The BN players are on your bench. the others are flex positions, you can use whichever you have to fill.

infinite monkey 09-08-2011 05:06 PM

So if I already have those positios gainfully filled, I don't want to change them even though I have no dog in the show tonight? For instance, I wouldn't use the NO guy even if he's playing tonight; because my main team will play later in the weekend? You can't just change them in willy nilly. Can you?

Thanks for the help! :)

Pico and ME 09-08-2011 05:12 PM

Looks like you're cool except for your Q/R/W/T position, that guy is playing tonight and I don't think you want him there, cuz then after tonight you would be stuck with him. You might want to put a higher scoring player in that position instead. Before the game starts.

Pico and ME 09-08-2011 06:15 PM

OK. I have questions.

How are the reserve positions used? Is it for injured players and is there a time limit on it before you can use a reserved player? And how is it distinguished from regular bench players?

jimhelm 09-08-2011 07:18 PM

Uhm... I forget. trying to find it.....

glatt 09-08-2011 08:02 PM

Already I'm enjoying this football season a thousand times more now that I'm in fantasy football.

It's amusing though. I want Green Bay to do well tonight since I've got 2 of their players and their defense too, but I'm playing UT this week, and he's got the Green Bay QB, so when I do well, so does he. How hard do I root for Green Bay?

Undertoad 09-08-2011 08:10 PM

Just accept yer goin' down and enjoy the game

infinite monkey 09-08-2011 08:12 PM

I haz points. With the alphabet guy who I wasn't supposed to play. ;)

Pico and ME 09-08-2011 08:13 PM

I love fantasy football.

Pico and ME 09-08-2011 08:57 PM

L, I gave you (the enemy :p:) really good advice, you know. Right? Ask anybody.

I wouldn't steer you wrong.

But the fact that you didn't follow it, well....:D

Pico and ME 09-08-2011 10:34 PM

OMG. Rogers is at 70 points!!!!!

Vick better produce, but I'm getting worried.

jimhelm 09-08-2011 11:04 PM

Holy hell.....

I know i set up a high scoring league and all, but Spencer Has 118.5 points after one game and 4 starters playing!

Good luck zippeh.....

Whook!

I'm lurnin'! I gots a lurnin' curve. :p:

I really wasn't sure what you were telling me to do. Also, I was doing that last posting from my phone and I wasn't even going to attempt a player switchover. By the time I got home from my friend's house I figured "eff it."

So I popped a beer open instead.

Plus, you are the enemy! This week. ;)

71 points, and you've only played one guy so far. It ain't over for me yet this week, but it's going to be uphill.

infinite monkey 09-09-2011 07:56 AM

I still don't get the Q/R/W/T thing.

glatt 09-09-2011 08:11 AM

Me neither, but it tells you what kind of player you have in that slot, so you can replace them with a similar player from your bench if you want.

infinite monkey 09-09-2011 08:15 AM

But I already have the people in "real" positions.

What's this guy supposed to BE? A quarterback? Got Phil. A running back? Got them...

Pico and ME 09-09-2011 09:45 AM

That a very flexible flex spot - you can put either a quarterback, a running back, a receiver or a tight end there. So, if you want, you can play two quarterbacks.

infinite monkey 09-09-2011 09:50 AM

OK, so the guys on the bench (designated by BN) are not "playing" but that position (the QWRT guy) is...got it. QT guy is actually getting points...right?

I didn't know that such a role existed in the FF. Was it like that two years ago?

Thanks for the help! :)

jimhelm 09-09-2011 10:34 AM

no... in previous years, you had to do the pay for it version to alter the scoring system. This year, when I was setting it up, I found that I was able to alter the scoring system as well as roster positions.

I set it up to be ridiculously high scoring..... because everyone loves more points!

and I figured we'd have a relatively low amount of teams, so a larger roster would work out ok. I hope it does. I'm already having trouble finding a good RB tho.

And I can't find anything about reserve players, Pico. Where are you seeing that?

Pico and ME 09-09-2011 11:00 AM

In the settings section where it lists roster points and stuff...

http://www.nfl.com/fantasy/help/custom-reservedplayer

Reserved Player Position

Custom league managers may choose to enable a Reserve slot to allow an injured or suspended NFL player to be placed on a non-active fantasy roster slot. If a player meets a number of NFL-specific roster designations and you believe upon return to an active NFL roster that he will be an impact player for your team, you can place the player on this Reserve (RES) slot.

Players are eligible for the Reserved slot if they are officially labeled by their NFL team as:

RES: Injured Reserve
NON: Non Football Related Injured Reserve
SUS: Suspended
PUP: Physically Unable to Perform
EXE: Exempt

Once a player is moved to the RES roster position, you will have an open spot on your roster and can add a player to your active roster without the need to drop someone. Note that when the time comes to activate your reserved player, you will need to make a corresponding transaction to ensure your roster meets league-specified roster limits.

Once a player becomes active, you can keep him in your RES spot, but you will be restricted from improving your team via add, drop or trade since your roster will be in an illegal state. Note that your team will still earn fantasy points for matchups that take place, but you can not improve your team via external transactions.

