I was nostalgic for JinB too until last year when I went on a business trip to LA and had dinner one night at a JinB. I actually tried JinB and Del Taco. Taco Bell and Del Taco are way better than JinB, whose only advantage is that they deep fry the taco which adds flavor.

Taco Bell is alright...of course, it's half-assed Mexican food. I used to eat it damned near every day while in college. Then I went through a period where I didn't eat it for almost 2 years...probably because I was going with a girl that was half-Mexican most of that time.
Del Taco is not bad...their chicken soft tacos are particularly good, and so is their hot sauce.
JitB went through some hell in the 80s and early 90s--for a while, they were known as Monterey Jack's in some markets. Then there was the E.coli problem in Washington State. I kept eating there--they've always been one of the better fast-food places. I should put one of my Jack antenna balls on my car...of course, somebody will probably try to steal it... |
