So...which of the Williams sisters do you think will take it, Whip?

W.HI.P 07-03-2009 11:15 AM

venus is playing at a whole different level.
i must be honest, i'm not really gonna watch.
although, its almost pre-determined, i will watch the greatest tennis player of all time win another grand-slam.
i was a fan of pete sampras, so it kinda hurts watching someone surpass him.
federer is one to watch in awe

ny yankees vs toronto blue jays
halladay - wang

wang may look really really bad out there, but halladay has given the jays four defeats in his last 6 starts.
all 4 losses paid a fortune as does this one.
it has been very wise to bet against halladay.
the blue jays are arguably the worst team in baseball.
the yankees are arguably the best team in baseball.

bet on the ny yankees

kansas city royals vs chicago white sox
hochevar - floyd

i've been talking about hochevar for quite some time.
he's coming off a two hitter, 7 inning shut-out against the twins.
he's one of the best young guys out there.
the white sox have some serious holes.

bet on the kansas city royals

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

san fransisco giants vs houston astros

lincecum - ortiz

what can anyone say about lincecum.
3 of his last 4 games have been complete games.
2 of them were complete game shut-outs, the latest, against the cardinals, he allowed 0 walks and 2 hits.
the 3rd, he allowed 1 run.
one could argue wtih conviction, that lincecum is the best starter in the major leagues.

bet on the san fransisco giants

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

W.HI.P 07-05-2009 01:19 AM

a perfect day, as all 3 bets won.
the jays are now 2-5 over halladay's last 7 starts.
hochevar got his 3rd win in a row for the royals.
lincecum pitched another shut-out, allowing only 3 hits, while striking out 9.

ny yankees vs toronto blue jays
chamberlain - cecil

there's no light in sight for the blue jays

bet on the ny yankees

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

cincinnati reds vs st.louis cardinals
arroyo - carpenter

as much as i'd like the reds to win this division, they won't be beating carpenter.

bet on the st.louis cardinals

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

philadelphia phillies vs ny mets
blanton - santana

the mets are gonna need to beat phillie while santana is pitching, otherwise they'll fall back in the race.

bet on the ny mets

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

colorado rockies vs arizona diamondbacks
jimenez - haren

i expect ubaldo jimenez to shut-down this weak arizona line-up.
he should last 8 innings.
huston street will take care of the 9th, as he has without flaw for quite some time.

bet on the colorado rockies

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

la angels vs baltimore orioles
saunders vs hill

the angels bats are on fire, scoring 49 runs over their past 8 games.
saunders won't need to much help to win this one.

bet on the la angels

W.HI.P 07-06-2009 12:38 PM

the jays lost again... and to think that they have 6 games against the rays, 3 games against boston this month, they'll just be falling and falling and falling..... i wonder how all those canadian media people feel now after they projected a world series for this very weak team.
carpenter went back to pitching gems as the cardinals beat the reds.
santana pitched very well, but the line-up is missing reyes, beltran and delgado as the mets fall back in the race.
haren did a better job than jimenez.
the angels outscored the orioles.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

la angels vs texas rangers
weaver - millwood

the angels have now scored 58 runs in their last 9 games.
despite a few hiccups, weaver remains the angels best starter.

bet on the la angels

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

W.HI.P 07-07-2009 03:50 AM

the angels continue to score in bundles, as weaver gets the 9-4 win.

tampa bay rays vs toronto blue jays
Rzepczynski - shields

this series against the rays will be their 4th lost series in a row.
the rays are at a whole different level.
i believe that the rays will finish in 2nd place in this division ahead of the red sox.
it should be enough for a wild card spot.

bet on the tampa bay rays

W.HI.P 07-07-2009 07:12 PM

there's some great value out there this early... its time to jump on some of these prices....

nfl

superbowl xliv / conference champion

san diego chargers 15.00 / 7.50
chicago bears 21.00 / 11.00
atlanta falcons 26.00 / 13.00
washington redskins 34.00 / 15.00
jacksonville jaguars 34.00 / 17.00
miami dolphins 51.00 / 26.00

W.HI.P 07-08-2009 02:35 PM

the jays lost, making them 2-8 over their last 10.
i can't see how the jays can avoid last place in the division this season.
the only possibility that the jays have of avoiding last place, is if the orioles go on a run for a higher draft pick.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

tampa bay rays vs toronto blue jays
kazmir - tallet

you can actually get 1.65 for this tampa bay rays win.
could the pitching be more imbalanced.

