"Richard Nixon's Festering Corpse" is a suitable place to dump most political opinions, i will vote for this change.

Speaking of festering corpses, I avoid that forum like it is one.

Now some of the people in it... that's a whole 'nuther kettle of fish.

I went on a field trip with my daughter today. We went to the home of George Mason. George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were frequent long-term guests there. It was really cool walking the same floors and walking into the same rooms as Washington and Jefferson.

What do you think they would think of some of the drivel that masquerades as political debate these days? Not much, I bet.

They would probably recognize it. Human nature was the same then as it is now.

You'd be amazed, in Jefferson's case. He was a political animal of the first water.

Washington, on the other hand, was just an animal...and the best pit fighter of his day, with the possible exception of Ben "Crusher" Franklin...and he'd kill a punk for talking politics while he was dropping the mac hammer on some honey showing a little ankle.

I was making a joke and it obviously wasn't what you lot thought.

I'll explain.

Among my circle of friends, if a chick is refered to as 'popular' it usually means she's easy. Of course, we know this is not the case with Dana - hence the quote marks - but I got a laugh out of it for myself. It's not said in a hurtful way and isn't meant to be insulting in any way. In fact, it just became a joke when we used to go to the pub and some bloke would buy one of us a drink. We'd usually turn around and say something like, "well aren't you popular" with an understood emphasis on the popular.

Anyway, it's always lovely to have to explain humour. Hope you've all gotten something out of it today.

Not at all.. I was referring to an Official Cellar Link(tm). If I didn't want anybody using it I'd get rid of it. (The load on my shared hosting plan is almost nonexistent.) My concerns are mainly in the area of not making UT look responsible for something he didn't do, in case there's a problem with it or a future vBulletin upgrade breaks it or something like that.

Well I'd like to say that I love to roll the dice occasionally with it. Its a great way to find threads I wouldn't normally. And hey - keeping me outta the politics forum can only be good :D

If they feel like doing it, it's trivial, and they can do a much better job since they would actually have access to the guts of vbulletin.

I usually think of the political forum as a good double for fish wrap. Really, put the fresh fish in it and throw it in the freezer.

Cats drag in great things sometimes, not all of them flapping one wing.

I specifically am lazy, and would love for there to be a 'random thread link' that I easily repeatedly click, i.e. that would be on the new random thread. Sometimes the first random thread is pretty bleh.

Guess it's a topic covered previously, but I liked the directness of a Dear UT.

I don't know about Internet Explorer, but in SeaMonkey you can drag a link to the shortcut toolbar and you'll have that link available from anywhere.
