Please lie to me and tell me the Patriots have a chance Sunday lol

I suppose they do.
A 49ers - Ravens Superbowl looks as if the betting would be balanced.
A convincing Patriots win would see a lot of money on them in the final game.
If they do end up in the final game, bet against them there.
Winning it all? Without a D?
I don't know about that, we've never really seen a team win a Superbowl without a defense, so it would be a first.
The Ravens and the 49ers are the strong defensive teams that remain, and should be considered top contenders for the big prize.

ew..... could someone rent these two a room at a rate they could afford between them? SamIam?

:p:

Griff 01-20-2012 09:18 PM

I'm thinking they only need a single...

monster 01-20-2012 09:48 PM

If you're paying only $1 for the room, you need to hand over some turquoise jewelry too.

Yes, I am quite funny.

What is a Top 40 listening sheep? Do you speak English or did you use a google translator for that, eh?

Here are some English pointers for you:

You're not your
space after a comma
comma before eh, period/full stop (or question mark) after
colons either side of lol for shits and grins.

Here's the corrected version for you to compare and contrast:

 wow, you're a regular comedian, I see, eh? not bad for a top 40 listening sheep.

"Top 40 listening sheep?" you really must update your insults since 8th grade.

W.HI.P 01-22-2012 11:46 AM

I agree with UT.
Last time I insulted monster, I told her to go fuck her mother.

J.D.DIAMOND 01-22-2012 05:16 PM

W.HI.P!!! My PATRIOTS are going to the SUPER BOWL!!!!!
They ain't gonna win but Brady ties Joe Montana for most playoff wins, ties John Elway for Super Bowl appearances(5) and Bilichick is the first head coach to coach in 5 Super bowls! HELL YEAH!!!

infinite monkey 01-22-2012 05:32 PM

Anyone who ties Joe Montana is OK in my book!

Go Patriots!

How come the coach of the Ravens didn't get a Benny Boo Boo hat? His face was all funny.

You could actually win it, although under the spread.
Still 100% in the play-offs!
If the 49ers hang on to this 4 point lead, I'll be betting on them to beat the spread in the Superbowl, for a perfect play-offs yet again!

Well,I lost 25 bucks on the Ravens, but I'm happy the Pats are headed to the super Bowl again, however I'll be betting against them for sure.

I don't think they can beat San Fran or New York, the defense on both are too good for Brady because New England's defense can't bail out Brady, the Pats are only there because of Baltimore's mistakes, especailly the last one lol.

J.D.DIAMOND 01-22-2012 08:46 PM

Opps,Bilichick is not the only coach to coach 5 Super Bowls,he Ties Tom Landry.

Yes I'm posting this in the Cowboys' thread and if ya don't like it too fucking bad, grab a tissue lol.

Like him or hate him (as most hate him haha!) and even though I think the fucking New York Giants will win today's Super Bowl(GOD DAMN I HOPE I'M WRONG,IF I AM I'LL CELEBRATE LOL!)

And regardless of Manning or Brady's performance,Tom Brady is still the best QB of this era regardless of "stats" and blah blah blah he is still the best of this era these last 10/11 years.

5 Super Bowl appearances (Tied with John Elway) 2 Super Bowl MVPs,3 Super Bowl rings it will be hard to top Brady.

Home with the girls. Eating wings, watching half-time, remembering what I hated about the Eighties...:)

infinite monkey 02-05-2012 07:19 PM

Really? Because I liked the halftime show for the first time in a long time. I didn't know what to expect from Madonna...but starting out with Vogue hooked me. Production value? Great, nicely done. Good dancing, nice choreography, no wardrobe malfunctions, and Madonna is in the best shape on earth to put on the shows she puts on, what with not being 20 anymore and all. :)

It seemed pre-recorded but I've never been good at figuring that out.

Griff 02-05-2012 07:46 PM

Can't take that chipmunk voice. Fortunately, music is wide open now so folks can avoid it, unlike back in the eighties.

Crap Pierre Paul went down. Looks okay though.

It just goes on and on... expect it!

jimhelm 02-11-2012 03:16 AM

It's a shame you can't place a bet that pays if the favorite does NOT win.

Or maybe you can if you take the short side of the odds.

I guess thats what bookies do, as I think of it.....duh.

Undertoad 02-11-2012 08:35 AM

Here is why this is not interesting: Vegas expects the "top three" not to win!

http://www.vegasinsider.com/nfl/odds/futures/

Top three: Packers 1 in 5, Saints 1/6, Patriots 1/7

Bottom 29: Steelers 1/12, Eagles 1/12... all the way down to Browns 1/100

Combining all these[1], Vegas sets the odds of the top three winning at about .50 and the odds of the bottom 29 at about 1.0

If you split $100 across the top 3 and another across the bottom 29... Vegas would expect a payout in the bottom 29.

