Re the injury, all I can say is 'ouch, double ouch and ouch again'. It makes me wince just to think of it. Mega sympathies from Wendover. |
Could you stop being sick and injured, Sundae? Jesus Fucking Christ! ;)
Well, I think the Russian rebels were trying to stop me from accessing this here site for the past hour...just now came up. |

I won't go into details in case there is ever a search which can identify me; suffice to say I was doing something essential which I do every Monday morning. And it's not knife juggling - I do that on a Friday. ETA I think I took your post FAR more seriously than you mean it. I am obviously a Jonah and you're actually all at risk just connecting with me via the internet. Look what I did to El Syc! |
Yeah chill, just poking ya.;)

No. I have a serious injury which has prevented me from working and you are mocking it.
LOOK. Does that look like something Bones would deal with? No. He would zap me in the neck and it would all be healed. Flip me, even Madame Pomfrey could sort it out. Instead I am suffering. (I actually just missed your joke in trying to assure Bruce I was really not to blame. It was teh funny I promise) Oh the terrible gauze job is partly mine. Damn pad started peeling off in the heatwave within about 30 mins of getting home becase it's between my fingers. But it's needed to keep the glue in place and protect the wound from infection until the skin seals. |
Ouch! Sundae, I'm sorry. That looks really painful.

I know it spoils the fun a bit, but do check the white text.
Otherwise I look like really, really nasty. Instead of just having a nasty hand. Actually Glatt it's just a dull ache now it's stopped leaking all over the place. Burns are worse, and you don't get the same sympathy either, generally being considered complicit in having acqired them - at least ones which don't require a hospital stay. |
The best thing to do with a burned appendage is keep it submerged in cold water for at least four hours. Change the water to keep it cool, and keep the appendage submerged. I made the mistake of trying to move a fresh-out-of-the-oven tray of roasted bacon with my bare hand once, that's how I know. After 4-6 hours of submergance in cold water my hand felt a load better. No blister. No scar. Nothink.
