I am having a meltdown

I think I am insane.. or at least having a meltdown... I just cut off 8 inches off my hair, I am still hating it.. everything that move is not making me happy.. and the first place I go.. is here... so... Help?? maybe.. maybe kick me into reality... tell me to suck it up princess and get on with life... tell me I am being stupid, pat me on the back and tell me everything will be ok in the morning....

I don't know. I have officially lost it.....

Beestie 04-03-2009 11:18 PM

Your fine. Things are all over the place right now but when you wake up, they'll be right back where they were. Relax. Breathe.

Tiki 04-03-2009 11:59 PM

You can out-wait anything. I'm not kidding... Can you force yourself to go into bunker mode, and just hole up for a bit until you feel better?

zippyt 04-04-2009 12:04 AM

Things Could be worse , you Could be going thru THIS !!!!

Jaydaan 04-04-2009 12:05 AM

Bah.. I am not in tears...as much anymore, so thats good. Thank you both for the kind words.. they did help. I am working too much, and I have much higher expectations of clean in our house than my husband and son do.

I have been needing a change, and maybe tonight's meltdown was the change I needed. The hair..... EEEKKKKK! going to have to go to a hairdresser to fix this, I am afraid.. and bangs?? what the hell was I thinking... oh right I wasn't thinking SIGH!

You and my wife should get together.

No, scratch that. :speechls:

BigV 04-04-2009 12:43 AM

*sigh*

I'm glad the crisis has passed.

Offer stands, though.

Jaydaan 04-04-2009 09:44 AM

I don't melt down often, but last night was a good one... sigh.....

I am not usually a drama queen, but I think just saying I could not handle it on my own helped.
Thanks again

The hair cutting thing. I do that too. (Although I've never had eight inches of hair to cut) I wouldn't say I have a melt-down, but when I'm not happy with things I have to do something. I cut my hair and trim my beard up.

It's making a tangible, physical change to... symbolize other changes that you need to make or which would be made in your environment.

Glad you're feeling better. Get a stylist to shape up your new, shorter hair and you'll be a brand-new, fabulous person! Change is good.

Trilby 04-04-2009 10:27 AM

getting the hair cut is better than getting the Regrettable Tattoo.

:D

hang in, baby.

xoxoxoBruce 04-04-2009 11:28 AM

Take a picture of the haircut. You could post it here, but if you don't want to do that just squirrel it away for reference. Then when things seem to be building up you can whip out the picture and tell yourself;

Hey self, things aren't as bad as they were then and I got through that OK, so I can handle this shit like a walk in the park. And I've got my Cellar buddies, they'll remind me I can do this, and tell me to post a picture of my tits and shit. :lol2:

So there you go, make lemonade from those lemons, and we're always here.

Jaydaan 04-04-2009 06:40 PM

LOL the hair cut is actually GOOD!!!! I was complimented lots and lots today.. everyone loved it! 3 people I work in the same building as, didn't even recognize me this morning. I was told I look years younger... so maybe my meltdown was the catalyst I needed to change my years old style.

In fact, my hair was the one thing I could change then and there... and I did. I will take a picture tomorrow, (dressed) and I will have to get someone to talk me through posting it.

xoxoxoBruce 04-04-2009 06:56 PM

You go, girl. :thumb:

Tiki 04-04-2009 07:42 PM

That's awesome!

BigV 04-04-2009 08:01 PM

You're not dressed?
;)

I chop my hair off too when I go through stuff sometimes. And I will go from really LONG to really short. I hope I don't ever do that again, because I always regret it. I'm glad it has been a good experience for you though. ;)

And when things get bad, just try to remember, this too shall pass.

If you ever do chop off your long hair again, please remember to donate it to Locks of Love or someplace similar. The make wigs for kids with cancer etc.

Jaydaan 04-05-2009 10:11 PM

In my case, I could not... they want unprocessed hair only, and mine was so dry, with split ends and over processed it was no good. Its a great cause though, a friend of mine got donations for diabetes to cut his hair, then donated it. 2 causes one day.... :)

I've done that twice. It helps with the "Oh my god why did I do that!!??" feeling.

That's great Tiki. I'm sure you've made someone's life a little better!

The only reason I know about this is that one of the darlets has a friend who does this on a regular basis. Grows her hair out to the necessary length then chops it off and starts over. I think she's donated three times now.

Sheldonrs 04-06-2009 11:46 AM

suck it up princess

get on with life

You arebeing stupid

*pat on the back*

everything will be ok in the morning

There! Happy?!!! :)

Chocolatl 04-07-2009 07:05 AM

I had a "I feel like cutting my hair today" meltdown once, and asked my roommate (who claimed to have experience cutting hair) to do it for me. She was supposed to cut off about 2 inches. All of a sudden I heard a sharp gasp, and my repeated and increasingly frantic "Heather, what did you do!?"s were met with responses like "Nothing!" and "I can fix it!" Lo and behold, she had cut off about a 6 inch lock of hair right towards the front, so I ended up having to trim the rest of it to make it even. Turned out it actually looked kind of cute.

Glad to hear yours turned out okay! Can't wait to see it. :)

Trilby 04-07-2009 07:16 AM

When I saw Chocolatl's name up there with Meltdown...well, I had a sweet, gooey moment. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm - Chocolate Meltdown...............mmmmmmmmmmmm.

I can sympathize... except in my case a number of things that DON'T move can also get on my nerves.

BigV 04-10-2009 12:57 AM

I cut my hair too!
