TEA parties are demonstrations. The biggest one on July 4 was over twenty thousand people, I believe? The one I was at had 3500, cumulative. The only security-type presence was a lady Garda employee. Who got amiably chatted up at the demonstration's end.

We may have had some resentful sort drive by us close and fast early on. But that was the sole instance of somebody pushing the envelope of public safety.

But nary a rubber bullet.

That's because the other 304,000,000 people were ignoring you.

Only when the demonstrators get violent and once in a blue moon a rogue cop.
