Isn't there a program that does that digitally?
|
My daughter plays trombone in her middle shool's wind ensemble band. It's the best of several bands in her school. They just went to the District XII Band Assesment today, where a panel of judges grades the performance of each band in the district. They got a perfect score. That hasn't happened for a middle school band here since they started doing these assesments in the sixties.
She has really worked hard at this, has improved tremendously over the last year, and sounds great. When I hear this band, I have a hard time remembering they are kids. |
Brilliant!

You can do it in photoshop, but I don't have it.
I'm sure I could download a similar program for free, but I probably wont. I need to take the good camera down and get a sharper pic. This one is a little blurry, but it's still a nice snap. |

Our choirs on the other hand, were awesome! |
I always wished I played a musical instrument. That is so cool! Good for her! My uncle and nephew play trombone. It looks like it would be hard to be precise. It must take a lot of practice and talent.

Re portraits from photos.....
This is a painting from a photo of my kids and their friends: http://www.johnmegahan.com/images/pa...s_fullsize.jpg If you ever need an artist, this is who I would recommend commisioning, especially of there's water and nature involved in the pic. He's in the US, though..... http://www.johnmegahan.com/index.php And no, I don't own this picture, but one day I might...... That was the last wrinkly swim suit Hebe ever owned -that was the first summer of competitive swimming....... |
Wow! He really caught their image. That's beautiful.

What do you think? There's a local photo printing shop that makes among other things photoprints on canvas. This is what I had in mind, painterly like. Attachment 37971 |

I like the idea. So I thought I'd try my hand at it too. This is the "oilify" filter in gimp, with the pole deselected so it doesn't get obliterated.

I prefer conceptual artists like Rothko. Here is the image with "Average Blur". It's deceptively simple - only the combination of sky, sand and water could combine to make this particular hue.
Because it occupies the same space as the original, it forces you to recall the original, to try to recreate it in your mind. But the deep expanse of joyless color is in many ways the opposite of the original, expressing an existentialist pain. Is the boy still there in your mind? Or does the power of the art wash him away? Each of us will react differently. Enjoy. http://cellar.org/2012/fishingsam1.jpg |
Whooooaaaaahhhhhhhh :bong: duuuuudeeeee
