thanks!
yup. all of the lumber, the clamps i used for gluing, the dado cutter blade for my table saw, the glue, the levelers for the feet, the chisels, the nails, the butchers wax finish, etc... i'm their best friggin customer. the stain and the lid props on the chest are from Elverson supply, though. |
Did you put toybox hinges on the chest?
|
Looks pretty good. Post another when it's painted.

Last one for a while.

I wanted to make three of the spiky tape balls, with three different color schemes, so here's the third.
|
And here are all three together. The color pattern really changes the look.

This was one of those things that could have been posted in multiple threads, so I just created a new thread:

I do woodworking in my spare time.... mostly designing tables and chairs.
Only once in a while do i have the time to build them. Heres some of the stuff ive made in the past few years... (the cabinet when i was 10, the mirror 12, the table 14, im 16 now) |
You're clearly some kind of mutant prodigy.
Cool stuff! Are you like Norm Abrams kid or something? I have managed to narrowly avoid harming myself with power tools on several occasions. This is why I do textile crafts. |
Cool table. I haven't gotten into lots of curves in my furniture, partially due to the lack of a bandsaw, and partially due to what my mom complains is "old fashioned" taste in furniture. But I'm always impressed with smooth curves across joints.
|
Nice work, Rokko. Keep it up.:thumb:

hmmm, a lightening bolt cabinet at age 10........at least 2 guitars available in the back ground, and a wah pedal.......

Awesome variation! (I haven't had a sufficiently slow night at work to try making one of these yet, but I really want to.

To get started, I recommend an icosahedron. It hits the sweet spot between difficulty and looks.
Here's one way to put one together, using only three colors. |

those were as i found them in a file in my old computer(titles copied exactly). He figured out how to save them all by himself, but was very pissed off that he didn't know how to get them back once he did. He was closing the program, and saving them with the prompts that came up.

Don't you have a refrigerator Jim?;)

It's been a while but I've finally made another tape sculpture. This one is made of 700 equilateral triangles.
|
That's pretty cool HM, but you could've built another bookcase in the time that must have taken.
|
Maybe, but you can't watch TV and do woodwork at the same time. I cut myself with the X-acto knife enough - a chisel or drill would have been too much.
|
HM, maybe I missed this somewhere, but how are you adding color? markers?
They are very amazing things. |
Sharpie has come out, in the last few years, with a wonderful variety of permanent marker colors. I did a step-by-step earlier. :)

He's grinning because he knows something you don't! Or...he's grinning because he's hungry and you just happen to be close enough to consider edible. Or...he's grinning because he knows there's nothing quite as unsettling as seeing teeth like that smiling at you. Whatever the reason, you'd do well not to trust this guy.
|
One of your nightmares, Cyber? He wouldn't be smiling if he knew how bad I taste. :p
Nice drawing, what medium? |
Nah, Bruce, my nightmares tend to involve critters with 8 legs and a bad habit of dropping down right in front of me unannounced from the ceiling. :worried:
That's all mechanical pencil with #2 lead on bristol board. Took about an hour to do. |

I gave handmade Christmas presents this year. This is most of them. (I gave two of the smaller ones before I took the picture.) The small ones fit in the box.
|
HM, you've got way too much time on your hands.
|
I dunno...those tape sculptures look pretty cool to me. 3M must love Happy Monkey. How do you color 'em?
|
Go back to post 165 in this thread, Doc. ;)
|
Sharpie loves me too.
:rainfro: |
I signed on for an art class this semester (drawing). I'll let you know what new psychoses are revealed. :)

Are you going to redesign the Standard Ink Blots? :D

Not sure it's really "art" but here's a pic I did in Truespace a while back for a silly club we had at work called "Alcohol Related Stupidity Evening". Hence A.R.S.E. :D
