minnesota vikings[-3.0] vs baltimore ravens

the minnesota vikings are really not as good as some percieve.
the vikings attack faces its biggest challenge yet.
on the other side of the ball, the ravens should be able to score against minnesota.
the ravens should win this game.

bet on the baltimore ravens

new orlean saints[-3.0] vs new york giants

no suprise in the saints success this season... their attack is of the absolute elite, and their defence has picked up a bit from its under par season last year.
but don't even begin to compare the saints to the giants, they are leagues apart.
eli manning is truly out of this world.
the giants running game is unbelievable, while the defence remains well above par.
the new york giants are truly the elite in the nfl.
its kinda funny that the saints are favorite here.
the only way one could consider the saints favorites here is if the giants decide to throw the game to rest.

bet on the new york giants

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

tampa bay bucs vs carolina panthers[-3.5]

i was watching the nfl network, and i couldn't believe that they named the bucs the absolute worst team in the nfl.
what tf have they been watching.
the bucs are actually a pretty good team, and under no circumstance can they compare with the lesser teams in the nfl.
this is a pretty good match-up here, but you'd have to like the bucs to win here at home against a seriously under par panthers team.

bet on the tampa bay bucs

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

washington redskins[-6.5] vs kansas city chiefs

the chiefs should've beat the under par cowboys last week.
the redskins are a much better team than the cowboys and should have no problem beating the chiefs, who's future see's them at the pit of this game for several years.

bet on the washington redskins

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

new england patriots[-9.5] vs tennessee titans

a part of me wants the titans to lose this game, but they face a weak patriots team that should not be able to stop their attack.
tennessee should be able to win their first game of the season against this well under par patriots team.
9.5 points is crazy here.

bet on the tennessee titans

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

san diego chargers[-3.5] vs denver broncos

this is actually a very lop-sided game.
the broncos, apart from beating a good bengals team 12-7 in week 1, have not faced a good team this season [browns, raiders, cowboys, patriots].
the chargers are by far, a superior team, who will run all over this broncos team.
how perceptions change as the weeks go by.
this is easily the base of this week.

bet on the san diego chargers

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

i'm gonna add a 7th game to this weeks picks......

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

atlanta falcons[-3.5] vs chicago bears

both teams are elite, but looking closer at the one on one match-ups, i'll have to give the edge to the falcons as their attack really can't be stopped by any team.
this might be the first team to win the superbowl with an under par defence in ages.

bet on the atlanta falcons

59 to nothing. the weak patriots must have eaten some spinach or someshit.

W.HI.P 10-19-2009 03:17 AM

reminds me of two seasons ago around this time where the patriots won by 50 something points...of course they went on for the rest of the season losing 11 games in a row against the spread ending in that loss against the new york giants.
its all about perception lj, but don't get the wrong idea about your cowboys... people's perception is that the cowboys suck...in this particular case, the cowboys actually do suck...but you always have the option of changing teams.

W.HI.P 10-22-2009 04:54 PM

if the result of last week in people's perception is that the saints are gonna play the patriots in the superbowl, then we found greater success than the week before.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

houston texans[-3.0] vs san fransisco 49ers

this is a good match-up.
the difference in this one i think, is the 49ers defence, which is, without doubt, much greater than that of the texans.

bet on the san fransisco 49ers

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

tampa bay bucs vs new england patriots[-14.5]

the patriots loss in the superbowl 2 years ago was the most highly wagered lop-sided bet ever made in any sport.
leading up to that superbowl, anyone who had wagered on the patriots in any of their last 11 games, lost their money.
it does not alter perception, and as long as the masses, wager together, they're gonna be losing their money.
you can use those little words like conspiracy and coicidence all you want, it won't change the fact that the masses will continue to lose their money... and i will be here to collect it.

bet on the tampa bay bucs

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

dallas cowboys[-3.5] vs atlanta falcons

the falcons have a better attack than the cowboys, there is no doubt about that.
no teams defence is as bad as the cowboys, so the falcons have the upper hand there as well.
the only thing the cowboys really have in their favour in this game is their stadium.
this is lop-sided, and we get 3.5 points.

