New toys are always cool and keep you busy for awhile learning their limits.
Depth of field is tricky with macro, it takes practice that made a long slow learning curve with film. Digital has made it much easier to learn without going broke or dying of old age.

You take pictures as mementos of where you've been, and to entertain us, why would you need to win contests?

I suppose for the validation. I think I'm good. I guess I'd like to see if it holds up.

Medoc Mountain State Park. I didn't have many pictures because I was fucking miserable. Being swarmed by bugs. Getting bit through my clothes even though I used a different bug spray. I still got a few good ones.

I treat my hiking clothes with permethrin. It actually works, and with the serious threat of tick borne illnesses in Virginia, it's something I think is important.

I was concerned about it because I use the same clothes to work out in as I do to hike. I talked to the guy at REI and he said he used it when he was in the army and had no problems. so I gave it a shot on my last hike. I'm not sure if it was that or there were no bugs. I have a camping trip this weekend, so I'm trying it again. I'll keep doing it until it's proven wrong, really :)

Thanks :) I think there are a few water pictures here. I've been playing with point of focus more, though. I think this one is more in the middle and not on the actual water itself

I meant the rain drops and rivulets, on/among the vegetation.

Is that a purple mushroom? I can't tell without my Polaroid glasses which makes the purple shine like a light. Not that I made any tea.... lately.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ca7f7ba004.jpg

Oh! You mean the previous pics. Yea, I like those. The droplets look cool on the grass/green leaves

Nope - not purple. Brown to yellowish to white.

Prepare for a slew of pictures. I've gone through quite the back log of pictures. First up, Morrow Mountain State park. A lovely hike.

I drove to the peak
