Dude, the punches were from 1 yard out ...the Dolphins did stop the man all day. And you can't be happy with your team.
You allowed 20 points from the worst offence in the NFL.
The Bears are gonna kick your butt next week, and the Redskins are gonna win the division easily.

lumberjim 09-17-2007 11:25 PM

oh. i didnt realize you were a hater.

is the 1 yard line in the red zone or not?

the cowboys have a very potent offenSe. The Bears are a tough team, I admit....and they might win......but the Cowboys wont suck ass like the eagles did against the redskins tonight!

W.HI.P 09-17-2007 11:29 PM

A hater of who?
The man got stopped all night long.
And the Cowboys defence sucks.
You see what it says in my signature?
Well, thats what its all about, and your team ain't got any of it.
and dude...The redskins were my money maker tonight.
As you can see, i don't just follow my team blindly.
I see a superior team and I wager house against my Eagles.
6-0 will the Redskins go against the division this year, just watch.

lumberjim 09-17-2007 11:35 PM

a cowboys hater, of course.....most eagles fans are....understandably.

and yes, i fear you're right. The boys Defense is seriously troubled. Scoring 41 pts per game is a good way of compensating to it. the best defense is a good offense? 89 yards and 2 TDs from a backup RB is being stopped?

i dont gamble, whip.....but i do talk shit. thanks for playing

W.HI.P 09-17-2007 11:36 PM

Lets put it this way....when was the last time a team won a superbowl without a defence?

lumberjim 09-17-2007 11:45 PM

the superbowl is a long way off. And defenses are about teamwork. that shit can change in a season. I'm not saying I EXPECT the cowboys to take it all the way, but.....i do think they will win the division. forgetthe foreskins.

College Football Pointspread
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Penn State(-2,5) @ Michigan

So Michigan beat the Irish, Big deal.
Penn State is amongst the absolute elite this year.
I won't be suprised if they went undefeated this year.
This game is a joke.
Easy win for Penn State.

Bet on Penn State!

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Georgia @ Alabama(-3,5)

Alabama last week faced a team without a defence and scored multiple points. This week their offence won't look so good.
Georgia should be the favorites here, not Alabama.

Bet on Georgia

W.HI.P 09-19-2007 11:08 PM

N.F.L Week 3
*~*~*~*~*~*

Arizona Cardinals @ Baltimore Ravens(-7,5)

This should be a low scoring game, as Arizona's offence is gonna have a hard time passing like they do against this defence.
On the other hand the Ravens offence is well under par.
Leaning towards the Cardinals, but the under looks to be the wise bet.

Bet on the UNDER(34,5)

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Miami Dolphins @ New York Jets(-3,0)

The Jets offence looks crippled as it is, not that the Dolphins is any better though.
The Dolphins defence should shine in this one.
I'm close to picking the Dolphins here, but yet again, the under looks the best.

Bet on the UNDER(35,5)

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

San Diego Chargers(-5,5) @ Green Bay Packers

The game is a joke.
On the one side you got a team thats superbowl bound, and on the other a team that will finish below .500.
On the safe side, take the win +4.

Bet on the Chargers(win by 4=1,80)

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Minnesota Vikings @ Kansas City Chiefs(-2,5)

The spread is right on the money given that its in KC.
Although Adrian Peterson looks a lot better than Larry Johnson so far.

Avoid

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

San Fransisco 49ers @ Pitchberg Steelers(-9,5)

This is a pure running afair. Tick tock goes the clock, game over.
Frank Gore will bruise this above par defence and score, making this an easy pick.

Bet on the 49ers

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

St.Louis Rams @ Tampa Bay Bucs(-4,5)

lol, the Bucs didn't kill the Saints last week cause they have a good team. Its because the Saints suck.
Yes of course this is a gimme on the Rams, I won't tell you not to bet on it. The fact is, that the Bucs do have a good defence with Kiffin running things. I will avoid this, but if you must take the rams, go ahead.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Indianapolis Colts(-7,0) @ Houston Texans

Impressive win yet again for the Texans, but don't fool yourself, they will be below .500 for the year, and with the Colts who have a legitimate shot at repeating, this looks like a blow-out.
But just as the one above, i will avoid it.
But if you must, of course the Colts.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Buffalo Bills @ New England Patriots(-17,5)

Hell, even you brainwashed dudes should have enough sense to take the Bills here.