Sparky... Vegas agrees with you!

[1]Combining odds in this way doesn't make too much sense because it is probability that you must actually combine. If probability was 1.0 it would be 100%, a certain outcome

lumberjim 11-10-2016 06:15 PM

Whaddya think about this week, Griff?

I'm a little worried that the Cowboys might get a bit cocky. If Dak gets flustered like with Philly, we can't count on Tomlin to hand us the game back like Doug did.

Gravdigr 11-14-2016 02:37 PM

My God, did you see that Pittsburgh-Dallas game yesterday?!?!

Some of the best football I've seen in years.

Wasn't real happy with the outcome, but, still...

Gravdigr 11-14-2016 02:38 PM

Eight in a row for Dallas.

Undertoad 11-14-2016 03:49 PM

Watched the last 5 minutes, what craziness! What a game!

And 0 for 4 going for two point conversion...!

lumberjim 11-14-2016 03:56 PM

I came away with a nervous tick

Clodfobble 11-14-2016 03:59 PM

Hope it doesn't give you Nervous Lyme Disease.

lumberjim 11-14-2016 07:38 PM

Derp!

This was like a concession speech.

I guess it really was, but there was no election. I thought for a moment that he was about to retire. Such a somber tone. Hopefully, this quiets the incessant reporting about the conundrum they have, and they can go on fully focused on each game. Good to know that we have the best backup in the league.

I hope he restructures his deal, plays 2 or 3 more seasons in this role, and transitions to coaching.

Class guy. Class move.

Fucking Go Cowboy. And Cowboys.

Undertoad 11-15-2016 06:16 PM

"I feel like we have two battles or two enemies going on: one with the man across from you and the second with the man inside of you. I think once you control the man inside of you, the one across from you doesn't really matter. I think that's what we're all trying to do."

That's some pretty good stuff.

lumberjim 11-15-2016 06:37 PM

I'm glad I didn't sell his jersey all those times

classicman 11-16-2016 10:40 AM

I was impressed with his speech also.

lumberjim 12-02-2016 08:06 PM

Eleven and one. And we get to confront that One next Sunday. That one point.

Grisly, frustrating game against a stingy Vikings defense last night. Felt like a stolen win. Not an enjoyable performance by the gilded rookie phenoms that have dominated the highlight reels this year, but a win nonetheless.

My opinion, this is just as good as a gut check loss. A wake up call. This hardens resolve. It props up faith. It lets the competition know that it will have to win all 3 phases of the game to beat them.

That's not an easy thing to do. It forces opponents to dilute their focus when game planning.

Ugly game to watch. Beautiful ugly win.

Gravdigr 12-07-2016 02:18 PM

I found it strange that none of those badass Cowboys teams from my youth had never won ten straight before.

lumberjim 12-07-2016 11:34 PM

Right?

This team looks so smooth. Like they just assume they're going to win each game. And then they do.

I rewatched the one loss last night, and they were the same way, except they didn't finish drives with 7s. A couple of plays that made the difference were missed because the sun was literally in their eyes. And one bad decision by KW who didn't get out of bounds cost them a shot to win with a long field goal.

I'm hyped for this game.

lumberjim 04-04-2017 12:47 PM

Romo is retiring. All signs point to him joining Jim Nantz on CBS. I'm pleased. Only thing that would have been better is if he had taken a big pay cut and played back up to Dak for 3 more years or so.

He probably would not have had the networks courting him at the end of that though.

Congrats, #9

glatt 04-04-2017 01:14 PM

I never heard him speak. Is he articulate and insightful? An Al Michaels or Chris Collinsworth kind of guy?

lumberjim 04-04-2017 01:41 PM

He has a kind of annoying tooth sucking thing he does, but that's coachable.
http://youtu.be/nw1GXGIFtVA

Griff 04-05-2017 06:55 AM

I think he made the right call. Hopefully good in the booth.

classicman 04-05-2017 06:14 PM

Is he articulate and insightful ...or... a Chris Collinsworth kind of guy?

Cannot stand him ... jus' sayin'

Undertoad 04-05-2017 07:00 PM

How many Cowboys are in the booth now? Dang ya got Aikman, Daryl Johnston, even frickin Jimmy Johnson and his hair!

lumberjim 04-07-2017 04:08 PM

And you've got Murrill Reese.

When I go to Texas next month one of the optional group events is a 90 minute tour of The Star training facility. I passed on that because I don't want to spend the money for an Eagles shirt I'll never wear again. ;)

I heard the common taters before the game refer to Prescott's weight, 240 is pretty dang thick for a qb. Didn't realize he was that big a guy.
