uh yeah.. cmep?

Okay.. the past year or so has been a bit of a tempest (if only it were in a teapot..) but I was wanting to post this to ask simply "uh, did the cmep_2 project die?.. or is in a coma at best?".. new computer, new hardirve, new life and all that.. kinda lost touch.. ya know? is it still going? I have a barrell-full-o' new music and all... anyone? anyone? Beuller (sp?)?

zippyt 12-02-2006 02:26 AM

I say lets get cmep3 rockin !!!!!

rkzenrage 12-02-2006 02:35 AM

I thought he and R2 got married?

zippyt 12-02-2006 03:00 AM

cowhead 12-02-2006 11:19 AM

just wondering if all the stuff is still set up at g-mail and all.. I'm game, although my time is a little short these days. and let me tell ya the dsl really helps :))

wolf 12-02-2006 01:21 PM

I"m pretty sure it's still there ... was last time I peeked.

If we do a new CMEP... maybe if everyone uploads when they're ready? Folks seem to loose enthusiasm at about round 7 or 8, sort of new musical burnout.

Beestie 12-02-2006 01:36 PM

Deal me in.

wolf 12-02-2006 01:38 PM

I'd still like to know who has my original CMEP1 disk, and if anything got written on the comment pages that I never got back ...

LJ should scan and post his notebook.

lumberjim 12-02-2006 01:43 PM

yeah, i wonder where the hell that thing is. probably burried somewhere near the computer cabinet thingy.

zippyt 12-02-2006 02:38 PM

Yeppers the google thingee is still there , I uploaded a couple of songs lats nite and they WORK !!!

rkzenrage 12-02-2006 03:17 PM

I have over 2.5 gigs of music ripped, good quality, and every time I try to share it everyone here bitches because they don't like the fact that I use free services... %$#@* ya'.

zippyt 12-02-2006 03:20 PM

well gmail is free

rkzenrage 12-02-2006 03:21 PM

So was megaupload and the other service I used after I got whined at for megaupload.

zippyt 12-02-2006 03:28 PM

I didn't whine , who is the whiner ????

Undertoad 12-02-2006 03:36 PM

That was me, and I believe I said that it was utterly lame and impossible and took forever to get through the 87 different pop-ups and pages of ads to find the hidden download button.

wolf 12-02-2006 03:45 PM

The point of CMEP is not for each of us to share 2.5 GIG of anything. It's more like when you made a tape of assorted stuff you thought was cool in high school and gave it to your friends. We're talking less than 80 minutes of material per person.

rkzenrage 12-02-2006 03:50 PM

I was not talking about doing all of it... duh!

zippyt 12-02-2006 03:56 PM

I sort of remember that , it sucked !!!!!!

Rkz , gmail will set you free !!!!!

rkzenrage 12-02-2006 04:09 PM

Google is the debil right?

*thinks you may be darksided!*

Shun him!!!
1Corinthians 5:11–13: But now I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat. What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside. Expel the wicked man from among you."

Matthew 18:15–17: If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that 'every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.' If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.

2Thessalonians 3:6: In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers, to keep away from every brother who is idle and does not live according to the teaching you received from us.

2Thessalonians 3:14–15: If anyone does not obey what we say in this letter, take note of that person and have nothing to do with him, that he may be ashamed. Do not regard him as an enemy, but warn him as a brother.

Romans 16:17: I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them.

2John 10–11, NASB: If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house, and do not give him a greeting; for the one who gives him a greeting participates in his evil deeds.

zippyt 12-02-2006 04:16 PM

rkzenrage 12-02-2006 04:22 PM

zippyt 12-02-2006 04:59 PM

Shit !!!! Now I have to get to gather a disk !!!

When are we talking about doing this , How ( Gmail again?? ) , who is going to set up the account , etc,,,,,,, ??????????

glatt 12-02-2006 07:53 PM

I was never in on the past ones, but I think I'd enjoy it this time.

I'm actually right this moment burning a stack of disks of our family's favorites to hand out as casual xmas gifts to friends. Only rule was that at least 3 out of the 4 member of our household had to approve each track and it had to be in the current rotation. It's a pretty good mix. I'd do something a bit different for you folks, (less kid's music) but it would be good. Including some stuff you haven't heard before.

I'd like to be in on it this time. Just tell me how.

Clodfobble 12-02-2006 08:32 PM

Can't we just keep the current gmail account? It's still perfectly good. And new folks can get a sample of what they missed the last time around.

Could one of the mods add the appropriate folks to the CMEP forum? Secondary question: I was never actually able to see a direct link to the CMEP forum, I always had to type in the forum number by hand in the web address. Is that the way it was for everyone else too?

zippyt 12-02-2006 08:42 PM

I think it HAS to be a closed forum to keep it legal ,

Clodfobble 12-02-2006 08:50 PM

Sure, I know that, but I thought maybe if you were logged in and "on the list" of people allowed to be in the forum, you could see it listed with the others on the main page or wherever. Maybe that's not an option in vBulletin, I dunno.

DucksNuts 12-02-2006 09:25 PM

plz explain for us who have no frikken clue what you are talking about?

I get the music swappie bizzo, but how, what, where and when?

All of said information is in the closed (private) forum, for previously mentioned legal reasons as well as to keep participation organized. Just say you want in, and in theory you'll be able to see the threads under "New Posts," once they get made that is.

footfootfoot 12-02-2006 10:09 PM

Clod, I was able to access the thread by bookmarking it. It never appeared otherwise, unless I did a search using the term 'cmep'.

wolf 12-03-2006 06:56 PM

I wanna do this again too, please.

BigV 12-04-2006 09:57 AM

In.

I vote to maintain the current gmail setup. I like the way things have been tagged there, Intermission, poster name, etc.

Clodfobble, I made a separate favorite/bookmark for the cmep thread. It was not easily browseable.

glatt 12-04-2006 11:54 AM

So how does it work? E-mail files to the Gmail account?

Dagney 12-04-2006 12:26 PM

Oh, I'll play this time through :)

Elspode 12-04-2006 01:02 PM

Am I understanding that this changed to a digital online format instead of mailing CD's? That would certainly make this more attractive to me.

xoxoxoBruce 12-04-2006 01:22 PM

The email belongs to Perth, doesn't it?:eyebrow:

cowhead 12-06-2006 02:05 PM

like I said just an idea, I think my poor little ol' brain remembers the pass word and such, or we can set up a new acct. anyway! so! how's about this.. from one week (or less) from today 12-6-06 we decide in/out and set it up and do it? I'll do what I can (although my time is very limited at the moment) set up a private forum for discussion etc. and cut the time limit to 3-5 days between uploads.. if you get in and get the goodies.. great.. if not.. oops.. anywhoo! if one of the kind and wonderful people who set this up before would get ahold of me, I'll do the leg-work. just a thought..

I only saw it once myself the other day, and don't anymore, even if I do a search for it, or look at my previous posts. I don't get this CMEP thing. Have there been no new posts to it?

Clodfobble 12-06-2006 03:43 PM

cowhead, a thread with information is already set up, in the same (closed) forum as the previous CMEP project.

glatt, no there have been no new posts to the CMEP 3 thread in the last day. It doesn't show up because it's a closed forum, the only way I know of to get to it is to bookmark it, or type in the forum number by hand in the web address. I'll PM you a direct link.

Torrere 12-06-2006 04:46 PM

I want in.

cowhead 12-16-2006 01:17 AM
