Well, then as Maggie said, it still happened on a different date. Not only has Western civilization dropped entire blocks of days out of the calendar on several occasions, but the number of months and the number of days in a month have been rearranged according to the ego of whoever was in power at the time. Napoleon even started the entire calendar over from scratch, and there were many who thought HE was the antichrist anyway. If anybody had a calendar in effect which was both totally accurate at the time of the writing of Revelations and still exists unchanged, it was/is the Maya of Mezo-America. Unfortunately, however, they were not counting down for the Second Comming of the Christians' savior. (Unless you happen to be Mormon and intend to squash the Maya civilization and its accomplishments into your own mold and claim that they, too, witnessed the resurected Jesus and by rejecting him doomed themselves to extinction in the New World of the Hebrews.) |
