Dear Undertoad,

please add a link somewhere easily accessible in the navigation for SteveDallas's random threads. Or even re-implement it. So simple, so beautiful.

on behalf of my insomnia,
thanks.

To the extent this comment reflects on my thread picker, which is truly just a little something the cat dragged in one night, thank you.

However, while I don't object to UT "officially" linking to it, I'd recommend against it.

HungLikeJesus 03-13-2009 10:09 AM

I hadn't thought of that, SD. Do you want me to remove it from my signature line?

HungLikeJesus 03-13-2009 10:13 AM

This thread shows the origin of the SDRTP.

SteveDallas 03-13-2009 10:18 AM

Not at all.. I was referring to an Official Cellar Link(tm). If I didn't want anybody using it I'd get rid of it. (The load on my shared hosting plan is almost nonexistent.) My concerns are mainly in the area of not making UT look responsible for something he didn't do, in case there's a problem with it or a future vBulletin upgrade breaks it or something like that.

classicman 03-13-2009 11:07 AM

Well I'd like to say that I love to roll the dice occasionally with it. Its a great way to find threads I wouldn't normally. And hey - keeping me outta the politics forum can only be good :D

you should contact vbulletin and see if they want to buy it

SteveDallas 03-13-2009 11:58 AM

If they feel like doing it, it's trivial, and they can do a much better job since they would actually have access to the guts of vbulletin.

I usually think of the political forum as a good double for fish wrap. Really, put the fresh fish in it and throw it in the freezer.

Cats drag in great things sometimes, not all of them flapping one wing.

I specifically am lazy, and would love for there to be a 'random thread link' that I easily repeatedly click, i.e. that would be on the new random thread. Sometimes the first random thread is pretty bleh.

Guess it's a topic covered previously, but I liked the directness of a Dear UT.

I don't know about Internet Explorer, but in SeaMonkey you can drag a link to the shortcut toolbar and you'll have that link available from anywhere.