Bet on the Bills

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Detroit Lions @ Philadelphia Eagles(-4,5)

This looks pretty funny. The Lions @ 2-0 and the Eagles at 0-2.
False realities present in the NFL at the moment
For safety purposes, take the +4 win.

Bet on the Eagles(Win by4=1,80)

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Cincinnati Bengals @ Seattle Seahawks(-3,5)

This is an early christmas present as the Bengals will most certainly win this pretty easily. Add to that the 3,5 security blanket and you've got an easy bet.

Bet on the Bengals!

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Denver Broncos(-3,5)

What happened to the Jaguars winning the superbowl?
lol ...well this one is a pretty close matchup with 2 great defences.
35,5 isn't much, but i can't see too man touchdowns being scored in this one.

Bet on the Under(35,5)

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Clevland Browns @ Oakland Raiders(-3,0)

I don't underestimate either team as they are both on the rise.
Its too early to questions motives, however i will and avoid.

Avoid

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Carolina Panthers @ Atlanta Falcons

What a weak division eh?
It looks like it will be determined by the games amongst them, and these are actually the 2 teams tryna win it.
I think the panthers are better and should win this, but I don't like the spread, so avoid.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

New York Giants @ Washington redskins(-4,5)

As I said last week, the Redskins will go 6-0 against this division as they are made up for it with their amazing pass defence and their running game with the 1-2 Portis and Betts running behind an OL that knows nothing else.
Again for safety reasons, take the +4 win.

Bet on the Redskins(win by 4=1,80)

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Dallas Cowboys @ Chicago Bears(-3,0)

The best defence in the NFL against the worst defence in the NFL
Hrmm, I wonder who will win, lol....

Bet on the Bears!!!

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Tennessee Titans @ New Orlean Saints

I'm sure you all can see my point last year and this that the Saints last year was charity.
The Saints were a 3-13 team 2 years ago, they were a 3-13 team last year, and their a 3-13 team this year. Comprende?

best defense in the league against the biggest O-line, and a honest to goodness gunslinger of a QB. I'm really liking the job Jason Garrett is doing as O coord. can't run? ok, pass every down.

And Barber is just touchdown prone. he seems to fall into the endzone.

14 yards rushing I believe. It is time to start believing in Tomlinson's men. I think the AFC/NFC disparity was on display. But I'm a fan wearing the rose colored glasses who didn't get to see his team because the NFL fiddled with the broadcast rules and I don't have the NFL ticket.

If I am to give you a gift this year, this is it:
The New England Patriots Can't win the superbowl this year.
Please understand that this game is run by money.
The money this year is on the Patriots.
Media wise.
Opinion wise.
and Display.
These are the things that trigger the masses to wager.
The money here will be collected, condemning any chance of the Patriots winning the superbowl this year.
The teams structure condemns its nearby future (2009 2009 2010).
Salary cap is now at its limits for next year.
Time to restart. Bebuild.
I look forward to seeing the work on this team between now and 2011.
Miami also lives in its final year before the old are too old, and the young are not ready.
This league belongs to the New York Jets and the Buffalo Bills for the next 3 years. I think Buffalo has grasped this, and wisely will give up this year for a top 3 draft.
If I was Buffalo, I seriously would look at getting the #1 draft pick to pick up that superstar from the NCAAF for my teams future.
If that happens, Buffalo would own the AFC East for the next decade.

Notice in my long term bets, I have avoided this division.
I've only chosen the Bengals for AFC Champions as The Patriots are out(explained above) and The Colts and Chargers rely on key units who may or may not last the season.
The real teams save their best for the playoffs.
The Pitchberg Steelers are impressive no doubt.
Defence and Offence.
The offence is what suprises as the defence we knew about.
Still far from what they were 4 years ago(elite).
The Browns are starting to click, HOWEVER!!!
Quinn is great but there is a Superstar in the NCAAF, it must be tempting, I mean think of how amazing this division will be if Clevland decides to go #1 in the draft.
I must say that there will be more than 1 teams competing for this draft pick which will result in more losses for above average teams.
2-14 should get it, I wonder who it will be?
The Baltimore Ravens remain a powerhouse with their strategic draft picks($).
Building a defence like this is amazing.
Offence would make them unbeatable.
......but, thats not happening yet.

