Sharon has the Likud attitude - steal the occupied territories. Sharon can pull out in 24 hours. Any army can disengage while in full combat and move 20 miles in one day. Such actions were routine even back in WWII. But there is no reason for Isreal to withdraw. The purpose of Israeli attacks is to destroy last remnants of the Oslo Accords.

'Immediately' means 'never' to Sharon - just like 'immediately' (when ordered by his Prime Mininster to move south two miles back into Israel) meant first taking a 100+ mile side trip to Beriut. Sharon's Israeli army will not leave the West Bank unless forced to do so - mark that sentence in stone. This was Sharon's purpose for creating the Intafada (as also stated by major western news agencies). The final act is to expell Palestinians - especially Arafat - like in Lebanon 20 years previously. Deja vue.

George Jr is the dupe. He gave the green light as part of his intent to stay away from any Middle East settlement. Clinton tried to settle it. In this adminstration, as too many political analysts note repeatedly, anything that Clinton tried to do is wrong. Clinton tried to negotiate a settlement. Therefore the best solution is to give everyone the green light. Let them settle it themselves. Don't get involved. Only a naive president would believe that would work.

Sharon just stuck a flying middle finger right up George Jr's anus after George Jr said 'immediately'. Even worse, George Jr did nothing. It is why a so much smarter Colin Powell has been very careful not to reiterate the words 'immediately' or 'now'. Sharon would also make Powell also look like a dupe.

George Jr decided the Israeli Palestinian 'thing' is irrelevant and stays away. Let the issue solve itself. He gave Sharon a green light to punish Arafat - let the locals smash it out. But then discovered Sharon was talking publically; testing to see if he could murder Arafat. George Jr quickly got involved only enough to say don't hurt Arafat - and left a green light on. George Jr actually believes this would make the Israeli Palestinian 'thing' go away, in part, because he would not make the mythical 'Clinton mistake'. George Jr does not realize how he has so undermined relations with most of the Middle East. He does not realize how he makes unstable so many friendly Arab regimes. But even worse, George Jr has made America a target of all extremist Arab factions, as Reagan did with his foolish attacks on Druze and Shites in Lebanon (most stupid was shelling from the USS New Jersey). We may suffer consequences well into the next decade for George Jr's ignorance.

George Jr sent Cheney on a 13(?) day trip to rally support for an attack on Iraq. Surprise surprise to both George and Cheney. Everyone Cheney talked to (including our most loyal supporters in Dubai) said get involved, stop Israelis now, or expect no support for anything. Well ... duhhhh.... In the Middle East, the only important event is this Israeli Palestinian 'thing'. Suddenly the administration realized that maybe the US better wait for Israel to settle the Palestinian 'thing' - as if that was going to happen. So Cheney quietly returned home.

Things got worse - confounding George Jr. And so we have George Jr's Middle East speech last weekend - that did nothing to help solve the problem but sent Powell, so far, only on a tour of the Mediterranean. At least George looks like he was involved - as everyone had told Cheney weeks earlier. But really George Jr is still remaining aloof. No one all week has arrived in Israel. However this Mediterranean tour gives Sharon more time to entrench in the occupied territories while Powell distracts the press.

George Jr's advisors are blindly driven to solve their 1991 Iraq mistake. They don't understand: Saddam is past history. We have no mandate to unilaterally remove Saddam. The Gulf War is over. Saddam won his right to remain leader of Iraq. But in a pig headed mindset, those George Sr hawks now in George Jr's administration only see three problems in the world - Iraq, Iran, and N Korea. To them, the Israeli Palestinian 'thing' will solve itself. To them, Sharon is not Milosevik or Idi Amin. They are naive. So naive as to previously believe Cheney could find support for attacks on Saddam

Even worse, they don't appreciate what Al Jezzera shows the entire Arab world. Al Jezzera is showing same facts that the Arab world also hears from the BBC. Yet George Jr, et al understands none of this. He does not yet understand that Sharon currently is the most evil national leader in the Middle East. Saddam is irrelevant.

Lets get some facts right. To say I have parroted Egyptian propaganda is equivalent to being a Likud stooge. Most every major western news agency is reporting that green light - as even demonstrated in that NY Times quote. Are they too parroting Egyptian propaganda? In the meantime, only a "know-nothing dupe" would have given Sharon that green light and let things get this bad. Judging only by his actions, George Jr also wants the Oslo Accords destroyed. I don't believe that is George Jr's intent, but then he is acting as the dupe - a stooge for the same Ariel Sharon that has just mocked the US President.

There are two agendas here. George Jr's is to green light and remain aloof - thereby becoming an unintentional and ignorant partner in ethnic cleansing of the occupied territories - which is Sharon's agenda.
