I disagree, I've been influenced by many naked people. :p

New colours and haircut for Autumn.
As I am still growing out hair that has been coloured blonde, blue and red, the results are always a little unpredictable.

But I'm quite pleased with my fall of colour, from auburn to ?slightly green?
Means there won't be any dye coming off in the my new landlady's shower anyway, as this is a traditional over the counter hair colour.

I guess they never stop worrying about us...

Elspode 10-05-2008 12:11 PM

Lovely!

Shawnee123 10-06-2008 08:42 AM

Pretty color, and very shiny!

Happy Autumn!

Doug Kinney #3: You know how when you make a copy of a copy, it's not as sharp as... well... the original.

Cicero 10-06-2008 11:04 AM

Omg! It's glatt to infinity! Hold on to your hats folks!!! :) (and he has a lot of cameras)

You look as if you were just given your final exam. For a course you didn't even know you were registered for.

glatt 10-06-2008 04:35 PM

I thought so too, and was even looking for a picture of Saddam to photoshop. But it's too much work.

lookout123 10-06-2008 05:17 PM

I told you he wasn't dead.

ZenGum 10-06-2008 11:43 PM

Dude, there's $50,000,000 in this. Tell someone, quick!

P.S. Colour me stupid, but don't bass guitars usually have four strings?

Ibby 10-07-2008 04:36 AM

they usually do, but fancy basses can have five or even six strings... and with a name like my name is mud (which I'm assuming, in relation to the bass playing, is a reference to Primus?), i can imagine why he'd spring for a five-string.

Why? Does 5 seem like to many for ya?

ZenGum 10-07-2008 07:02 AM

No, but the ones I messed around on had four. I guess they were beginner models. That would explain the training wheels.

Up yours Merc :P I play a twelve-string. A TWELVE STRING, YOU HEAR ME??!! ;)

Well, I couldn't afford his neighborhood (Indian Hill :yelgreedy ) but it's only about 10 minutes from where I grew up!

I doubt he still looks like that picture though. :) Nice curls.

Do you feel like I do? :p

Pico and ME 10-07-2008 09:27 AM

He does look different...waaaaaay different. He was on one of those insurance commercials where a celebrity speaks along with an actual customer.

Pico and ME 10-07-2008 09:33 AM

My Name is Mud looks like Benicio del Toro.

Undertoad 10-07-2008 09:38 AM

Frampton nowadays from his website

http://cellar.org/2008/frampton.jpg

All my favorite musicians eventually become old Englishmen.

Meanwhile, bass content: low E has been the lowest note available to music for roughly 5 centuries. But modern technology allows us to enjoy these lower notes now, down to a low B, and they have been put to use in metal, amongst other genres.

I am occasionally called on to play lower notes than low E, but I prefer to tune a 4-string bass down to reach those notes. 5-stringers enjoy a thicker, wider neck and closer string spacing... but I don't.

RF last weekend. Note the slightly swollen eyeballs (from crying happy tears) and the slightly chewed lip (nervous habit!) These are both the night after I got my job offer, and I'm a bit beer buzzed as well. ;)

Pico and ME 10-07-2008 10:23 AM

Your happiness becomes you!

jinx 10-07-2008 10:25 AM

Nice one, er 2, Shawnee.

dar512 10-07-2008 10:26 AM

Nice pics Shawnee.

That left picture reminds me of Jamie Lee Curtis when she first meets Cleese in A Fish Called Wanda.

Are you kidding? not to be pedantic.. or a smartass... (or a pedantic smartass..) but, though I haven't looked, it's hard to believe any handheld instrument can beat an organ with 16 foot pipes for low notes. (Some organs today have 32 ft. pipes. I'm not sure if those were available in the 1700s, though, but 16 definitely were.)

But seriously.. how low can you tune it without the string getting too loose to be useful?

I've heard the JLC a lot, more so when my face was thinner.

Pedantic smartass? You rang?

32 ft pipes? What about the 20 Hz drum? I looked it up and I'm waay out of my league here. The references I found describe the lowest notes on a pipe organ range from 16 to 32 Hz... dang.

Later in my search, I found reference to a 128 foot pipe. That's when I quit looking. Wow.

Undertoad 10-07-2008 10:47 AM

Awesome S123, we want more.

Flint 10-07-2008 10:48 AM

what a load of bass-centric poppycock

Undertoad 10-07-2008 10:49 AM

Good point BigV, I was not paying attention to the pipe organs. Low E has been the lowest available to orchestras in general, not to all of music.

Flint 10-07-2008 10:53 AM

I think Pipe Organs are the most impressive instruments we've ever built. Impressive as far as raw power; also as far as the multi-tasking that has to happen in order to drive one of those things.

Sundae 10-07-2008 10:55 AM

Shawnee, finally!
Good to see you, I don't know what you were worried about - you're such a babe!

Cicero 10-07-2008 11:25 AM

Wow!! Shawnee photos! Hey! There's Shawnee! Finally! Jesus. I do notice the poor quality of the lens. You should take the crappy camera back!! ;)

Oh isn't Shawnee cute? It's just as I thought....She wasn't holding out because she was a an ugly monster.....Just being shy. Shawnee you look a lot like I thought you would. Funny how getting to know someone online for awhile gives an indicator of what they might look like. Not even using handy stereotypes.....I wonder about this sometimes.

Well I for one, am glad the peer pressure has finally paid off. :)

Shawnee123 10-07-2008 11:27 AM

I figured I'm making changes so this is a good time. I also felt that, with all the support and care I've been shown, it's selfish of me to be so vain and scared.

:)

glatt 10-07-2008 11:46 AM

It's not like this was the first time she posted a picture of herself.

But I agree, the Shawnee pictures are nice. Keep 'em comin'.

Cicero 10-07-2008 11:47 AM

Oh, well, where are the others?

glatt 10-07-2008 11:55 AM

Exactly. Not easy to search for a picture. It's probably in one of the dwellar picture threads or in the bag on dwellars thread. There's a picture of Brianna on a motorcycle somewhere around here too.

Yabbut it's a really lame one. She's, like, hardly even dressed.:p

glatt 10-07-2008 12:03 PM

Alright, I found Shawnee's old picture. It's the 2nd one.

Cicero 10-07-2008 12:12 PM

Aaah! I see! She seems to be getting younger with age, which really pisses me off!! :)

Thanks glatt!

I hate that picture! I look like someone tried to squeeze my head into an old Coca Cola bottle.

So here's one where I'm mad at ya:

glatt 10-07-2008 12:28 PM

That old picture is a good one. You've got a nice smile.

At least my linking to it prompted you to post another.

Shawnee123 10-07-2008 12:33 PM

I hate my teeth: I fell on the playground in 2nd grade, pushing a front (permanent) tooth into my head. I had surgery, then went with a partial plate until I was 18 and head my head had grown enough for caps with a bridge. Between that was braces (twice!) and a couple root canals. My parents wanted me to have nice teeth, and I am grateful for their investment.

However, that was a long time ago and I think it all needs replaced. My teeth aren't horrible but I don't like the way they look. Hopefully I'll be able to save some money soon and have it all re-done.

But, thanks.

classicman 10-07-2008 12:36 PM

S123 - nice to finally see ya.

Trilby 10-07-2008 12:37 PM

Ah, Shawnee is a cutie grrrrrrl! And, yes, the whole JLC vibe is strong in this one. Very nice, Shawnee----very nice.
Now. Go kick that HG out. You can get waaaay more better HG's than that one.

DucksNuts 10-07-2008 05:44 PM