The Indianapolis Colts can repeat.
The true favorites of the AFC, holding the best Quarterback in history:Peyton Manning. The franchise is also managing itself superbly and knows its priorities and follows plan perfectly(predictably).
The Titans are also playoff bound as Vince Young grows to very respectable levels in what will be an amazing career in the NFL, So its the Colts and the Titans for the next few years.
The Jacksonville Jaguars have a pretty good defence, but again, the offence is not the kind that can preform at a playoff level.
The Texans obviously improved.
Green at Running back and A.Johnson as Wide reciever makes this team entertaining to watch, its gun-ho mentality of last year is starting to work wonders with the proper tools.
The defence is not quite there yet.

I don't think there's any doubt in anyones mind regarding this division.
The San Diego Chargers are EASILY gonna win this division.
Again, the decisions of this franchise have been remarkable, and deserve respect. If it wasn't for the Colts, this team would be by far the #1 favorites to win the AFC Championship.
The Broncos, the Raiders and the Chiefs should be happy with a .500 record again
ALTHOUGH, that #1 draft pick next year is quite tempting.
I would not be suprised if a team in this division went 3-13 in attempt to pick him up.

The Eagles and the Redskins are the 2 true contenders for the superbowl this year from the NFC.
The Dallas Cowboys still have to play 2 games against the Philadelphia Eagles, 2 games against the Washington Redskins for this division.
Mcnnab and Portis.
This Redskins defence does look better than the Eagles so far.
The Eagles offence is what makes them superbowl contenders.
NYG:My harsh words against E.Manning last year were just.
They simply do not remain so this year as he has clearly improved.
Without Jacobs, this team remains good, however most of you still haven't quite understood how good this running back actually is.

How much you wanna bet that they'll win all 3?
Chicago remains the 3rd favorites to make it to the superbowl from the NFC
Look at them Packers eh?
Honestly though, do you really think Brett can last the year?
Please lets not forget the mans age. (Much respect)
Impressive offence from the Lions, but the defence just isn't there.
Adrian Peterson is quite impressive with his 146,6 yards per game running and recieving!
The Vikings have improved a little against the pass, but its still not good enough to be a serious contender yet, however, the future looks bright!
If I owned the Bears???????
I would lose the next 13 games of the season and win 7 of the next 10 superbowls

A one horse race this division as predicted.
Carolina's defence remains elite, their offence although with a remarkable tool, is one dimensional when it counts.
No disrespect to the Bucs, Kiffin has my highest respect.
The offence also preforming from a miserable year to a respectable level. Thank Garcia's passing through the Eagles formation last year!
So yeah, the Bucs will be 2nd!
Atlanta will have a very exciting decade if they manage to get the #1 draft pick. Lose lose lose, who the F was Vick they'll say, look at this guy(I'm sure you all know who i'm talking about....you watch NCAAF, don't you?)
I don't have to keep repeating myself about the New Orlean Saints do I?

This division reminds me of the National League West in Baseball
SF Giants, Colorado Rockies, San Diego Padres, LA Dodgers and the Arizona Cardinals. It doesn't really matter who wins the division, they are so inferior to the rest of the teams that will be in the playoffs, that its without hopes.
Gore is amazing, but the holes remain in SF.
Great coaching for the Seahawks, but they lack the tools.
The Cardinals are a great looking team from a lot of angles, but coaching has been the main issue over the past few years.
The Rams are 0-3, suprising most, but then again....could they also be looking at the upcoming draft?

NCAAF #1 draft pick: Darren McFadden D.O.B: August 27, 1987
His speed, power, catch, throw are superb.
He is a super-athlete!
Will bring any team in the NFL to another level.
There will be huge competition for him in the draft, that translates in teams loosing multiple games in order to obtain him.
So if you're a fan of a team thats 0-3, hope to go 0-5 and 0-6 etc etc.
This is the guy you want on your team.
This is sacrifice year.

Seattle Seahawks(-2.5) @ San Fransisco 49ers
What is it about the Seahawks that you saw this year that you like?
The division belongs to the 49ers, this game is putting a foot down.
Add the security blanket of the 2.5 points, and you've got a good bet.

