Taken yesterday at the San Diego Wild Animal Park. If you have any idea what kind of butterfly this is, please let me know.

Papillo paliniurus, Green Swallowtail, cryptically enough, and a lovely specimen and a lovely photograph.

Photo from today's backyard safari. I wish my eyes were better so I could get the focus right, but I hope the subject matter makes it interesting for others. Think Hallmark would want to use it for a Mother's Day card? :D

Anyone know anything about lizards? I took this picture yesterday at the L.A. Arboretum. Is that an egg behind its right rear leg?

The snake looks similar to a common water snake. Water snakes can have a wide variety of colorings and markings. I am leaning towards the Yellow-bellied Watersnake only because the Juvi with it has distinct yellow on the bottom.
