What kind of music does Mr. Hampton write?
I didn't answer this earlier? It's light country-ish, modern Nashville but not very commercial, kind of similar to the Poco vein of things. Americana/country/light southern rock, but not so totally simple as most of the genre.

Tom is a total guitar fiend, and loves complicated arrangements with specialty guitars and mandolins and lap steels and americana-ish keyboards.

Hey I'll put up some samples later!

UT, I went to link you gave for Tom Hampton 3 times before I figured out there are links in that page to Hear him or read his blogs one and two ....doh. :smack:

At the POCO site there's an amazing story that gives you an insight on touring and how hectic it is. Good read.

Two Tom samples, these lean towards the vaguely southern soft-rock variety.

They stream, so don't go clicking on these if you're on a modem... sorry.

I hate modem.
Sometimes living in the country AINT so good. Oh well.

Could one buy the CD?

Undertoad 01-17-2006 05:57 PM

Well I guess you could retrieve just one song directly (right-click to download) to find out if you liked it. It's available at CD Baby.

"Those who like this sort of thing will find this is the sort of thing they like."

I didn't play on the album. But if you like it enough and are willing to pay, we could probably come down there and play it for you live. :D

Ticketmaster doesn't list the show

Someone must not have told Ticketmaster. They don't list the show.

xoxoxoBruce 01-17-2006 08:13 PM

Just out of curiosity, what would it cost to have you guys come play the songs on the album…..um…..wearing blindfolds.

Undertoad 01-17-2006 08:39 PM

We'd never get there wearing blindfolds!

Undertoad 01-17-2006 08:40 PM

As far as Ticketbastard, they don't book by tour... they book by who is promoting the show. So some Poco shows are on it, some aren't.

Ticketweb, Rich. ;)

Nice, UT! I remember my sister playing Poco records when I was a yoot. I had a tape of them (one of the "Best of's"), but I didn't appreciate their coolness at the time....

Get autographs and pics if you can -- I hear they're cool about that stuff.

Undertoad 01-18-2006 01:30 PM

The chicks dig me, because I'm a 4 player.

:D

E was low enough for the last five centuries and it's low enough for me.

:D