Bet on the 49ers
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Pitchberg Steelers(-6.5) @ Arizona Cardinals
Please tell me you're not actually looking at the steelers like they're a team that can actualy win something this year.
Arizona has looked pretty good this year, but the coaching just keeps getting worse. WTF are they doing over there in Arizona?
Make up your friggin minds who's gonna be playing.
This isn't high school, get some staff to accompany this high end offence.
The division is yours for the taking!
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Kansas City Chiefs @ San Diego Chargers(-12.5)
The spread looks about right here..a win is a win.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Denver Broncos @ Indianapolis Colts(-10.5)
Wayne is gonna have a career day, and A.Gonzales will shine with Harrison covered by Champ. You can also expect that loooong pass down the middle for Addai like they practiced in the pre-season successfully. Easy win for the Colts, but the spread again is the obstacle here.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Philadelphia Eagles(2.5) @ New York Giants
Week 1, i told you all not bet on the Eagles as offences like this need time to gel.
Week 2, i told you that the best bet of the week was washington over Phillie in Phillie.
Week 3, I gave you the Eagles, and they hold this years record for most points scored.
i suppose thats 100% on my team this year.
I'll keep it up, easy win for the Eagles here, 2.5 points is nothing.

Bet on the Eagles!!!!!!!!!!!
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
New England Patriots(-7.5) @ Cincinnati Bengals
What would have been an easy pick here is now dubious as R.Johnson looks to be out this week for the Bengals.
dime and quarter will the patriots play making it tough for this superior offence to shine.

Mr.Lumberjim, I haven't lost anything.
I called the 2007 superbowl, the 2007 stanley cup.
The world series is looking very promising for my Angles, Indians and Cubs.
The 2008 superbowl?
Dude, its week 4.
Do you really think the Lions or the Packers are gonna finish in a playoff position? If you do, you've got no idea about the game.
Last year they had you all going about the Panthers, the Cowboys and the Saints and ya'll ate it up with a spoon.
This year they've really got you all hyped up about the Cowboys and the Patriots, but neither stand a chance at the superbowl.
Its all pre-determined.
My long term predictions have all been solid, and thats not going to be changing in this NFL season.
However, McFadden may deter top notch teams from winning any matches from here on out.
A player of his calibure has not been seen.....Ever
A team like Miami may end up trading off that 1st pick overall to a 3rd-5th pick and a player as they set out for a lineman(Brown is too good to get another RB)

They're playing a new game.
My picks remain the same.
The one and only team I underestimated was the Bucs.
LumberJim...Get back to me after the Redskins beat the Cowboys in both of their match-ups this year.

lumberjim 10-01-2007 09:42 AM

dude. you got ALL your NFL picks wrong. 0-5 this week. that's all I was saying. sorry. I didnt mean to insult you. i still appreciate your insights and the effort you put in to post the picks. I'm just a heckler. don't mind me.

[trash talking] oh, and what were you saying about how good donovan mcsackedtwelvetimesinonegame is[/tt]

W.HI.P 10-01-2007 09:50 AM

The Giants are specialists at sacks, and they are a good team.
Never have I said otherwise.
The Eagles have a soloution for Pass-rush:B.Westbrook.
If they rush Donovan, he just has to toss it over to Brian.
Brian missed the game which resulted in the mcsackedtwelvetimesinonegame.

The truth is, I've already lost 25% of the money I won last year in the NFL.
But I'm not disapointed at all, as my long term superbowl bets have yet to be placed. And thats a blessing, cause the prices i've got right now in this false reality dispay of the standings will lead me to a true fortune.

If my memory serves me correctly, when I first arrived at the Cellar, you were amongst the first to introduce yourself to me, hiding nothing of your personality.
Blessed Be

At one point in this thread in last years NFL season I mention how I was in dialogue with 2 different international companies.
Later, I again mention the results of one of those dialogues.
Again and then again, I mention my new found employers.
If you look close enough, you will find that this season, I am as accurate as I was last year.
Only, I'm working against you instead of for you.
Did you honestly believe one could change so drastically over one season?

xoxoxoBruce 10-02-2007 04:36 PM

I'm not talking about you. You don't set the points spread. With the points spread that far off, doesn't that show most people were thinking (betting) way wrong?

Actually, that is exactly what I do.

Thats the point!
Funny thing is, it'll be even worse for the rest of the season.
You'll see more pre-determined results this year than any other.

At the end of the season, take a look at the standings and compare them to the standings in week 4 to see how far off reality presented itself.

nflstradamus 10-06-2007 11:10 AM

Whip is MIA (probably because he's lost on so many picks lol) so I'm throwing my hat into the ring. (Can't be any worse than Whip j/k)

NFLSTRADAMUS 5 LOCKS OF THE WEEK

Detroit @ Washington -4

The Lions are a pass first offense and I think the Redskins secondary will be prepared. The Redskins should be able to run the ball on the Lions easily. I also think it will be a close one, maybe a field goal game which means the Lions should be able to cover the spread.

