Time for the one sentence at a time story on the good mother in Stoker's Dracula. I'll start.

Dracula sat by his fire roasting the best mother he had ever eaten.

When out in the cemetery there arose such a clatter, he sprung from the grave to see what was the matter.

His dear mama's breast was all covered in blood
pre-condimented too, he thought -it's all good

Then up in the sky she saw a full moon,
Its wasn't her son, It was a big goon.

Is that what's bothering you, bunkie? :comfort:

Hey, isn't that ironic.

I just finished writing a paper about that very thing. :D

Seriously!

I did!

Can you PM it to me? I have to give a seminar on the thesis submission procedure and experience and it's been so long I can't remember my own. Except the bit about living on take away.
I think Bruce is right. Study has been a identity-defining theme for you, and perhaps also a cover for avoiding other things, losing either is a big event that probably you subconsciously want to avoid. Hence the procrastination and self-sabotage.

yeah - I've defined myself as a student for so long...even when I was sick. Yikes. Big identity crisis.

You'd like me to PM you my paper? or...? The process of thesis submission? I wrote a paper proposal with an annotated bibliography - is that what you mean?

It seems like the title word to this thread gains another 'A' every time I look at it.

Bri...one really super good thing about finishing school is the absence of that stupid anxiety!

Course there will be other sources for anxiety afterward, but I do not miss that one in the least bit. Christmas Holiday and Spring Break always sucked for me.

I recommend leaving your house. The worst procrastination I have done is falling to the traps of the familier. So I play a game, troll the cellar, ect.

Leave.

Go somewhere where you can sit, think and write. A library , a coffee shop, a dinner, a hooka bar. What ever helps you think indulge in it.

For me it is a shower and caffeine, so I will take a 40 min shower and drink a few pots of coffee.( I can't write before 2AM I don't know why). This works for me and I hope you find what will work for you.

Those are the As leaching from Bri's grade because she keeps putting it off.

If I can write papers on these books:
The Book of Not
Difficult Daughters

You can write about Dracula. It's MUCH more interesting.

Those were haaaard! :p

Congratulations on your graduation!!

I have a paper due Monday. I don't get the benefit of graduating. Just the stress- I may be getting a B in this class if my paper for Monday isn't perfect.

Do it like me, give yourself a reward for work done. Yes people, I am that childish sometimes.....yes yes....... :) I devise rewards for things that deserve no reward....I'm just that way.

xoxoxoBruce 03-14-2010 12:00 AM

I'm all for rewarding yourself, it's the punishing yourself I can't endorse... leave that to me.

You've been naughty haven't you, yes you have you little vixen. ;)
