Well, if I'm not mistaken, even Whitney Houston didn't write her own songs, and she's WAYYYY better than half of these heffers out there now (although she could stand to lose Bobby Brown and reclaim her crown as queen diva..lol).
By chance it came out today that he hit her and she's got a split lip and a bruise on her cheek. Oh Whitney, you gotta let this loser go...

It seems to me that the only thing you can do is try to prepare them for when they do encounter it.

I agree...Like they say in "Finding Nemo," "If you don't let anything happen to him, then NOTHING will ever happen to him...not too much fun for little Harpo." *grins*
I can't filter EVERYTHING, I know, but I CAN do my best to filter out bad influences, such as music, when she's young. I know that when she gets into school, she'll have outside influences, but by then I figure she'll have a good foundation as far as making good choices.

I'm really not as rabid over this as it seems...it was just brought to my attention, and then I started thinking about why I was disgusted that Britney got a star, and I was surprised, myself, at what I found. It started making me think about the influence of musicians more than I usually do.

If MORE parents felt this way, this world, and the next generation, would be the better for it.

just for the record, brittany spears does NOT have a good voice.

I have to agree with you on that one. I don't think she sings any better than the hundreds of other teenyboppers who sound just like her.....

No, she has a good voice. Without a good voice, she couldn't do her job. (even with the electronic enhancement). She doesn't have a great voice.
