It's not so much the sound quality I'm concerned with -- what with road noise and all. It's reception of stations that currently are too staticky to listen to, like WYPR in Baltimore, or secondary digital channel, like WAMU-3, that I don't have access to right now.

You heard them bragging about that station all last week too, didn't you?

Naw, I switched over to the scratchy WYPR. I gave them $750 last year (and will do so again this year); I don't feel obligated to listen to the damn pledge drive!

You can put in Sirius/XM (for a lot less than that per year) and get two crystal-clear NPR stations.

I love having sirius... Hate being without in this rental.

Pie 02-22-2010 10:26 AM

No, WAMU's a charitable contribution -- getting XM won't remove that obligation. I prefer local programming. It's the only way I find out anything about my area.

glatt 02-22-2010 10:41 AM

So you're the one not buying a newspaper and letting the Washington Post decline!

Not sure if all the humor will translate from UK to US but this is my son's view on UK style of customising a car

I got hubby XM for Christmas. Now I want it too. I can never find anything worth listening to. I also covet the GPSr I got him the year before. We trade off and I get it whenever I have a road trip, but I think we need our own. Though he needs it more than I do. ;)

I love the GPS in my iphone. Follow the little blue dot!

 Is Chris Cohen your son? he's a riot!

monster 03-04-2010 10:30 AM

(from the Chris Cohen channel. In hindsight probably should have been put in the humor thread as it has nothing to do with cars, but.....)
