The usual reaction was fascination, wonder, puzzlement - with people spending a lot of time looking at them and guessing what they were looking at, making up wild stories with each other about them and ALWAYS begging me to tell them what the photo was of.

For a while I would tell people if they really wanted to know. Invariably, when I did the excitement would drain from their faces and they'd say, "Oh." with a pathetic tone of resignation.

And that was it, knowing the answer pissed all over their parade and destroyed their interest in and enjoyment of the photos.

Sometimes, the questions are better than the answers.

Did you post them on the cellar? Do you still have them? That sounds really interesting and I'd love to see!

Very nice, V.

Glatt junior got this letter on the mail today from the national Boy Scout magazine. He doesn't even remember what tip he submitted because it was years ago. And he sent in like four submissions.

Thunder Boy is going to be president. He talked his way back on to the swim team even though he can't stop behaving badly and coach hates him. I have no idea why he wants to keep on with it, even tenacious I would have given up... but he does. He's on his beyond last chance now. A single (further) f-bomb within coach's hearing and he's toast. But he still walked in there and asked to be back on the team after the last one.

(old shitty coach left and was replaced by Polo Girl's coach (Mo-Jo). I suspect the sharing of genes and body type by PG and TB may be the redeeming factor. color me cynical. 'cause right now TB is not a great swimmer, but there's a glimmer....)

classicman 02-04-2017 12:41 PM

How sweet.

Clodfobble 02-04-2017 01:42 PM

Just don't be like one of those dads who tattoos their kids' artwork onto their bodies. Hold out for something better. :)
