I did not know about the double-meaning . Thank you for explaining , Ridgeplate .

Yes , TopHat sounds brilliant in that respect . Very clever .

And what about the multiple meanings of Shotgun?

I have tenatively named her that...Permanence will be when I get her an ID tag, which is standard equipment on all my dogs in case of loss. RFID chips are not yet on the radar.

I will get a call when it is all over tomorrow. The report will be duly transmitted to this thread as soon as I can get online again.

TopHat is a great name. Shotgun is a great name. You can't go wrong with either of those.

Good job in saving this dog. You rock BrianR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BrianR revived it by giving an update, then people kept it going again.

Does the dog have a name yet?

There is a picture of me but the nice trucker who rescued me doesn't know how to resize it to send to you all.

For those of you who may have missed the original post - here it is, and yes BrianR, you DO rock!! Lucky dog - her name could very well be "Lucky" - not very original, though............

"Lady Luck" My daughher was recently in a ballet performance related to Lady Luck. Great theme. "Dance with the one that brought you to the dance." ... "Through all these things. 'Luck' be a lady tonight..."

Reading the first post, going through the thread, only one word came to mind.

"Tenacious"

OK

Shotgun (no more name suggestions please) came through the surgery well. She is now minus a tumour the size of a small lemon (Key Lime??) which the vet said didn't look malignant to him and I'm too cheap to pay $150 to find out for sure. I trust this guy. At last check, she was resting and sleeping off the meds. Since she sleeps almost all day anyway, how do I tell when she's done? LOL

She gets the stitches out in two weeks and that's when we start looking into her eyes and the possibility of repairing them. If not, she's as good as she is going to get. She has started eating kibble so we're waiting to see if her tartar problem goes away or if we have to take her to the doggie dentist for a teeth cleaning. I'm planning on posting a picture of her at that truck stop the next time I'm there, with a note saying something like: "Found, one dog. part corgi, overall black. Poor health, eyes, ears and internals fucked up. After a good bath, brushout, another bath and several vet visits and around $1000 invested, I now have a good happy dog and whoever lost her, shame on you for neglecting her that way!"

or something.

I will visit her in September and will finally get a few pics to share.
PS How do I get photos off my cell phone without emailing them to myself?

Depends on the cellphone, and whether there is a USB cable and kit for it.

I'm cheap. I email pics to myself.
