Thank you Rexmons.

Very, very beautiful and touching.

Pass the tissues.

SteveDallas 09-29-2007 09:50 PM

Ummm... maybe I missed the translation.. what was the commercial for? Some kind of insurance?

xoxoxoBruce 09-29-2007 11:13 PM

Yeah, a life insurance company.

rkzenrage 09-29-2007 11:30 PM

I did not find it sad at all.

DanaC 09-30-2007 07:44 AM

I found it horribly manipulative. Hate ads like that.

I must agree. Same goes for anti-war ads that use flag drapped coffins or tshirts with the names of someone elses loved one on them. I have no problem with frank discussions about the people who have been killed, but don't use someone elses images without explicit permission from the dead guy or his/her family.

DanaC 09-30-2007 04:40 PM

I think that depends on whether or not the dead soldier has been identified. So, using their names on t-shirts surely cannot be right unless permission has been given. Flag draped coffins though have a potential anonymity. If what's being shown is a coffin with a flag over it and there's no way anybody could tell whose coffin it is, then it becomes a purely representative picture.

What I really dislike is people using consumers' fears as a means of persuading them to part with their cash.

If youre persuded by advertising to part with you cash, you deserve to lose the lot of it.
The choice is ultimately YOURS, the advertising is only to get you thinking.

Come on, adverts are designed to get you thinking that you will gladly part with your cash, for what ever the reason. It's all about the money.

Pretty much what I said.....though the adverts themselves arent what ultimatley makes our decisions, its ourselves.
Well in my case personally, anyway.

toranokaze 10-06-2007 02:10 PM

We are not subjects nor citizens but consumers

rkzenrage 10-06-2007 05:23 PM

I thought the idea of advertising was to manupulate... silly me.
The choice is always yours.

How else does one show the point of life insurance?

Matti 06-11-2012 07:13 AM

They're making sad commercials just to stir people's heart and convince them to join in their company. There's another Thai commercial, it's about a voiceless father. You can check it on youtube.

Okay... five years later did anyone change their mind on the topic?

ZenGum 06-18-2012 08:45 AM
