June 28, 2008: Divers

I alway picture Olympic class swimmers, as slim, with big shoulders. Streamlined, for speed through the water, and big shoulders from miles, and more miles, of powerful strokes.

Evidently divers don't fit that mold, as these two competitors at the U.S Olympic diving trials in Indianapolis, look more like body builders.

Good luck, folks.

zippyt 06-28-2008 12:46 AM

they look SO Pained !!!!

SPUCK 06-28-2008 02:16 AM

They don't look so happy do they?

Last time I dove I landed with one shoulder on the side of the pool. I don't dive anymore. :headshake

Sheldonrs 06-28-2008 02:18 AM

Cool pics. Is it just me or does the woman look more muscular than the man?

Sundae 06-28-2008 04:25 AM

Don't let them fool you, they down took those pictures lying down.
I thought this might be a spotting of the elusive Seak!

I'm waiting for the reposts with LOLcat-type captions.

I think the curled toes indicate orgasmic.

(takes a moment to wipe drool off chin)

boy, that's an itsy-witsy bikini!

xoxoxoBruce 06-28-2008 01:15 PM

Here's Justin Wilcox in an itsy witsy, for drooly. ;)

birdclaw 06-28-2008 02:11 PM

Do you think the guys wear some sort of protective apparatus in case they hit the water wrong? I think that would hurt much more than a belly-flop.

Cloud 06-28-2008 03:25 PM

It makes sense that they would have different body compositions than swimmers. I think they use their muscles differently than the swimmers. They need muscle strength to launch themselves into the gravity well (;)) whereas swimmers don't fight gravity. And they need flexibility and strength to contort and throw themselves into the diving positions.

I'm gonna have to pay close attention to their expressions this time when I watch the Olympics. I wonder if they're screwed up (faces) in anticipation of hitting the water, or just intense concentration, or what.

Bruce has it. That's their cum-face.

[Disclaimer: these are serious athletes in the peak of physical fitnees and I do not intend to mock the faces they pull while in pursuit of heroic Olympian dreams. Even if it does look like they've just shot their load.]

Btw, is mini-Justin making a bid for freedom there?!

newtimer 06-28-2008 05:44 PM

Ah-ha!

Hmmm. Besides the expression, they both have one hand near an ear. And the other hand is cupped, as if it's suspicially hiding something small...like a Q-tip!!

Spot on, despite our joking around, I have to utmost respect for these athletes, and what they have put themselves through to get to this level. :us:

I wonder if the lady-diver is wearing weights on her wrists to let her increase her angular momentum.

xoxoxoBruce 06-30-2008 10:35 AM

Or they're the cuffs from her uniform at the Playboy club.

Cloud 06-30-2008 10:36 AM

I bet she would not appreciate being called a "lady diver."

xoxoxoBruce 06-30-2008 10:42 AM

I'll take that bet.

BigV 06-30-2008 11:00 AM

Sure. Whatever. Some people object when I address them as "Sir" or "Ma'am" out of respect, too. They're entitled.

Sundae 06-30-2008 11:02 AM

(I suspect it's the muff-diving overtones V)

Yes, it's "divress."

Cloud 06-30-2008 11:34 AM

Don't call me ma'am!

BigV 06-30-2008 11:38 AM

Yes, sir!

xoxoxoBruce 07-03-2008 01:24 AM

Swimmers, slim with huge shoulders.

http://cellar.org/2008/swimmers.jpg

Flint 07-03-2008 03:29 PM

Those are some insane lats. These swimmers are the people that have to use straps on back day, because the human hand can't hold the amount of weight their lats can pull.

Sorry. They probably have to use canvas straps on their hands to help hold the barbells/dumbells in place, on the day that they do their back workout.

Cloud 07-03-2008 04:17 PM

oh, okay. I was worried that I missed Back Day.

or straps.

that would be Bad.

;)

Flint 07-03-2008 04:19 PM

Oh. "Straps-on-back Day" lol you freak :stickpoke

Good photoshop, spudcon. All it needs to be perfect is a burning pillow.

spudcon 07-04-2008 10:59 AM

OK, so I did it with paint. Ain't got the big bucks for Adobe. But if I did, I aint got the big brains to figure it all out, either. It's much too huge and complicated.

HungLikeJesus 07-04-2008 11:11 AM

spudcon, I thought it was great. I wasn't ripping on you.

By the way, you can get GIMP for free. I think it's as good as PhotoShop. There is some learning involved.

xoxoxoBruce 07-04-2008 11:13 AM

Photoshop Elements is available free from a number of sources, and does all the things I need... and more.

spudcon 07-04-2008 03:34 PM

Thanx HLJ, I thought it was not as good as others I've seen here.

TheMercenary 07-05-2008 06:50 PM

Is Katie Hoff swimming under someone's huge open crotch?
http://cellar.org/showpost.php?p=466585&postcount=24
At first I thought someone was pulling off a photoshop trick. Or maybe my mind is just in the gutter.

xoxoxoBruce 07-05-2008 07:10 PM

I've met people that didn't know their ass from a hole in the ground, but not knowing a crotch from a ceiling, is a whole new level. :lolsign:

Yeah I saw that too, I thought it was supposed to be some kind of birth metaphor. Then I got a brain cramp trying to figure out what the deeper meanings of it all were and whether it had to do with pulling curtains of something or other and extinction and then I just stumbled on out of there.

monster 07-05-2008 08:46 PM

I was wondering how she got her swim cap caught in a giant clitoris, too.

I wonder why they always pick butterfly photos of swimmers? is it becasue it gives the muscliest bory position?

Butterfly meet was today. My kids did good. :D Might post a vid. They already have the shoulder thing going on too.

I'm waffling.

Not all speedos are bad.