bet on the atlanta facons

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
miami dolphins vs new orlean saints[-7.0]

yes, the saints attack is elite, its been that way for some time, no suprises.
if you've been watching, the dolphins attack has yet to be stopped.
there getting 5-6 yeards on average with that wild cat formation.
i doubt the saints defence is gonna be the first to stop them.
and if they can't, then drew won't be on the field that much now will he.
the dolphins can win this game, 7 points is huge.

bet on the miami dolphins

WE'RE SURE TO WIN NOW. THANKS MU.SH (2-5 LAST WEEK.....YOU FORGOT TO MENTION THAT)

W.HI.P 10-22-2009 08:02 PM

i can see why you'd be upset for having such a shitty team lj, but don't take it out on me.... its not my fault that your defence sucks.
i'm just the messenger.....i'm the guy that informs you what shape your team is in..... if you had listened to me, instead of getting all upset about it, you'd have changed teams a long time ago.

your acting as if i play some kind of part in how shitty your team preforms..... take a reality check there lj mmkay

lumberjim 10-22-2009 08:10 PM

WHERE WAS THIS ACTING NOW?

W.HI.P 10-22-2009 08:15 PM

in this thread here.
my record on calling cowboys games is actually pretty good.
2 years ago when they had a good team, i'd call more wins than losses for them and they'd get them....last year when they started to suck i started calling it against them and you started getting all pissed off, accusing me of calling games against your shitty team.
this season, your team is about as weak as its ever been, so yeah, if you really really want me to just avoid giving your teams losses than just say so, but don't start blaming me for your teams weakness.

lumberjim 10-22-2009 10:12 PM

Jimmy,

with all sincerity.....

my whole point in heckling you in this thread is that you have no clue about picking games. The entire concept that ANYONE has a clue is a big joke. The idea that you thinking that you're better at picking games than me or tony or anyone else is a big joke, and we are all laughing at you.

that's why people enjoy seeing you fail. because you put up this front like you have a clue....and crow like a motherfucker when you actually get one right...but NEVER cop to it when you blow it like you did last week.

you're a tool.....but your our tool...so keep it up!

W.HI.P 10-22-2009 10:54 PM

lj, this thread is about making money.
its a about making profit through betting.
this thread has made profit for those who have used it for its purpose.
you obviously haven't read it since you didn't even know i wa an eagle fan.
as far as tools are concerned, the cellar would be considered my tool, not vice-versa

My pet theory is that the oddsmakers are taking your pet theory into account now.

I just looked at last year's standings against the spread. Teams with poor records do poorly against the spread and teams with good records do well against the spread. Eight teams had 5 wins or fewer, and none of them had a winning record against the spread. Eleven teams had 11 wins or more (including playoffs) and only 2 of them had losing records against the spread.

This seems to be counter-intuitive as under the W.HI.P theory, people should be betting with winning teams and betting against losing teams.

Undertoad 10-23-2009 06:13 AM

I looked at the year before and the same principle applied then too. I'm not sure why, but I am now issuing

BETTING TIPS

Indianapolis -14 @ St. Louis
New England -15.5 @ Tampa Bay
San Diego -5 @ Kansas City
New Orleans -7 @ Miami

Making money for whom? :eyebrow:

Certainly not for the person who places bets based on your predictions! ;)

W.HI.P 10-23-2009 08:40 AM

you wanna try going back in this thread and see how much profit or loss you would have if you wagered on every recomendation in here.
if you're gonna make a statement like that, you'd best have your facts straight first.

Shawnee123 10-23-2009 08:44 AM

(insert 'oooooooooooooooooooooohhhh scawy' here)

Whuddever Whup. I don't care that much. How about your facts? Can you give me a figure? I could make something up and are you going to go back 90 pages and fact-check me?

If you're gonna make a statement like that, you'd best have your facts straight before you challenge someone.

OK, my answer is minus one hundred bucks and 75 cents.