Bet: Lions

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Baltimore -4 @ San Francisco

Trent Dilfer is going to have to pull off a miracle here to win which I doubt will happen. The 49ers will probably try to run Frank Gore as much as possible but he's going to have some trouble against this top 10 defense.

Bet: Baltimore

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Chicago @ Greenbay -5

The Bears are too banged up right now and we need a QB and a RB to show up which I doubt will happen. Favre + Lambeau + Prime Time= Win.

Bet: Green Bay

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Carolina @ New Orleans -3

I'm hoping the Saints learned a few things from their first 3 games during their bye week. I expect them to be fined tuned going up against David Carr and the Kittens.

Bet: New Orleans

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Arizona -4 @ St. Louis

The Rams are way way too banged up and I doubt Gus Frerotte is going to come in and turn things around. Easy pick here.

Bet: Arizona

NFL Pointspread week 5
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Detroit Lions @ Washinton Redskins(-3.5)

The Redskins are my long shot superbowl call.
Their pass defence is elite forcing any team to run against them.
They run the ball making their games a running afair.
This makes them favorites to win every game as their running game is beter than the rest of the teams in the NFC.
Detroit couldn't run the ball if their life depend on it, making this game the best bet of the week.

Bet on the Redskins!!!

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Carolina Panthers @ New Orlean Saints(-3.0)

Lets see, The Panthers offence kills this defence, S.Smith will have an amazing game.... on the other hand the Saints are without their #1 RB ....unless of course you thought Bush was their #1 ....no, he wasn't, lol. So yeah, the Saints are less than.

Bet on the Panthers

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
San Diego Chargers @ Denver Broncos(-1.5)

Great teams come into form later in the season.
Fact is, the Chargers are running out of time here, this game is too important. The Chargers are better than they were last year where they easily beat these Broncos. The Broncos main weapon will not be much use here as WR's are not one of the options for the Chargers offence. The best runnning back in the NFL will play better for this occasion.

Bet on the Chargers!

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Chicago Bears @ Green Bay Packers(-4.5)

OK, the Bears are all banged up, and their offence looks really bad.
add to that the possibility that they might actually be after Darren McFadden in the upoming draft and you've got what looks like a great bet on the Pakers.
I will be very happy should the Mcfadden story be true as it would make the Bears unbeatable in the years to come.
However I will not buy into that theory until the team goes 1-6.
Till then, this is a playoff team and the Packers are not.

Bet on the Bears

W.HI.P 10-07-2007 10:45 PM

Chicago Bears 27-20 Green Bay Packers(-4.5) ..........=WIN

ah, now...that's more like it. do you, by chance know this nflstradamus person? he seems to be your lucky charm....at any rate, he took the MUSH of the week honors.

W.HI.P 10-07-2007 10:59 PM

I have no idea who that is.
Could be a Torontonian though, there are quite a few that look in here.

No matter how the NFL may seem to some, its just like last year.
Reality had it that the best teams made it to the end no matter what they were trying to sell.
This year, its the Colts and the Chargers from the AFC.
From the NFC, its the Redskins.
Bears and the Eagles ae the most capable to challenge the Redskins.
Forget about the Patriots and the Cowboys.($$$controls the game!)
I'm sure you've all forgotten about the Saints by now(early favorite from the NFC)

Lets see if my long shot Indians can take the world series now!

NFL Pointspread Week-6
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Cincinnati Bengals(-3.0) @ Kansas City Chiefs

There's not much of a competition in this one, its gonna be a very easy win for these Bengals.
What ever happened to that mythical contract L.Johnson got?
Did it make him soft? Nah-uh ...he was never worthy of it.
Now that the OL is dying down, the only thing they got left is Mr. Gonzales.
On the other side, the Bengals run defence still struggles, but it ain't close to as bad as it was last year, and as far as the offence is concerned? Its of the absolute elite, and there ain't nothing that the chiefs will be able to do about it.
One of the best bets of the week

Bet on the Bengals!!!
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Houston Texans @ Jacksonville Jaguars(-6.5)

So we've now come to realize that the Jaguars ain't no superbowl contender, however, they are a good team all round.
Houston is much much better than last year, with its plentyfull WR's and a decent RB. They are without key weapons again this week making them huge underdogs. The win for the Jaguars seems innevitable, and it seems more than likely that the spread will be covered. So with some hesitation.....