Pico and ME 09-09-2011 12:34 PM

Thanks for finding that, Jim.

jimhelm 09-09-2011 02:29 PM

de nada

glatt 09-12-2011 12:58 PM

All I have to do tonight is use my two remaining players to double my score so far, and then I can beat UT.

Pico and ME 09-12-2011 01:20 PM

Oh Gawd, I thought I thought I had this game in the bag. Now I don't have a chance.

Good game River Rats!

jimhelm 09-12-2011 01:28 PM

Actually, your game should be close. The rest seem decided.

infinite monkey 09-12-2011 01:39 PM

Rivers is da bomb.

jimhelm 09-12-2011 09:13 PM

Cheese and rice. High scoring alright.

glatt 09-13-2011 07:09 AM

For some, yes.

infinite monkey 09-13-2011 07:13 AM

Close game, Pico Power. WTG! :)

Pico and ME 09-13-2011 11:59 AM

Oh wow! I just now checked the score. That was a damn close game. When I went to bed last night I knew I lost. That was a good fight.

bluecuracao 09-13-2011 07:13 PM

Congrats, all you Week #1 winnahs!

My quarterbacks are teh suck. This may not be a good season for Eagle Green.

jimhelm 09-18-2011 09:02 PM

Couple close ones going into the last two games.....

Pico and ME 09-18-2011 09:06 PM

Hey, why in the heck do fumbles count against the quarterback? They have nothing to do with it.

jimhelm 09-18-2011 10:51 PM

I assumed that only when the qb fumbled, would they assess it against him. You noted otherwise?

Also.... Wow! Spencer got you by 1.1 points, shaw!

Good game, ute. I'm#2!

Fumbles FUM LOST REC YDS

Nope.... Vick coughed up two fumbles.... It is as it should be.

Pico and ME 09-18-2011 11:45 PM

oh...they were his fumbles

nevermind

Wow!

Just when I think I'm unbeatable.

Tell Spencer: I'll get you NEXT TIME...and your little dog too! Mwaaahahaahaaa! And tell him GOOD GAME! :)

infinite monkey 09-26-2011 07:26 AM

I was at mom and dad's on Sunday, football game on...mom says to dad "Is Hillis out?" I'm like "Wait WHAAAAAAAAAA?"

Hillis had strep throat. I checked and everyone was OK on Friday. I kicked myself for not checking closer to the games.

But it looks like I won anyway. Troop has an RB on injured reserve. :) And Sanchez saved my butt!
Finally one in the win column!

(Can Flying Spaghetti Monsters be beat??????? EVER?) ;)

jimhelm 09-26-2011 08:23 AM

I'm scared of him.

I need 13.3 points out of Dallas's D and Demarcus Ware to sneak past glatt.

COWBOOOOYS!

infinite monkey 09-26-2011 08:24 AM

I know. I almost posted that glatt and I could both finally get one in the win column, but I see you have games left tonight.

Go jim! No, wait...go glatt! No, I mean jim, I mean glatt.

Oh hell, may the best man win.

glatt 09-26-2011 08:37 AM

Jim will almost certainly win. But I could get lucky. So far this season, luck has not been on my side.

infinite monkey 09-26-2011 08:57 AM

I'd give you some of my luck but as you can see, I have little to spare.

FSM is a friggin winning machine! There's no getting around that Brees/Brady/Welker Trio. (Ruff Riders pick a God, any other God, and start praying for injuries :D)

Congrats on your win River Rats!

infinite monkey 09-26-2011 02:45 PM

Thanks Pico!

We worked hard at practice this week. We knew we had some challenges, and our drills were all built around overcoming those challenges. Sure, Hillis being out was a major blow, but we concentrated on what we worked on, and we prevailed. People say we're a young team, that we need to build. Well, we're building, and we're confident we'll end this season on a winning note. [/every post game interview you've ever heard]]

W.

close one, Pico. good game!

Pico and ME 10-03-2011 09:12 AM

You are tough to beat!

If only I had put in Vick. The problem was who to take out to make room for him - Cam or Fitzpatrick? Had I done it, it probably would have been Cam and I would still be in the same boat.

Is it possible for Addai to get -7 points...:D

jimhelm 10-03-2011 09:18 AM

it is. that would suck.

infinite monkey 10-03-2011 11:04 AM

Sanchez netted me minus 11, but I would've been beat even without that. Wtg green!

glatt 10-03-2011 11:33 AM

I'm on track to continue my perfect losing streak. You might look at me and think I'm not trying to win, but I am!

Undertoad 10-03-2011 11:40 AM

Next week's FSM vs Toads matchup will be interesting. He has NO's QB, RB, TE and the third wideout... I have both of NO's top wideouts. I was thinking about dropping one of them, but now... if I keep both in, that will nullify FSM's QB, because throws to my guys will mean points for both of us.

Big game!

jimhelm 10-03-2011 11:46 AM

@glatt: you've just had all the tough opponents so far. You'll win games.

jimhelm 10-03-2011 12:44 PM

bye weeks begin next week, too folks.. watch your players, make sure they're playing.

Undertoad 10-03-2011 01:04 PM

Ah, NO's top wideout is who Spence has. I may just go with my other WRs and let his game go as NO's goes.

jimhelm 10-03-2011 02:00 PM

he's been hurt all year (Colston). Might be back up to snuff this week, though.
