Yes it is. I'd like to post a speech some butthole made in the MS. senate or house years ago when MS. was trying to go wet. Boy did he have it down.

I don't think you can call your story thread "buster's bullshit", bb. This guy apparently holds the actual copyright to bullshit, and he doesn't seem likely to give it up.
|
Er - why is it bullshit? Isn't he just saying that drink is a double-edged sword - that it can be one thing to one person and quite different to another? I particularly like the end note 'This is my stand and I will not compromise it' because he has presented two conflicting arguments and acknowledged that there is never a straightfoward answer.
Or something like that. :shrugs: |
it's standard politicking, that's why. (in deepest georgian plantation accent): "Ah am firmly on both sides of the argument, and ah will not be moved!"
tendah cayah for owah prayshush childrennnnn. eh. the accent doesn't translate to text, but busterb knows the one I mean. |
Actually, he's saying that there should be different drinking rules for different people and, since government can't do that, those rules will have to be handled by the individuals in question.
How do I get that? 1) He describes the results of alcoholism 2) He describes the effects of moderate alcohol use 3) He chides people for trying to force him to get into a "with us or against us" absolutist stand. 4) The structure of his speech is satirizing the current (at the time) political debate, implying that it's a waste of government time. |
Catwoman. Check the motorcycle fever thread & you'll see why he said buster's bullshit.
HM. I think that was a great job. cheers |
