Hmmm, always tastes/smells like burnt sugar to me. Never developed a taste for it. The hard stuff messes my stomach anyway.

Until recently the upstairs freezer had a bottle of Bombay safire which was involved in a series of small spills ;)

Now there are 21 quarts of frozen strawberries, about 1/8 of a beefer in various cuts (was a 1/4) some ice, some pork roasts, about a half dozen tubs of hummus, some bananas with the skin on. (Why is this bad? Besides the horrible color and the impossibility of peeling them when they defrost. Maybe I answered my own question.)

18 pounds of cultured butter. Several chickens. Game hens coming soon!

5# of sundried tomatoes. A few pounds of frozen corn.

Downstairs freezer has more chicken, bacon, roasts, and some beef.

dove, burger meat, something that resembles burger meat from i guess a year ago, ice cream (blue bell - butter pecan and pistachio flavors), ice, various flavors of smoked sausage, the last of the snapper from may's offshore trip, um i think that about covers it.....

jaguar 06-23-2005 04:22 AM

that is sick cowhead, that's in the same league as babykilling.
- bottle of grey goose
- ice
- shot glasses
- frozen grapes
- large volume of soup and mysterious other containers all obscured by ice and firmly welded into the structure of the freezer now till i break out the icepick.

frozen bananas rock.

My new chest freezer will be delivered tomorrow. I will let it stabilise over the weekend and stock it come Monday. List to come! But I foresee a trip to the local butcher and BJs coming up!

Mostly the impossibility of peeling them. And the fact that they don't defrost as much as they melt. Once a banana has been frozen, it can never be thawed into a normal banana again. Try putting one of your frozen bananas in the sink and watching it thaw--you'll end up with an almost empty peel and a ton of liquid.

This sounds like it is in the realm of "don't try this at home" do you think you could just post an mpeg of it melting?

So the next question is WHY?

FOR GOD'S SAKE WHY?

Are they still viable for smoothies or are we into the slushie territory now?

I have made banana bread from them, but I think I blocked out the whole peeling process. There was that lost time episode though... :gray:

Clodfobble 06-23-2005 09:57 PM

I don't know how the liquefied banana would do in a smoothie, I just know I spent a long time sponging it all up off my refrigerator shelf. ;)

Left over cantalope? just freeze and eat like a popscycle? SP. I have deer meat, steak, pork loin, ground beef, bell peppers, okra, peas, blueberrys, brisket, shrimp, chicken breast, cube steak, pork chops, stri fri veges, and who gives a damn anyway?
When I put things in freezer down stairs, like leftovers, their, there? safe till I defrost again then dog food.

busterb 06-23-2005 10:18 PM

All that crap and just me & dog. Guess I need to work on my pickup lines huh? Only if the lady can wash dishes, I'll cook. :smack:

I am coming to your house.

I think I have about a dozen jeno's pizzas and some cheap pot pies. There might also be some old soup or beef/cabbage mixture for bierocks. Hmm....I am too lazy to look, so that is all. wait! There is some corn meal in there, too.

BigV 06-25-2005 12:51 AM

Hey Griff:

Thanks for this thread. I did a more careful inventory yesterday and found (!) a container of sliced turkey breast from last Thanksgiving. I put it in the fridge to defrost, thinking I'll give it to the dog. *ahem* Well, the dog and I shared it. It was delicious!
