And I do apologize. I was wrong. I meant what my point stated, but I didn't have to be a prick about it.

I assume you're mimicking post 57, because if not, you'll have to up your pickiness an order of magnitude in order to offend me. :p:

It irked me because I repented my response after reflection. Not because you had some typically contrived opinion on the matter. Go drop something heavy on your toe.

Ok, lumberjim, I think I finally understand your "irk".

It's your fear that some might think that your apology in post #57 was because it followed my post #56 where I observed that you misrepresented Pico and ME's post #49 in your post #50. Got it. You're sooooo oversensitive! What a ridiculous notion! You're wrong, no one thinks your apology was because I shamed you into doing so. JFC.

I'll tell you what. I'll put up a public poll. We'll let it run for a week. Everybody can vote, and for every person who thinks that you apologized because I prompted you, I'll donate $5 to the tip jar. For every person who thinks you just apologized on your own, uninfluenced by me, you hit the tip jar for $5. Are you in? I think your vote and my vote are pretty sure things, so Undertoad's gonna get $10 right away.

lumberjim 01-30-2015 01:20 PM

I don't care if you believe it. truly. I know no one thinks I apologized because of you ...because I told them that, and I have credibility. I've recently tipped the jar. go wave your junk at someone else.

BigV 01-30-2015 01:36 PM

but YOU believed they believed it. you said so yourself. I'm flattered you have such a high opinion of me. that's fine, but you probably overestimate the ill will I hold toward you.

lumberjim 01-30-2015 01:53 PM

did I say so myself? could you quote it? I think I meant I didn't want them to think that. not that I thought they did. now who is putting words into people's mouths?

I don't think you hold ill will toward me. I think you think you're morally superior, like you do of everyone. You're insincere, judgmental and creepy. just stop.

A distinction with very little difference. "I did X because I don't want people to think Y" certainly implies that you think they may think Y.

You seem to have a chip on your shoulder against BigV, and are projecting it onto what he said.

lumberjim 01-30-2015 02:41 PM

if I had not said anything to the contrary, I could see how people might think Y. because I said something to the contrary, I do not think that they think Y.... which is what V said that I said. I did go back and re read my posts. I never said that or even that I didn't want them to. Might, not May.

a small but important distinction.

and yes. I do have an issue with BigV. I don't think that's difficult to see. He feels (or at least he seems to feel) like he needs to get involved in every altercation I get myself into.... as though he is supervising me. I've told him to mind his own business countless times, and I have no patience left for him.

anything else?

Happy Monkey 01-30-2015 03:29 PM

There's no crying in baseball and there's no "mind your own business" on an open forum; these aren't PMs.

That's funny. It sure seems like PMS. :-)
