i would recommend something along the lines of "my career had run its course there and i feel it is time to look for a new challenge in a company that i can build a long term career with."

mentioning anything to do with previous hr, complaint, or even personality conflicts can often make them wonder what happened and scare them away when obviously there is no need for them to be.

thanks for the suggestion. That's what I'm going to be leaning towards if either of these interviews fall through.

The great thing about litigation is that you can probably get *both*.

Anyway, a vacation while working a new job isn't probable, because things take so long to be litigated. By the time you deposit the check, you'll have earned some time off.

See, I look at it like this: The revenge encompases all of that...the money, clearing of the name, and wishing harm to those who caused all this grief.

Remember: it's a dish best served cold. If it were me, I'd give them all a permanent case of frostbite. :D

Good luck!!

Things I found out today....

I'm financially eligible for a nice chunk of UC bennies - when they decide I deserve them or not.

I got a job. It's not the PERFECT job, but it's a good one - pays the same that I made at the old one...but the depressing part of it is - I'll be getting the same amount of pay as phone jockey as I did as a tech writer/analyst.

So, perhaps this is all a "GOOD THING".

Hooray! That's awesome Dagney, I'm impressed you turned things around so quickly! :)

Dagney 09-15-2004 08:59 PM

Well, I was bound and determined to hit the ground running. As I said, it's not the best job, but it's better than NO job :)

The less responsibility for the same money certainly does not suck.

Dagney 09-15-2004 10:39 PM

Nope, doesn't suck a bit....and only serves to remind me of how poorly my former employer treated me.

keeps throwing wood on the fire.

BrianR 09-16-2004 01:33 PM

Yay you! You go Dag!

I'm glad you found a job so quickly. Don't forget to nail the bastids!
Can you still get UC if you're now employed?

Dagney 09-16-2004 01:41 PM

I'm not technically employed until 9/28 - but when i'm finally deemed eligible for UC, i'll get back payment.

The rest is in the works.
