We have spam antenna. Looks like windswept hair to the uninitiated. Also works at picking up alien signals.

Talented bunch, we.

monster 09-02-2009 10:27 AM

shame we can't include the spammers on our lists really.....

Shawnee123 09-02-2009 09:02 PM

None of that changes the fact that I'm winning. There is little time to go in the year. I have it in the bag!

Wait, what do I win again?

A dead celebrity.

Shawnee123 09-02-2009 09:19 PM

A particular one, or do I get to pick one?

monster 09-02-2009 09:19 PM

you can have Jackson. they've buried all the rest

Shawnee123 09-02-2009 09:20 PM

Rats. Foiled again!

Wasn't he supposed to do some kind of frozen thing, and come back later all alive and stuff?

Sheldonrs 09-03-2009 02:24 PM

Michele Bachman
Sarah Palin
Steven Anderson

Oh, that's my WISH list!

Shawnee123 09-03-2009 07:24 PM

Aw, but (winky winky) you don't love the Palin? :(

'Scusi - I doubt it's many points, but I score with John Mortimer.
I put him on there to save him (it worked for The Thatch for after all) the least I can get is a few measly points for my loss.

classicman 09-16-2009 03:11 PM

14 points for SG

Shawnee123 09-16-2009 10:48 PM

Damn damn damn. :headshake

You know, the points system...I not like. You get beaucoup points for Swayze when he has had one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel for HOW LONG? [/competitivesoreloser]

Oh, and LOL at madman!

Shawnee had Malden, too.

Shawnee123 09-18-2009 12:25 PM

Thanks Spexx. :)

edit: so I predict THREE deaths and lose? I need another fatality from my list. What the hell is Tara Reid doing? Is she all fucking sober or something? That'd be my luck!

Sundae 09-18-2009 01:26 PM

You've not lost yet, chick.
You gotta gun?

Radar 09-18-2009 01:28 PM

Ok, revised year to date totals...

Patrick Swayze = 43 points
Karl Malden = 3 points
Ted Kennedy = 23 points
Walter Cronkite = 8 points
John Mortimer = 15 points
Kenny McCormick = 0 points (animated people don't count)

Monster - 43 Points (Patrick Swayze)
Shawnee – 34 Points (Ted Kennedy, Karl Malden & Walter Cronkite)
Classicman – 23 Points (Ted Kennedy... using my own list to beat me)
Sundae Girl - 15 Points (John Mortimer)
Spudcon – 3 Points (Karl Malden)

Shawnee123 09-18-2009 01:34 PM

Oh come ON...look at that! With what weird logic am I not winning?

I'm declaring myself winner anyway. Hmmph.

Just kiddin'. Kinda. Yeah, I'm a bit competitive...what of it? ;)

classicman 09-18-2009 01:36 PM

loooooooooooooser!

Shawnee123 09-18-2009 01:38 PM

Well it IS bullshit. I don't care how you slice it.

Sundae 09-18-2009 01:41 PM

Sigh, Shawnee. This is how it works.
You choose people who are going to die.
You take more of a chance if your choose young people, but you get more points if they die. However there is a tendency for older people to die sooner, you just don't get as many points.

There is no "logic", there is no "fair", death is random.
Taking a weapon out on the streets is the only way you can hope to have any impact on your position on the list. Or a putative knowledge of healthcare.

That is what Monster has done after all.
Or at least that's what I assumed when I got a text message from her saying, "That's for Chappaquiddick you arsehole!"

I hope that makes things clear.

Shawnee123 09-18-2009 01:45 PM

You don't take a chance if you know they have terminal cancer and they're like, 41 years old.

That's OK, I still think Tara will pull through for me.

Thanks for the 'splanation: I get it, I just think the fact I predicted 3 deaths is pretty impressive! Yeah they were old...but with the exception of Teddy there was no news story of their impending death.

But I wouldn't begrudge the mon anything! I love the monster! :)

I know you know the rules, babba. I was laying it on thick for my own amusement.

Me, I'm gutted that the first year I get a single hit, I'm still coming in last of the scoring Dwellars! AND I had to lose a hero in order to do so! So, I sympathise almost completely. Not totally of course, because I still won't bloody catch you.

I love Monnie too, but what say we off her anyway?

classicman 09-18-2009 02:05 PM

Shaw, you win in the "most deaths predicted correct" category, Its kinda like winning best supporting actress.

