Is Texas Taking Over the Cellar?
Where are you?
It's sure looking that way.
I do believe there is a strong Indiana/Illinois/Michigan/Ohio faction.
I killed a hobo
Hey! What about all the folks from New Mexico and Colorado? There were 4 of us last time I counted! :p

Sheldon, JuancoRocks, and lookout are all in arizona.
There's a strong Northwest contingent, but they've been quiet lately.
I think the T*ki bash mostly killed that off.
There're are at least 4 of us posting from across the pond.
yeah, but we don't count no for'ners in our honest to goodness polls.
that's "furreners" -- no apostrophe!
That's not true, they're all lumped under wetbacks. :lol2:
Actually, for the last couple of months, we've had several people a day signing up from India and Vietnam. |

Them Texans have sure gone quiet now. Are they worried we're about to start handing out yellow stars or something? (and not the shiny variety) :p
You weren't supposed to give away our plan Monnie!
I still think our highest concentration of dwellers are from still from PA. Of course the majority of dwellers are spread all over. The Texans have just come out of the wood-works to teach some non-Texans a lesson about our state. |
Maybe Texans are just louder and that makes it seem like they're taking over :P
Are people dyeing their hair taking over the cellar?
We Texans are sweet and gentle people. :) Hihi....:D We will only be aggressively vocal if you criticize us wrongly. Now, how much sugar would you like with your tea? :p Serious question, do Texans drink their tea with a pound of sugar in it, or is it just other southern states?

We only shoot if we are threatened. Anyways, I don't carry a gun, so you are wrong. My dad didn't let me learn how to use a gun. Doggonit, I really wanted to learn how to shoot a gun. :D

YEEEEEHAW! well, you asked! |

I know where I can learn to shoot and get guns. I also know where I can learn to ride a bull. I'll say no to those three options, but yes to another shot of cheap whiskey.
Girl, don't drink cheap whiskey.:headshake Drink fine liquor. :D If you drop by, I'll offer you some good cognac. Sorry, I drank all my cheap whiskey. Hahah....kidding...kidding. :p
I'll be sure to drop by if I'm down Houston way. If you end up the Dallas area, drop me a line, I'll get you some shooting and bull riding lessons.
I have to drink the cheap whiskey - atleast a shot or two - to show them country boys how its done. Otherwise, if someone else is buying, its top shelf only! ;) |
I'll think of you if I'm ever in the Dallas area. ;)
Them country boys are wusses, huh? Well then, you go girl! :D |
An MP5 would work in .40 S&W. Or 10mm for that matter. But it may be more capable -- longer range, flatter trajectory, less recoil than 10mm -- in .357 Sig. Louder, though.
Thar's a couple of us Floridians around.
A Texan majority in the cellar...it feels weird to be in the majority of something.

Anyone thinking the grass is greener someplace else is in BFE.
BFE?

British Forum for Ethnomusicology? Who knew!? :P
'BFE'It's one of the options in the poll! for crying out loud :p
I didn't vote in the poll:P And when i read the poll options I thought....'BFE? wtf?' :)
The stars at night, are big and bright...
:) I as well. I had to look it up. I didn't think anyone used that phrase anymore since the 80s in America. Proof that Monster has been assimilated if not a little behind. She is an American now.
nice one Jinx |

If you use acronyms, assume half the readers won't know what you're talking about.
BFE Base Flood Elevation Bandiest fur Energies (Switzerland) Biofeedback Foundation of Europe Bacterial Filtration Efficiency Buyer Furnished Equipment Battle for Europe (World War II game tournament) Brooklyn Funk Essentials (band) Bureau Francaise DE epilepsies BLACKER Front End Boyfriend Experience Boy Friend Experience Battle for Ender (Star Wars) Best Friend Ever Blowfish File Encryption (file extension) Beam Forming Electrode Built for Excellence Bum Freak Egypt (polite form) Bold Freehand Extrapolation (forecasting) Bachelor of Forest Engineering Board for Fundamental Education |
Ok that is just crazy.

I googled and I got the right answer too.
Bruce's mak'n stuff up @ Merc, Yes it's not a true statement if you love your country. |
Kiss my ass. :p And that was only the first page.
haha ok
That was my (KMA) Knowledge Monitoring Assessment. |
I voted for PA because my heart lies there, even though I currently reside in the great mistake of Texas.
I'm familiar with BFE, but I've always preferred BFI, since I am, y'know, in the US.
Where in the US? THE GREAT PACIFIC NORTHWEST!!! |

BFE was included for fun. "Anywhere else" is a much more boring option, and I like the "alliteration" of the abbreviations :p I figured those who don't know what it means are smart enough to google and we discussed it on here not so long ago. Plus it's not a real poll if you don't have to think about some of the options
See, though, the Texans are taking over ....if Brian wasn't fighting so hard the score'd be 7 to 6...... Those of us in the boonies (;)) just don't count..... |
I thought everyone knew what BFE was, overseas company excepted.
But of all Bruce's examples, this is my favorite: Bold Freehand Extrapolation. I don't know why, it makes me feel empowered. Grrr... |

It's the wife! She won't move to PA for any money. Apparently, it's too cold and damp for her bones or some such nonsense. Or she won't know anyone. Or there will be some Mexican-hater there. Or it's too far from her family. She's got every excuse in the world why she won't go there. We're trying to relocate to Dallas area now for the medical proximity for us both. Better doctors and hospitals you see. Some who even specialize in my conditions. I see it more as a stepping stone back home. If she can live there, she can live in Tennessee. If she can live THERE, she can live in Philly. I think she would like it there if she's only give it a try. It's not THAT humid or cold. No more than here, anyway. Sure, it rains more but then the sun comes out again. Humidity reigns in August but they make these de-humidifiers for houses that I would install. And air-conditioning is nearly universal, unlike here where it is still considered a novelty and extravagance. There is even a Mexican community so she can get a fix when she needs one. Maybe a few week long vacation will help her change her mind one summer. We'll see. Brian |
Ahhhh....I see, I see. :D A long vacation sounds like a good plan. ;)
