Razz's jewelery
I think I told you guys that I make jewelery for fun about my second or third post into joining the cellar, then promised pictures, and then promptly never posted any, but I had to pledge a new thread to jim so he'd stop blubbering all over chat, so here is my long-awaited jewelery thread. Please enjoy:
I have really big ankles for a girl, "sturdily built" as my grandmother likes to say (lol). But I also love anklets, just they never fit me. So I got some elastic cord and beads that I liked, and started making anklets of my own, and bracelets as well like these: http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l7...y/a2ea8e31.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l7...y/1cae5e38.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l7...y/b20f17a9.jpg Then after about a year I got some coated metal cord, and started making these, hopefully to sell next summer: Necklaces http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l7...y/e8a9e1a3.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l7...y/946d497d.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l7...y/36f18246.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l7...y/a3a7191c.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l7...y/7bba9ac9.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l7...y/80cfc175.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l7...y/b0c20ffb.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l7...y/b73b339a.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l7...y/8597a1a7.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l7...y/8ca0ae89.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l7...y/6bcf300e.jpg |
thats great razz! very nice - can l order one?
Very nice, but the ankle bracelets scratch my shoulders.;)
good stuff!
I will make you a nice pearl necklace.
Sorry flint, I already have one, just no pictures yet :D
My ex has that same keyboard.
Also, those coated wire ones seem to be gaining in popularity amongst the womenfolk I encounter on a daily basis (college girls). I don't think you'll have any problem selling them you've got some nice designs goin on there. |
"coated wires" lol
My keyboard came with the computer, lol (and I bet hers isn't covered in glitter and paint :D )
If I was selling jewelery I would upgrade to using real chain and possibly look into learning metal or glasswork, because I think it's amazing, but for now I'm sticking with what I've got. It's an expensive hobby. |
Made this set for Mother's Day last year, my mom picked out the focal beads, and I did the rest (it's dark/lime green, but the photo is washed out)

Those are really nice Razz. Have you thought about an online store at Ebay or somewhere like that?
You might be able to make a nice bit of pocket money out of it. |
Ohhhh...those necklaces and bracelets are nice!
Oh Razz! they're gorgeous. You'll make lots of money I think. I would buy from that lot.
Ali: I set up an etsy store (like ebay but only for home made things) but I chickened out of trying to sell any of it. I'm was supposed to send some pieces up to my aunt's shop on Martha's Vineyard for the summer to see if I could sell any up there, but again, I chickened out. I hope to NOT chicken out of selling next summer at the store, and then I'll think about an internet thing again if I do well over the summer...I'm not really sure how to do sizing properly if I do it on the net though, that's the thing.

Lovely. I particularly like the spiral bracelets
Those really are nice. I like the mother's day one a lot.
Neat, Razz! I really like that pink bracelet with the toggle clasp. I wouldn't worry that much about size. Just measure how many inches and post that in the description.
Now you need to post a picture of that car you made out of empty yogurt cups. ;) |

B.E.A.U.tiful, Razz. I like your eye. Eyes. Ow, I'm all eye-sensitive after that hooking out thread :( |
Very nice Razz! I also make jewelry. I've been doing it for years, but haven't for the past couple. I mostly use silk thread and knot it periodically so if it ever breaks, all the beads won't go flying everywhere. And yes, it IS a very expensive hobby! Especially if you buy quality beads. I used to go to gem shows and walk away with a little bag that cost hundreds of dollars.
Esty should be a really good place to sell, if you want to make money. Ebay, not so much for this type of thing. It depends on how much you want to charge. Ruby Lane is another good site for jewelry, but it will cost more than Esty. If there are any cool, upscale shops where you live you might be able to sell there. |
Very pretty work, Razz! And excellent photos... you should really consider putting some work up on Etsy or Artfire!
I am so glad you appreciate my photos! It took days of waiting for the sun to come out to get them...I really need a light box!:greenface
Beautiful work Razz. If you decide to sell online, let us know!
The lights at tabletopstudio.com are really nice... I've had mine for a couple of years now. I haven't even had to replace the light bulbs!