Apparently, less is more. :D

Sundae 09-18-2009 02:16 PM

Damn, I forgot about offering a made-up prize to an obvious fruitloop... Yeah, they did to to Michael Jackson, didn't they?

Did I say that out loud?
'Scuse me, just go to go and deadlock the door...

;)

glatt 09-18-2009 02:36 PM

I'm impressed with your mad death predicting skillz Shawnee! You go, girl!

Shawnee123 09-18-2009 02:38 PM

I am impressive like that! I got the impresses goin' on! :)

That's why the game is tough. When you go for older people, you have a better chance, but if you get lucky and pick someone young, you jump to the head of the class.

I'm glad to see Robert Downey Jr. has his shit together now. He was on my list for awhile.

You have an even better chance if you pick someone with terminal cancer about whom the headlines once blared SWAYZE DEAD IN FIVE WEEKS. Duh...that's my point.

It's your scoring system, I am just pointing out it's not flawless, so quit act like I'm not winning. ;)

monster 09-18-2009 04:09 PM

yeah but that five weeks was in 2008! you figure if they kast 20 months, they must have it beat, right?

Anyway shawnee, stop going all Kanye West on me or I'll have to start photoshopping images of you......

Shawnee123 09-18-2009 06:19 PM

Imma let you finish, but I had the best death count of the YEAR!

Bwaahahahahaaaaaaa

monster 09-18-2009 06:22 PM

oh, I have my photoeditor open and two pics in there awaiting my attention....

monster 09-18-2009 06:23 PM

is there anyway I can squeeze Kanye into my list? I reckon some redneck's bound to do him in after he hurt their country music princess ;lol:

I agree. Those who are widely known publicly to be terminally ill shouldn't count. I mean those who are in death row don't count. But I don't know if Patrick Swayze's cancer was widely known about in January.

That doesn't always work out. Ariel Sharon is still alive, the bastard. I think I had him on my lists in 2007 AND 2008!

Shawnee123 09-19-2009 08:37 AM

Yeah, I had Magic Johnson on my list...when he first got aids. About 50 years ago.

monster 09-19-2009 09:23 PM

and fidel castro is hanging in there too..... fucking miracles of medicine

Radar 09-19-2009 10:44 PM

Kim Jong Il won't die dammit!

lumberjim 09-19-2009 11:50 PM

Has John Madden Carked it yet? cuz, you know he's either gonna die before the end of this football season, or he'll live to be 104

Monster - 43 Points (Patrick Swayze)
Shawnee – 34 Points (Ted Kennedy, Karl Malden & Walter Cronkite)
Classicman – 23 Points (Ted Kennedy... using my own list to beat me)
Sundae Girl - 15 Points (John Mortimer)
Spudcon – 3 Points (Karl Malden)

Alternate scoring system: instead of adding points, multiply them, thus giving a big return for those who get multiple deaths.

Shawnee 552 – Points (Ted Kennedy (23), Karl Malden (3) & Walter Cronkite (8)) 23 x 3 x 8 = 552
Monster - 43 Points (Patrick Swayze)
Classicman – 23 Points (Ted Kennedy)
Sundae Girl - 15 Points (John Mortimer)
Spudcon – 3 Points (Karl Malden)

monster 09-22-2009 08:01 AM

or add them then multiply by the number of hits: Shawnee would be on 102....

fargon 09-22-2009 09:07 AM

William Shatner?

monster 09-22-2009 03:13 PM

would have 0 points under any of the scoring schemes because he didn't submit a list

classicman 09-22-2009 03:22 PM

. . . nor is he dead

Sheldonrs 10-06-2009 10:46 AM

I just have a hunch but I'm going to add George Michael to the list.

http://www.azcentral.com/ent/celeb/a...e-michael.html

Sundae 10-06-2009 01:34 PM

Meh - if he was going to implode he'd have done it by now.
He's just got better at not picking up policemen on the Heath...

classicman 12-20-2009 08:47 PM

bump . . .

monster 12-20-2009 09:26 PM

Is it time for the 2010 pool?

Elspode 12-20-2009 09:51 PM

I'm guessing no one got Brittany Murphy?

Actually yes, it's time to start formulating your lists. They should be in by New Years Day.

lookout123 12-21-2009 12:59 AM

fuck. she was a cute kid.

Radar 12-21-2009 07:27 AM

I never thought much of her as an actress until recently when I saw a movie called "Ramen Girl" and she did a pretty good job as the protagonist.