Bet on the Jaguars
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Miami Dolphins @ Clevland Browns(-6.5)

It seems as though Miami's in the exact same position Clevland was in last year looking for a top 3 draft pick, and why not that very expensive #1 that they could trade off for a #3-6 and a player?
That aside, Clevland's offence is on fire, and its the kind that Miami can't stop.
What really makes me pick this one is what i saw last week with the Dolphins..they're not trying anymore, or better yet, they're trying really hard to lose.

Bet on the Browns
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Minnesota Vikings @ Chicago Bears(-6.5)

Adrian Peterson is the one thing thats keeping Vikings fans alive.
Their pass defence is not the worst anymore like it was last year, but its still under par. On the other hand, the Bears banged up or not, are a playoff team and should win this game. The spread makes me hesitate, but what the hell....

Bet on the Bears
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Philadelphia Eagles(-3.0) @ New York Jets

This game isn't about the Jets so much, as their units are well above par and are capable of beating any team any given week.
The Eagles come off a week of well needed rest.
Donovan after his amazing week against Detroit got beaten up from the pass-rushing Giants without the Short option westbrook and Smith. This is not the case this week, this will be an easy win for the Eagles, I can't see how the Jets can stop them.
One of the best bets of the week

Bet on the Eagles!!!
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

St.Louis Rams @ Baltimore Ravens(-9.5)

So the Rams are missing key players, but the fact is, their replacments aren't half bad.
The Ravens are not impressing anyone with their incapable offence.
Although very hesitant as the Ravens are capable of totally taking this game by the throat, on the other hand, I would not be suprised at all if the Rams pulled off the upset of the week and actually won this game. So with the spread so large, I'm taking a shot at it.

Bet on the Rams
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Tennessee Titans @ Tampa Bay Bucs(-3.0)

So Vince had an off week, do you really think thats gonna continue here? Although both defences are above par, I have a feeling both offences will run well making this a shoot out, which makes it dangerous, however, i think its just as likely to end up a win for the Titans. With the spread, i'm gonna take the Titans.

Bet on the Titans
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Washington Redskins @ Green Bay Packers(-3.5)

Thank you sooooo much for this gift this week.
It gives me a base.
By far the best bet of the week!!!
There is one thing that you can't do against Washington.
You can't pass the ball, as their Safeties and Corners are elite.
Again the Redskins face a passing team, and specifically a man thats too old for the game and who's always had bad judgement.
I mean, He's thrown more interceptions than any other QB in the game. You can't do that..not againts this superbowl Redskins team.
The redskins offence? Well, all you have to do is watch.
From what it looks like, they're also very wise, protecting their key weapons with small work loads.
I don't think any bet wagered this week by anybody should not involve this game as it is a gimme.

Bet on the Redskins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Carolina Panthers @ Arizona Cardinals(-4.5)

This will be a very close game. Both teams are preforming to their full potential one week or the next, and they're pretty closely matched.
I don't see why one team should give points to another, so yeah. given the 4.5 ...I'm going Carolina.

Bet on the Panthers
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

New England Patriots(-6.5) @ Dallas Cowboys

I was talking about this game the other day with a few people.
IMO, these two teams are less than they seem, and neither are superbowl contenders.
The $$$ factor guarentees it.
To the game, Dallas is what it is. A very good offence, and an under par defence. New England is above par in both areas, but this game won't be about that. It'll be close. Neither team should die here. The spread does not make sense as this game is gonna be played in Dallas, and Romo ain't gonna be picked off 17 times like he was against Buffalo....ok, so it wasn't that much, but it would have been had they played a few more quarters.
Tactics will play a huge role, the team that stays conservative will outlast the other, and knowing Brady and his homerun nature, maybe the cowboys actually take the game, we'll see.
so even though I hesitate.

Bet on the Cowboys
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Oakland Raiders @ San Diego Chargers(-10.5)

You think 10.5 points is a lot?

Bet on the Chargers
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

New Orlean Saints @ Seattle Seahawks(-7.5)

Ok Saints...thank you very much for proving my point that it was all about charity last year, now go out and beat this under par Seahawks team and give me another win on the week.(Mccalister was the one and only thing this team had going for them).
I'm not saying they'll win, but 3-13 divided is pretty close to 1-4, so I won't be suprised ..not against silly Seattle.

Bet on the Saints
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

New York Giants(-3.5) @ Atlanta Falcons

One of the best bets of the week
The Giants are a good team with good weapons all around but also various holes. But the Falcons already had a below par defence last year, add to that the multiple problems in the offence, i mean Dunn and Norwood? Give me a friggin break, I don't care if superman comes and plays QB for this team, its not saving F-all this year.
Only Mcfadden can take this team to anothe level and that means 1-15 or 2-14.
They don't need any motives here to lose as the Giants have proven superior by far.

