I'm new here! So hello! (I need a map and a guide)

:3eye: Cicero here,
I'm new around these parts. I'm in my 30's and am glad to find a group that seems to be of a more mature nature. So feel free to introduce yourself and I promise to be good (for now)!

Hi and thank you Yesman! Sure, I can mosey. But I'm better at sticking my nose in where it doesn't belong! And listen- I'll invite you to say and be significant. Yesmen have been scant in my life lately!

lhatcher 10-19-2006 01:59 PM

I'm new here too, but I'll say 'hey' and welcome. I'm being nosey and gradually posting here and there, getting to know who the important people are around here

None are important. Everyone is important. Some are louder than others but no one is more important than anyone else.

Hello Cicero, Welcome to the Cellar. :D

Elspode 10-19-2006 03:35 PM

Important People on The Cellar

Undertoad (Owner and Proprietor)
Wolf (Mod and Venerable Armed Dwellar Exaltus)
xoxoxoBruce (Moderator and Probably the Nicest Guy Here)

The rest of us are scum. Don't even bother trying to schmooze us. We're schmoozeproof. :3eye:

Clodfobble 10-19-2006 03:36 PM

Oh hey lhatcher, I just noticed your location. (Am I the only one who pays attention to those? I like to have a spatial reference for where posts are coming from...) Why are you moving to Houston?

Slightly.

2. Have you ever been in prison?
Not yet. But I am looking for a place to get a free education and a vacation at the same time. Hopefully I'll go for something more interesting than a grotesque amount of parking infractions.

3. Are you older than any of your aunts or uncles?
Not that I know of.

4. Righty or lefty?
Yes.

5. Do you put ketchup or mustard on a hot dog?
I don't eat hot dogs anymore.

6. Who is the best rock band of all time?
There isn't one. There are many!!! Unfair- too unfair.

7. Are you older or younger than 30?
Another Yes. How did you guess?

8. If a train traveling 45 mph headed west, and 15 minutes later, a train traveling 49 mph follows it, how long until the second train catches the first?

9. Do you consider fish to be meat?
Yes, the only one I like raw. If a man really loves you he takes you out for sushi and hibachi.

10. Do you believe we actually landed on the moon?
Yes

4, 6, 7, 8. do you see the pattern? non answers are the only really wrong ones. it is possible to score more than one point on a question if you really nail it, too. don;t worry, i have no hand. just scads of respect (read fear of ridicule) from the collective. at any rate, i've been trying to axe one particular member for about 2 years, and the best i could manage was about a 3 month break. oh well. one day i will be king.

Hmmm..... I think they've been scoring my employment applications like that-too lazy to read a resume or call various references.;)
Thanks for helping with the job hunt!

Why would you actually try to axe another member anyway?:eyebrow:

lumberjim 10-19-2006 05:30 PM

i'll not color your perceptions by telling you why....or who. I probably shouldn't have brought it up at all. nevermind.

Hey, Cicero. I'm new here too, but too shy to start my own thread. A good thing, too - I'd definitely fail LJ's quiz. Non-answers are my specialty! :p

rkzenrage 10-20-2006 02:14 PM

Hey man... I'm Rob. Always listen to what I say, I'm always right.

First, never pass-out around Flint, he'll do ya'.

yesman065 10-20-2006 03:24 PM

LOL - My boss just came into my office to see why I was laughing so loudly. You all now have detention for getting me into trouble!!
The important people here are the ones who tell/type you what you need to know not what you want to hear. They are a great group of peeps many of whom I would love to party with - if I still partied that is. Then again they may be worth fallin off the wagon to get wasted with. Maybe I'll see how this drunken post night thing goes and decide later. Oh my, I'm rambling. You passed the test in my book - in fact I gave you extra credit for the "Yes" answers. You being new and not knowing and all. anyway have a great weekend all. :D

yesman065 10-20-2006 03:33 PM

Thats not the type of "partying" I was referring to, but thats me after only 3 glasses of wine. I'm an ultra-lightweight since I got clean some years back.

Flint 10-20-2006 03:34 PM

I will never, ever, discuss certain parts of my past across this intranet.
I was a working musician for years. I didn't do much of anything SFW...

rkzenrage 10-20-2006 03:48 PM

What is SFW?

rkzenrage 10-20-2006 03:49 PM

Oh... I was a professional actor, and one in college, na!

Cicero 10-21-2006 10:01 AM

Thanks rk and yesman- I feel that I should confess......nevermind, I'm just going to update my profile.

Well hello! And Thank You.
And for my next thread I think I'm going to do a "do you think you are an important member on the cellar?" poll. :D Maybe a 1-10 scale, I don't know....I'll mull it over for awhile.

how is that scary to you? it is from a dmb song. to me, it says, 'if our bodies were not mortal, and we were not limited by them to 70-80 years, do you think we'd stay together for a thousand?'

Are you posting with your hair in rollers, wearing a housecoat, yet?

lhatcher 10-26-2006 08:02 AM

I've joined groups like this before, years ago, and there always seems to be a group that talks to each other. I guess what I meant by 'know who is important around here' I mean who is in that group. I tend to want to post comments to those people more than others as a way to join the group. It doesn't much matter if you're on a playground, at a party, or posting online.. we all want to be acknowledged and welcomed, not ignored.

DucksNuts 10-26-2006 08:14 AM

Ohh, if you want instant acknowledgement....head >>HERE<< and show some skin.

I know what you are saying, lhatcher. Sometimes I think I am on everyone's ignore list, but it just seems that way (I think!)

Of course, posting boob pics gets you lots of attention but that's not my style. It would take a lot more than a few prods from cellar mates to see these babies! You pay for quality, you know.

Welcome to the cellar!

Flint 10-26-2006 09:28 AM

@lhatcher: I have found that one thing creates "popularity" on a message board, and that is familiarity. Boardies are like cats, in this sense.
