swear her to secrecy because I needed her to tell me the distance to the college, since I'm not living on campus the application required me to put in the driving distance. So her and I got together in the middle of the week and had a little excited celebration in the car, and it was really hard for her to keep the secret too.

It just seemed like every time I thought about going back to school, and talked it over with a friend or family member they ended up talking me out of it. "Oh, well if you're going for that job keep in mind you'll be stuck with doing this, and this, and this, and this...." Every job has pros and cons, and I consider all the ones I can think of before I make the decision, I don't need that much negativity when I'm trying to better my life... so I just got up one morning and applied. Had been thinking of going in this direction for a while, so I did. All by myself. Lol.

Seriously though, congratulations Razz.

Don't worry Bruce, once I graduate, I can go to kindergarten every day...for the rest of my life...... :D

My mother-in-law specializes in early childhood education; it's a fascinating subject.

I can never tell if Flint is serious, or pulling my leg...so Thanks!

Education is a companion which no misfortune can depress, no crime can destroy, no enemy can alienate, no despotism can enslave. At home, a friend, abroad, an introduction, in solitude a solace and in society an ornament. It chastens vice, it guides virtue, it gives at once grace and government to genius. Without it, what is man? A splendid slave, a reasoning savage.
Then explain MBAs? :eyebrow:

Shawnee123 06-11-2008 10:16 AM

heeheee...things were different in the late 1600s.

Let's edit for modernity:

"It chastens vice (for some people,) it guides virtue (but not for everyone...)"

Oh yeah, that's DEFINITELY what Razz needs. She's been involved in way too much vice.

Shawnee123 06-11-2008 10:33 AM

Razz, is the school fully accredited, meaning can you take all your credits with you if you transfer to a 4 year institution after completing your 2 year program?

I know it probably is, and I'm sure you've thought of that, but I'm surprised at the number of students we get from some schools who were never told their credits would not transfer.

Sorry it's my job that makes me think of these things. I just wanted to bring it up, in case.

Back to the happiness. :)

Clodfobble 06-11-2008 11:11 AM

Congratulations, Razz!

Razzmatazz13 06-11-2008 09:22 PM

Honestly I had no idea that had an affect on the credit transfer...but I'm pretty sure I'll be ok with this school...I'll check that bit at admissions when I talk with them again.

So thanks shawnee :D

My mind reels at the prospect of so many young impressionable libidoes that will swell in your pulchitrudinous presence.

Way to go, Razz. We have programs here in KC that would employ you, BTW.

I'm just sayin'.

Urbane Guerrilla 06-12-2008 02:03 AM

Good for you! I bet you've wanted this a long time.

BigV 06-12-2008 09:39 AM