Bet on the Giants!!!
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Since I am too lazy to do so, could you please give us a quick won/lost YTD tally?

lumberjim 10-10-2007 07:05 PM

dallas's D: 8th in yards allowed, 13th in points allowed. they came out weak in the 1st couple games, but have improved every week. Keep in mind that they actually only gave up 3 points to the Bills last week. The offense gave up 14 and the special teams, 7. I think you'll see a different Cowboys game plan against the Pats....Ball control will be more important, because the best way to keep Brady from lighting you up is to keep the ball out of his hands.

tru_piks_4u 10-14-2007 12:22 AM

sorry bout the wait

CIN 3.5 @ KC
kansas citys d is bad on the run which opens up a pass game for one of the best passing offences in the league. a good pass d but too old to keep up with chad and tj. lj shuld have the best game off his slow season but that wont be enough for this explosive offence.
EASY PIK CINCY

PHI 3.5 @ NYJ
donovan mcnabb and brian westbrook are going to do to the jets what they did to the lions. simple.
EASY PIK PHILLY

STL @ BAL 8.5
stl has injuries on offence and bal has a banged up d. 8.5 points to a team who scores more fg than they do td makes me jump all over stl. take the under cuz this game shuld look something like 19-13 at most for baltimore.
TAKE STL

WAS @ GB 3.5
favre will look like last years favre. the rushing attack could get stopped with was front four. washington wont throw the ball well but will run and shuld win this game by a fg.

NE 6.5 @ DAL
how many more double-digit wins does this team need to get for a yall to start respecting them. ne has covered big spreads all year long. theyve played against better offences in cincy and sd and shut them down. dallas defence has played well against chi and stl (whos offences are horrible. meaning dallas gets shut down and ne scores points again. at the end of the day this is goint to be a battle on who will block better. ne brings the heat better than anyone in the league. not that dallas doesnt bring heat but ne doesnt allow it. the only that stops ne winning a super bowl is peyton manning. GIVE THEM RESPECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TAKE NE

9 wins out of 13 games with the base going through!!
2 amazing weeks, more to follow!

However, week 7 looks like a tough one.
No base in sight as of now.... we'll see.

NFL Pointspread - Week #7
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Arizona Cardinals @ Washington Redskins(-7.5)

The Redskins's corner-back's and safeties take out Larry Fitzgerald by double teaming him yet also are able to blitz with Anquan Boldin out.
Arizona's WR's together they are amazing, yet when one's missing they become less effective as an offence.
There are a few holes in the Arizona defence, despite looking pretty good so far.
The Redskins WR's did look banged up in last week's game.
I don't buy the Portis limp, IMO, it's called "protecting your weapons"(one of the most important things if one is capable of winning the NFC.)
The Redskins will not let this one slip away, the will secure it before its over.

Bet on the Redskins

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Atlanta Falcons @ New Orlean Saints(-9.5)

Please don't start buying the Saints... its not real, not without Deuce McAllister.
Most importantly don't buy the defence as it is of the absolute worst at this time.
Ok, ok....Atlanta looks pretty bad.... could it be the franchise's decision to obtain Mcfadden?
Still though, a decent outing is not out of the question for the falcons...
A respetable loss maybe.
This is certainly NOT a 9,5 point game.

Bet on the Falcons

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Pittsburgh Steelers(-4.5) @ Denver Broncos

Willie Parker will be limited in this game as the Broncos have the passing game all wrapped up in these particular match-ups.
Even with the respect I have for the Steelers defence at this time, I would have to believe that the Broncos at home would beat the Steelers with at least a few points in this low scoring affair.

Bet on the Broncos

Bet on the Under(39.5)

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Indianapolis Colts(-3.5) @ Jacksonville Jaguars

Stay tune for the prediction here.
Keep in mind that it is a monday night game and highly wagered upon.
The under also seems like a good option as the Colts, even if they put it away, will protect their key weapons and go with the run.
Take the lead, manage the clock, the Colts defence is quick, which results in the clock ticking as tackles are common(no time to get outside on these colts).
Low scoring afair.