bet on the tampa bay rays

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

W.HI.P 07-08-2009 10:54 PM

the rays beat the jays again, as reality sets in even more for toronto blue jay fans.

tampa bay rays vs toronto blue jays
price - halladay

halladay's last 3 starts were losses for the blue jays.
the jays are 2-5 in halladay's last 7 starts.
on the betting side, going against halladay with all these huge prices has paid off pretty nicely.
both teams are turf playing teams.
only the rays are by far, the best turf team in the major leagues.
the rays are also the fastest team in the major leagues.
in fact, the tampa bay rays are the fastest team of all time.
crawford is like a cheetah.
upton just stole home today.
he's so fast, that the comentators, prior to upton stealing home, were contemplating wether he'd do it or not.
he did it, easily.
batting .357, bartlett is also pretty fast.
overall, the rays lead the major league with 125 stolen bases.
in 2nd place, the very fast angels team with 83.
the rays are on pace to demolish the all time stolen bases record for a team.
and to think, these guys are still young, and most of them are not yet at their prime.
the rays are gonna get better as the years pass.

bet on the tampa bay rays

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

san fransisco giants vs san diego padres
lincecum - geer

playing for the giants this season, lincecum is 9-2, 2.23 era, 1.05 whip, 141 strike-outs in 121 innings.
3 of his last 5 starts have been shut-outs, 2 of them, complete game shut-outs.
we are all just sitting back and watching in awe.

bet on the san fransisco giants

where do you want them to go?
i can understand how upset dallas cowboys fans are after they realized that their team sucks, but lj, you want your team to move?
sure they're gonna have another bad year, but at least you've got a new stadium to be disapointed in.
i say, let them stay in dallas.... its not like the mavs or stars are doing any better.

W.HI.P 07-09-2009 02:33 PM

the rays, as expected, swept the inferior blue jays.
it was the blue jays 4th loss in a row with halladay starting.
2-6 over his last 8......all 6 losses paid a lot of money, and we've been all over them.

lincecum's game is still later on tonight, however, i have not touched it, based on the low 1.15 price.

for tommorow friday...........

chicago cubs vs st.louis cardinals
harden - carpenter

having to face harden, carpenter's win has a pretty good price on it.
although carpenter has a much tougher line-up to face, he still holds the advantage due to the fact that he's the absolute elite.

bet on the st.louis cardinals

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

W.HI.P 07-10-2009 07:38 PM

lincecum got the easy win last night.
carpenter got the easy win today.
we've won our last 6.
we're 12-2 on this page.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

la angels vs ny yankees
weaver - pettitte

these two teams are of fire, scoring runs in bundles.
the difference here is that weaver is pitching at a whole different level.

bet on the la angels

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

W.HI.P 07-11-2009 07:39 PM

we're up to 7 straight wins now.
13-2 on this page as the angels outscore the yankees 14-8.
jered weaver giving up 3 of the earned runs..
the angels are without hunter and guerrero who are both on the dl.

baltimore orioles vs toronto blue jays
bergesen - rzepczynski

when the blue jays were in first place in all the major leagues earlier this season, and the canadian media was going on and on about the blue jays pennant race and the world series, i began to make extreme posts regarding the reality behind this very very weak team.
posts like this....

the blue jays will finish the 2009 season with the worst record since 2004, where they finished with 67 wins and 94 lost.

based on the above, it would be wise to bet against the jays for the rest of the season, regardless of who's starting.
especially those of you who reside in toronto who happen to always have a better price on the toronto loss than any other place in the world.
torontonians, you are blessed with terrible teams, take advantage of it.

bet on the baltimore orioles

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

W.HI.P 07-12-2009 09:25 PM

our winning streak continues as the the orioles beat the blue jays again.
so far, this year has been so amazing.
if you had told me that we'd have these kind of stats at mid-season, i wouldn't have believed you, but here we are.
lets hope that the 2nd half of the season is as good as the first.
as far as the all-star game is concerned, i could really go either way.
the national league looks like they have a better chance of winning it than recent years.
for tommorow's home run derby, i'll be looking at fielder and howard.
mauer would be the huge underdog dark horse.
