LJ 12-10-2007 11:25 PM

a scary ugly way to get to 12-1.

i like it.

LJ 12-15-2007 09:31 PM

i was looking for my broom today...

...and then i realized.....the cowboys must have borrowed it

.....gonna sweep the eagles tomorrow and all....

classicman 12-16-2007 01:25 AM

could you guys knock McNabb into next year so we can see if this kid is any good?

LJ 12-17-2007 12:26 AM

sonofabitch!

W.HI.P 12-17-2007 01:00 AM

You could always use the excuse that they were resting.

..........but no, it didn't look like that now did it?

Philadelphia Eagles 10-6 Dallas Cowboys.
in Dallas with T.O.... shame shame.

W.HI.P 12-17-2007 01:03 AM

My next post in this thread will be after week 17.

Then the post after that, will be after the playoff game between the Cowboys and the Redskins

classicman 12-17-2007 07:31 AM

I honestly feel bad for ya LJ. Gotta suck to lose to this eagles team. Then again, maybe it was a wake up call to win the next 5 in a row.

Couple news snippets:
"As bad as it sounds for Dallas (12-2), the Cowboys knew before kickoff they’d secured a first-round bye — and that they couldn’t lock up home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. So the stakes were pretty low. And they played like it."

“We came out flat. We just couldn’t get anything going offensively,” Owens said. “Maybe this is good for us — a gut-check.”

"The Cowboys lost both Pro Bowl center Andre Gurode and starting defensive end Chris Canty to left knee injuries during the third quarter..."

So, one could say that the Cowboys have a coaching problem.
Health is the #1 priority when a team is already with 2 feet in the playoffs.
In fact, nobody rested from the Cowboys last night.
In San Diego, they began resting their stars after the first quarter.
Ladanian played the first quarter. Gates came in for one play.

Thats kinda funny, cause i've been told, after giving the Charges as a superbowl team that they don't stand a chance because of coaching.
From what i've been seeing, looks like the Chargers know their priorities better than the Brokeback mountain boys.
Hell, if the Cowboys keep this up, they won't have anyone left to play after the week 17 game with the superbowl Redskins

LJ 12-17-2007 04:23 PM

you're high.

but, i will say that for the first time this year, jason garrett called a poor offense. they abandoned the run altogether in the 4th quarter. they got the ball with 7 minutes left, and could have just ran it down the eagles throats with Barber.....but they kept passing on first down...taking sacks, etc. trust me...i've been playing madden long enough to know this kind of thing.

classicman 12-17-2007 08:37 PM

Whip, it may be that Dallas is just fodder for one of the supreme teams from the AFC, but they are far better than any other shitty team in the NFC. I know that isn't sayin much, but they can only be compared to what there is in their division.

It shows you how vulnerable this cowboys team can be.
It only takes one game to get kicked out of the playoffs.
The superbowl is yet to be reached.
Could you imagine Romo's episode against the Seahawks last year repeat itself?
So yeah, the NFC is open, and given the fact that the Packers are far from being contenders, it could be a wild card that makes it.

Undertoad 12-19-2007 04:56 PM

I must say, as much as Aikman was a hated rival all those years, he does fine work in the broadcast booth, and so does that Daryl Johnston.

LJ 12-19-2007 10:34 PM

and if anything, Aikman is tough on the 'boys. I wonder if he's a fan, and is just being careful not to seem biased...or if he has a little jealousy going on....

LJ 12-23-2007 09:11 PM

the cowboys eeked out win against the Panthers....bringing them to 13-2. The Packers dumped one against the Bears....yay.....which gives the Cowboys home field advantage throughout the playoffs

classicman 12-23-2007 09:48 PM

... and a chance to rest a few players, most notably T.O.

LJ 12-23-2007 10:49 PM

that's a good point....

WHIP and I have a bet that will be impacted by this situation. The Skins NEED to win to get in.....and the cowboys are in as good as they're gonna be....so, all the motivation is on the skins' side...Phillips will prolly rest Romo and Barber...definitely TO.....No reason to bring Glenn back yet.....It will be the JV team out there....oh well....a bet is a bet....maybe the rivalry will be enough ...or the second stringers trying out for future position.......

I'm not known to lose many bets of this nature.
It is certainly no suprise of mine that 3 teams from the same division are progressing as I have named it the best league in the NFL.
I've also called the Redskins success this year since the season started, I actually began talking about the Redskins 2007-2008 season since last years playoff time.
Just imagine if the superstar safety was still around!
The bet? It was over before it started.
Washington has a better team than Dallas, and should they meet on the road to this years superbowl as they are clearly the two best teams in the NFC, my money again will be on the Redskins, I hope you will accept that bet for the same purpose and amount when the time comes.

Thats not actually true.
The Skins are in 100% if they win.
If they lose it would be a 4/1 shot for them to get in based on the results of other games.

deadbeater 01-06-2008 10:02 PM

Ha ha! The Giants got the Boys right where they want them.

classicman 01-06-2008 10:17 PM

Yeah right at Texas stadium. :headshake

Then again it is tough to beat a division rival 3 times in one season.

deadbeater 01-13-2008 09:32 PM

Now what? Now what!! Go Giants!

classicman 01-14-2008 08:46 AM

sorry Jim.

LJ 01-14-2008 09:22 AM

yeah...i feel worse for my boy. he was REALLY bummed. a valuable lesson, i guess. he told me tearfully that he hopes the giants make the super bowl and get crushed 72-3 by the patriots.

classicman 01-14-2008 09:29 AM

LOL - the Pats are my AFC team since I was born up there and all, but my son is a huge Colts fan so I had to temper my enthusiasm.

bluecuracao 01-14-2008 09:03 PM

It was funny the first couple of times, but enough with TO crying like a little baby on TV.

Oh, ok...maybe one more time...heh heh heh

Tell him, he should hope that the Giants win the superbowl so he can say that the Cowboys lost against the superbowl champs.
That way the Cowboys won't look as bad as they actually are. ;p

robsterman1 01-16-2008 10:27 AM

It was so comical to see the 'Boys fold up like that during the game. Romo should not have taken that romantic fling with Jess Simpson that time, but should have spent that time getting good and ready for that very important game. The sex can wait...the football is NOW!

deadbeater 01-17-2008 01:10 AM

Like TO said, "Leave Tony alone!!"

Hey mods change the title of this thread to The Giants Update Thread, haa haa!!

robsterman1 01-17-2008 12:40 PM

I liked the 'Boys but they really need to get back on their game like they did in the early '90s. The Pats now look like a better bet.

lumberjim 09-12-2008 09:46 PM

In case I am not able to gloat from OBX.....

the eagles suck.

go cowboys.

oh...and...uh.....

the eagles suck.

classicman 09-14-2008 10:52 PM

Romo is a homo

lumberjim 09-14-2008 10:55 PM

yeah....cuz Jessica Simpson is a guy in drag, obviously.

TheMercenary 09-15-2008 01:27 PM

I do believe that her left hooter is about to fall out. Where is the follow on pic?

Clodfobble 09-15-2008 01:27 PM

That nipple isn't blurred very effectively.

lumberjim 09-15-2008 09:27 PM

what a half of football......

54 points scored.......jesus. It's like watching a highlight reel.

classicman 09-15-2008 09:29 PM

Holy crap, what a game! I can't take it. Hope you all bet the over

lumberjim 09-15-2008 11:47 PM

I'm trying to remember a better game......for me....but I'm struggling. Maybe the Championship against the Niners in 92.......

but week 2? wow. good game, iggles....i can't honestly say they suck....but they are teh suxor.

WTF happened??
I missed it. Did someone get hurt or was this a typical Redskins/Cowboys battle?

W.HI.P 09-28-2008 10:25 PM

Its pretty simple... The Redskins are a better team!
They clearly outplayed the Cowboys.

lumberjim 09-28-2008 11:42 PM

they definitely scored more points.

lumberjim 09-29-2008 05:27 PM

classicman 09-29-2008 08:54 PM

ouch -

lumberjim 11-03-2008 12:07 PM

the cowboys are butt-hurt

Quote:

with Brad Johnson the starter in the last three, the Cowboys have lost their mobility in the pocket, their rocket arm and their mojo.
the mojo is the biggest problem

TheMercenary 11-03-2008 05:19 PM

Cowboys are in a big hurt. I can't say that I am completely unhappy about that.

xiphos 11-11-2008 03:18 PM

Their team has no substance. They built their team around two players and this is what they deserved.

that's incorrect. they have a massive O line, and sent 13? players to the pro bowl last year.

they will be back and stronger than ever the second half of the season....starting with the Foreskins. This Sunday night the Cowboys will take Washington's hearts and rape their mammas

I'm just hoping Green Bay will make a rebound the second half of the season. Rodgers isn't the problem, it's our defensive backs.

the only chance of the cowboys having a chance at winning this game is if clinton portis isn't in the game..... but even then, they'll have to earn it.

it sounds like you have a lot of anger lj.
this anger towards the redskins that you have either comes from week 4 when the redskins straight up beat the cowboys in dallas, with romo at qb.
or..............................................
you've come to reality, and now know that there are at least 2 teams in dallas's division that are superior to the cowboys.

TheMercenary 11-16-2008 10:05 AM

Dallas at Washington tonight.

Dallas by 1.5 points? I don't think so...

The reason why they have the Cowboys at -2.5 is cause Romo is back for Dallas, and Washington's league leading running back Clinton Portis is out.
Overall, the Redskins are still superior and will win the game, hammering the final nail in the Cowboys coffin for this season!

Beestie 11-16-2008 07:04 PM

The Cowgirls are advised to prepare for an unholy asswhoopin' of Biblical proportion.