Take the Under

IM GOING TO MARK 5 GAMES AS MY FAV 5. THE REST ARE STILL TRU PIKS

ari @ was 7.5
if larry fitzgerald can throw the ball to himself i would take arizona. there is no way arizona puts more than 10 points. washington wins this game easy 28-10.
TAKE WASHINGTON (FAV)

atl @ nwo 9.5
this two weeks in a row where the nwo offence has started to look form again. i see that happening again this week. nwo will spread the field and expose the holes atlanta has on defence. in nwo, trying to keep their season alive.
TAKE NWO

bal 3 @ buf
a true test for rookie qb trent edwards. this is a test that he will fail horribly. lynch will have his worst game as a pro going up against the best run d in the league. willis is going to see a lot of touches against his former team and do well with those touches.
TAKE BAL (FAV)

ne 17.5 @ mia
do we have respect for them yet?
TAKE NE

sf @ nyg 9.5
san frans d is good but with key injuries on their offence the d is going to see alot of field. the giants score alot of points on a tired d for a big win at home.
TAKE THE GMEN (FAV)

tb @ det 2.5
martz vs. kiffin. this is going to be a battle between coordinators. with tb have the edge on a better offence to detroits defence i like tb to win this game and kiffin to beat martz.
TB WINS THE GAME (FAV)

ten 1.5 @ hou
all tennessee has to do is run the ball well and with or without young they should win this game by at least a fg. the titans d will stop green and the running game and without a. johnson the titans should be able to stop shaub.
TAKE TEN

kc @ oak 2.5
the chiefs are hot right now and their age on d proved me wrong last week. oakland looks good this year but hey are still a couple years away from the playoffs. so sorry to burst your bubbles raider fans they arent winning the division or making the playoffs. with a chiefs upset road win you will start to see the picture a little more clear.
TAKE KC

nyj @ cin 6.5
this will be a shootout with cincy winning it. they should win by at least a td. two horrible defences, cincys offence and it doesnt matter what offence plays cincys d.
TAKE CINCY

min @ dal 9.5
peterson will have another field day opening up the pass against a week pass d. dont expect barber or jones to run (so bench em if u have em on ur fantasy team). romo plays well but i like minny to keep it close.
TAKE MINNY

chi @ phi 4.5
i cant see chicago scoring points and hester is due to not get a return. westrbook has a big game receiving the ball. philly spreads the field and wins the game by td.
TAKE PHILLY

stl @ sea 9.5
this is a division game between a division that rarely blows out each other. with bulger comin back this game should be closer.
TAKE STL

pit 4.5 @ den
a defencive battle in mile high. denver will win that battle. henry and parker will have equal games. big ben wont be able to throw against the best duo in the league. if cutler gets protection he will throw well.
TAKE DEN

ind 3.5 @ jax
with addai and harrison expected to come back they will win this game. jones drew has a big game but not enough for peyton. this is going to be a great game but i see indy winning by 4-7 points.
TAKE INDY

tru_piks_4u 10-17-2007 01:58 PM

denver is my 5th fav 5

N.H.L - Long term

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Eastern Conference Champion

Enjoy it while you can, cause this Crosby, Malkin, Gonchar, Whitney show won't go on forever... 2-3 years maximum.
The Thrasher although off to a slow start and having an under par defence, are capable of coming to form and dominating.
Hossa and Kovalchuk are the best 1-2 in the NHL IMO.
Ovechkin and Semin rank #2.
Pittsburg + Washington will dominate this weak Eastern conference for the next 3 years.

Pittsburgh Penguins = 6.50
Atlanta Thrashers = 26.00
Washington Capitols = 34.00

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Western Conference Champion

3 years ago when I said that Chris Pronger is by far, the best hockey player in the world, people laughed at me.
He took the Oilers to the stanley cup (it paid 100/1).
Then he won it with the Ducks last year.
So, they've lost Neidemayer, but they've added Schneider in his place.
Anaheim remains the best team in hockey, don't believe the hype.
The San Jose Sharks look to be their toughest opponents in the conference.
I'm sure some of you are chuckling at me listing the LA.Kings.
The truth of the matter is that this team is elite, and for years to come they will be contenders for the stanley cup.

Anaheim Ducks = 4.50
San Jose Sharks = 8.00
Los Angelos Kings = 51.00

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Stanley Cup Winner

I expect the Anaheim Ducks to win the cup again this year as they are superior to the Penguins who look most likely to be facing them in the final.

Anaheim Ducks = 8.00
Pittsburgh Penguins = 13.00
San Jose Sharks = 13.00
Atlanta Thrashers = 51.00
Washington Capitols = 67.00
Los Angelos Kings = 101.00
