What do they say? (I haven't got the patience to look for the original.) ;)

They say, "Dead tails tell no men."

If you put a blank sheet music page behind them, what song would they sing?

How far will I fall before I break?

So are those really shopped? I'm thinking they are since they're all looking in the same exact direction.

glatt 01-30-2012 07:18 AM

There's no question that multiple copies of the same bird are pasted into the picture. They all have the same position, although some have been flipped horizontally. If you look at any one detail on the bird that might be distinctive, like the tail feathers as classic mentioned, or the wrinkle next to the eye, and you compare that feature to the other copies of the bird, they are all identical. Also, once you get good at noticing artifacts, you can also see a faint blurriness surrounding the birds, especially near their heads. These artifacts are where the background just looks a little fuzzy. The artifacts in this image aren't very obvious, but I can see artifacts surrounding 5 of the 7 birds. It doesn't mean the remaining two aren't shopped, just that pasting them in worked better there.

It's possible that there was one bird in the picture originally, and the other 6 were pasted in, or that all 7 were pasted into the image from another picture.

I see it now.. Oh yeah! And what's the chances all their bodies are pointed the same direction - away! Watching the red wing black birds around here, they all land in different directions so they all protect each other better, with 360 viewing. Thanks glatt.

I must say that its interesting seeing MY image on this post and that another photographer would show it. It was an experiment in blue and layers with photoshop. Funny how folks steal images and claim them to get attention. If you want to see more of my work its at www.patrickclark.com and www.facebook.com/westernmontana I hope you become a fan on the fb site. Thank you! Patrick

ETA: Nice photos, btw.

PatClark, if you wanted the photo removed, I'm sure one of our moderators would be glad to make that happen.
