oooo - Nigella is beautiful. Richlevy has a thing for her IIRC.

I don't care if her arse is big. She's the one I would follow home. (And have a slice of chocolate cheesecake and a coffee with) :)

all those "health" people just seem scared of death if you ask me. It happens. Even to really, really healthy people.

I know this one guy who was a health nut and he ate and drank all the right stuff and did meditation and then JOGGED (YUCK!) every day.

He was out jogging one day and got hit and killed by a car. It happens.

Remember Jim Fixx?

In his books and on television talk shows, he extolled the benefits of physical exercise and how it considerably increased the average life expectancy. The cover of Jim Fixx' book, The Complete Book of Running, featured Fixx's muscular legs against a red cover. The book sold over a million copies.
... and then...

On July 20, 1984, Fixx died at the age of 52 of a fulminant heart attack, after his daily run on Vermont Route 15 in Hardwick.

The woman on the left seems really ragged.

I dunno...I smoked for 34 years (quit 2 years ago) and drank like a fish for a handful of them (sober 11 years). Since quitting smoking, I've begun eating healthy, organic and natural, and taken up running and lifting weights.

This webcam shot was taken 1 month before my 51st birthday (in Aug). Do I look older or younger than 51?

Younger for sure. Nice to see you Stormie.

DanaC 11-06-2011 01:12 PM

Yeah...I tink their looks are a basic reflection of their inner beauty. Nigella seems like a nice lass. Not-Dr Gillian McKeith is a witch.

DanaC 11-06-2011 01:14 PM

Oops: missed Stormie's post there.

You look younger than 51. At a guess I'd have said somewhat on the younger side of my contemporary. Mid to late 30s.

Trilby 11-06-2011 02:54 PM

Stormie - you look way younger than 51 (not that 51 is old - :D

you look wonderful. I think smoking is probably the most ageing thing around - next to drinking and being bulimic. If you quit though, you can regenerate. At least that's what I tell myself about my liver. :D

Sundae 11-06-2011 03:11 PM

Good food, attitude and genes.
Gillian McKeith is a fanatic. She is also a witch as Dana says. And a coward and a whiner, as we saw on last year's I'm A Celebrity Get me Out of Here.

Nigella eats well. But probably has the same attitude to fast food as Gillian, just more puzzled and less strident.

Her genes have meant she's lucked out on the skin front, but if she carries on smoking she'll have to be luckier still to avoid the effects. If she was Gillian's weight it would show much more. Luckily, she doesn't want to be, and good for her.

Here is her Dad. Nigel Lawson (then Chancellor of the Exchequer) in the blue tie.

Sundae 11-06-2011 03:17 PM

Stormy, well done on the life changes.
I have to quit drinking next year then I guess.
You look great.

I shocked someone the other day by referring to something that happened when I was 35. "But... how old are you then?" Bless her - she thought I was her age, and she is seven years younger than me. Flatterer. I have fat to smooth out the lines on my face of course. Fat being at least as unhealthy as smoking, sadly.

Ah, Bri.
Soz and all that, but lungs can recover. The liver can't, not fully.
We've got the most destructive habit that's still legal :(

OMG, I thought i was looking at a picture of the mother of one of my boys mates. She's sort of a friend in that we travel in the same circles locally and are often at the same functions and do's. Anyway, she's just over 40, but you look better than she does on a normal day.

ZenGum 11-06-2011 11:55 PM

One of the biggest factors of the appearance of aging is the effect of sun exposure on the skin. Probably worse than smoking for causing premature aging. I've seen seniors in queensland whose arms look like crocodile skin.

I'm too lazy to check, but is McKeith from the US? Maybe California? Lots of sun, yah?

Nigella is from England. She's probably had ten hours of direct sunlight in her whole life. Bit of an unfair advantage in this regard. ;)

Hmm...Think she's Scottish. *wikis*

Yeah. Born and raised in Scotland, but then moved to the States in the 90s.

limey 11-07-2011 03:53 AM

Ah. Scottish. That explains everything!
