time to start up again

today i talked to a bud from the big P. good guy. like me he went in for bullshit. anyway he's living in my area and once again we are going to be workout partners. what my goal is for this thread is to record progress through fitness. i will take one pic weekly and post it here along with the workout that we evolve. no pic now. too damn tired. or too lazy. take your pick. but then again in saying that, that is the hardest thing to do! making workouts routine! once it's routine then you're golden. i might post a pic tonight. first workout is scheduled for wednesday. pic before then i promise.

xoxoxoBruce 01-11-2011 12:00 AM

Are you allowed to hang together?

sorta. but not really. he's still got 6 months left so technically no. but then again we won't be going out and causing any trouble. which is why ya know they tend to frown on the like hanging together. goin out and causing whatever trouble

I will be! Probably for a couple of hours before, too. I hope I can get a gym membership soon, actually. I have been wanting to get back in shape for some time, now.

plthijinx 01-11-2011 01:35 PM

great. motivation is grand!

Gravdigr 01-12-2011 12:00 PM

Damn, that looks like a boot camp photo if I've ever seen one.

:D

plthijinx 01-12-2011 03:59 PM

just keep at it mon!

lmao grvdr!

just got home from the gym. i can barely lift my arms and it's only going to get worse! lessee here. we started off with 25 lb dumb bells and did 4 sets of presses with those. then took 20 lb'ers and did 4 sets of butterflies then went to another room and put the rope handle on the curling machine set the pin at 60lbs i believe for 3 sets then lowered it to 40 and did reverse curls for 3 sets. after that it was the curling bar and bench where we took dumb bells and sat on the bench with arms resting on the front pad and did 2 different exercises with those for 3 sets. then took the actual curling bar, by now at 20 lbs, my arms were starting to give way to fatigue, and did 4 sets hands normal spacing and finally wide spacing. my forearms right now are burning from the typing here! tomorrow is back and legs i think. my workout partner used to be a trainer so i go by whatever he tells me.

monster 01-12-2011 09:24 PM

today I shovelled two shitloads of snow then figure skated for an hour.

Then I ate two shitload of bacon butties for lunch :D

plthijinx 01-12-2011 09:54 PM

that's a workout in itself. i don't care who ya are! that's funny right there!

me wants bacon.

Tulip 01-13-2011 11:40 AM

I need to get back into a routine myself too! Com'on people, let's all do it! :D

I've got the drum. ;)

plthijinx 01-13-2011 12:30 PM

lol, bruce!

i agree tulip! the gym i'm joining is a bit down 45 in texas city but my workout partner and trainer doesn't have a car so that pretty much narrows it down. this place is 100 bucks for 3 months or 300 for the year. not too bad. today's workout got 86'ed because louis had to go into work early. i don't mind though. i think my arms fell off last night while i was sleeping! :D

monster 01-13-2011 12:43 PM

My method of getting to the gym is that when I have the thought that I should go to the gym, I must get up and go immediately. I've trained myself so that my first thought when I wake up in the morning is to go to the gym.

Vicious cycle.

No.

Gravdigr 01-13-2011 03:15 PM

Unless you mean do it...then I'm in.

I'll bring my collar and everything.

:D

monster 01-13-2011 03:19 PM

I wented. I did a half hour on the elliptical (with arms), 10 minutes on the rowing machine, a couple of laps round the track and then a half mile in the pool. And my legs weren't even wobbly coming up the stairs. :D

plthijinx 01-16-2011 03:21 AM

workout for today? weights? no. cardio? plenty! rained at work. must've ran 3 miles in sprints total chasing idiots that can't drive go-karts in the rain and spun themselves out. you have to haul ass to get to them before they decide to get out of the kart on the track to prevent them from getting nailed by another go-kart and shattering their leg. or worse. safety. all about safety. i'm bushed! tomorrow? repeat of today. thank god it's only a 5.5 hour shift and not open to close.

xoxoxoBruce 01-16-2011 01:24 PM

You need roller skates, or a motorized skate board.;)

zippyt 01-16-2011 05:37 PM

motorized roller skates ,
What could POSSIBLY Go wrong !!!

plthijinx 01-17-2011 01:01 AM

ohhh break my neck! hell with it bring it! i'll whoop it myself and show it whose boss!

plthijinx 01-17-2011 01:04 AM

have to admit....can't afford the gym. going to mckgyver a weight set. lock up style. posts and pics to come....

plthijinx 01-18-2011 03:56 PM

maybe i won't have to mcgyver a weight set after all. if this interview hits a home run then i will be joining a gym.

then again i prolly sparked some curiosity so if i get enough requests i'll build it anyway.

xoxoxoBruce 01-19-2011 12:57 AM

You don't have to build it, just say how. ;)

plthijinx 01-19-2011 05:39 AM

it's an intricate process. nah really it's easy. water. lots of water. you take trash bags and fill them with however many gallons of water you need. 1 gallon of water = just over 8lbs. tie off and re-wrap the bag if you can otherwise use another trash bag for protection. put the water bag in a shirt that doesn't stretch, something like a doctor or nurses scrub shirt and tie it off at the base. then take a broom handle and run it through the sleeves. presto, you have a curling bar. now that is for the really heavy bags, like hundred pounders. to make lighter water bags put them in some sort of hand bag in my case we used commissary bags with a t-shirt for a handle and you have your one arm curls and reverse curls (or whatever that exercise is where you lift weights behind your back) or whatever exercise you can dream up. we had a lot of time on our hands. we dreamed up quite a few of 'em.

Tulip 01-19-2011 02:32 PM

It's been 6 days since I got hyped up about exercising but haven't done squat. Ugh! Not easy waking up at 5am or even 5:30... I don't hear no drums, Bruce. :D

Gravdigr: Funny.

xoxoxoBruce 01-19-2011 05:03 PM

Oh, I've been thinking of you and beating, couldn't you hear it?

plthijinx 01-19-2011 06:10 PM

WHOA! that wasn't a drum you were beating bruce!

i land this job? no jailhouse workout set for me. i'm in the gym. and you guys are goin' with me! har har har!

monster 01-19-2011 09:18 PM

I been exercising every day. cept friday. friday sucked, i tried to skate but was too late.

Tulip 01-22-2011 10:07 PM

Gloat, will ya? Well, you know what you gotta do now, PICTURES!!! :D

monster 01-23-2011 08:39 AM

nuh-huh.

kerosene 02-24-2011 01:14 PM

Well, in spite of the fact that I had chocolates for lunch one day last week, I have now lost 9 lbs in the past 3 weeks. Just changed my eating habits...counting calories and getting lots of protein and fiber. No sugar (except for the chocolate lunch) and cleaning someone's house every day makes a huge difference. It isn't like I am going hungry or anything, either. I think I just must have been eating a lot of junk for a while there.

Tulip 02-24-2011 01:29 PM

Yay!!!! Good for you, Kerosene! Good eating habits are so important. As for me, I gained 3 lbs. Doesn't help that I just ate 2 donuts. :o Okay, I'm gonna have to do some form of aerobic exercise later. :p:

Btw, Plthijinx, how's ur exercise coming along? Dude, show us some muscles. :D

kerosene 04-20-2011 02:50 PM

Thank you, Tulip!

I have now hit the 20 lb mark. Yay!

How's everyone else doing?

monster 04-20-2011 03:57 PM

That's excellent, well done. I'm gaining weight like a blubber monkey. I need spring to arrive and turn off my hibernation switch.

Pico and ME 04-20-2011 04:00 PM

Damn I know what you mean. Last week I thought it was turned off...we had some really nice sunny days, and I took several walks. But this week it's back to blechy blech. :yeldead:
