Great Pic. We should start a thread of pics of our parents. I have recently come across some great pics of my Dad when he was in the Navy and a few of him as a High School Priniple and Super.

I may have posted this, not sure. Here is dad somewhere in the south pacific during WWII. Looks like barracks behind them so maybe it was stateside?

He's in the back, middle with the goofy hat. He knew goofy hats were an instant laugh. I would not be surprised if he invented the "lampshade on your head gambit." The guy to his right (no head cover) was the guy who went back to the beach under fire to drag my dad into an evac boat after he'd been left for dead. He was just unconscious.

What a great picture!

footfootfoot 12-09-2010 09:00 PM

Yes, but I actually didn't take it.

Shawnee123 12-09-2010 09:01 PM

Oh, I knew that. Duh.

What few pictures I've seen of you over the years, you look like your dad.

footfootfoot 12-09-2010 09:08 PM

Yeah, more so as I've gotten older. I should dig up a picture of my mom, my younger sister and *cough* myself. We look like three people who look really a lot like one another.

I'd say that I have seen that picture somewhere before.

Edit: and thank you for post 1131.

This Vixen used to visit every evening and we'd put scraps out for her. Unfortunately, she never brought her cubs along.
I think that the poor soul perished on the road as many do.

Our first snowflake fell today. Also, our 100,456,354,297,335,546,256th snowflake fell today. And all those in between. Two inches now, and still falling. Wind has positively howled all day. Visibilty less than five hundred feet at times...Our fair city is paralyzed.:lol2:

This was about 4pm.

It certainly was.

I'd sit on the steps down to the back garden and gently lob any scraps of meat we had left over. At times I'd use dog food and on one occasion the Fox attempted to take it straight from the spoon. Unfortunately she grabbed the spoon as well, dropped it and, as a consequence, ran off in fright. She was soon back.

I've got farming friends who would have been mortified had they known I was feeding a Fox!
I can trust you Dwellars to keep a secret now, can't I? CAN'T I? :blah:
