Giving up...
she's not coming back. I wanted her to be here so bad; and that is the only reason I came back. Yet, I know that someday she will see the words I have written for her...
So I guess I will just drink and watch, right Erica?? Why don't you just come back on here and call me a whore and a gutter rat. You know that is what you want to say to me. Make fun of my cigarette stained hands; as my flowers wilt away in the vase. Go ahead and survive on Daddy's money; and call me a 'rag picker' as I shop at the thrift stores... You never deserved me; and perhaps it was my fault. But, I wanted to stop lying to you; but you would have been dissapointed. I would also like to know who you were 'texting' the message 'I love you' to??? It was not my #; and it was not your mums... Take care forever, Pam.:sniff: |
Very nearly poetry, that.

Ironically, I know that when I came here, there was a poet named Emma. At times, I think it may have been Erica, but I can't be sure. I can just go on what i have been told. It may make sense if it were here; but then she would not tell...and I have searched for her here... if you put 100 strangers in a room, the drunk will seek out the drunk; and the depressed will seek out the depressed...etc., etc., Could my exlove be Emma??? Pam. |
or Sybil?

I did go through the archives and I can't find her. But another poster said it was Erica in disguise. i simply do not know...but that is why i initially came here and was upset... Pam. |

Breakfast of champions. |
So this toast and diet coke just ain't cutting it? It does have lemon curd on it....
|
ya know - lemon curd is good. It just sounds bad.
|
Marmalade is a terrible word too. They should just call them all jam.

I heard that story recently too. Very interesting, sad and interesting. |
The book and movie made a lot of money, but the resulting "therapy" ruined a lot of otherwise functional people's lives.
Still is. |
We call it lemon butter in our house. Sounds much nicer. ;)

Yeah, I make it from scratch here too. Much nicer than the stuff you buy from the shops.

Recipes, ladies, recipies!!!
|
Egg yolk, sugar, butter and lemons (or limes if you prefer). I'll have to get the quantities to you when I can be bothered getting my book out. ;)
|
I'll appreciate that, thanks! My friends and I love going to tea and have started making our own because our favorite teahouse got sold to an idiot who just went out of business.
|
I lost my recipe
|
There, there. You'll have that recipe again.
Never! bwaahaaahaaa |
Ohhhh NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
|
Sorry Clod.
I know you are our guru for everything else in the world. But you are wrong about marmalade. It's a gorgeous word! If I had a daughter I'd be tempted to call her Marmalade (as in Marmalade Atkins). Nothing wrong with Lemon Curd either. We used to sell Cheese Curd Tarts when I worked in Hampshires Bakery. Now that did sound wrong. |
Ohhhh. We just called 'em curd tarts in Bolton. Used to love those.
I agree on the Lemon Curd front: nowt wrong with that. Nor indeed marmalade. Marmalade Atkins rocked! I think Tracey Beaker is a little like a modern version of Marmalade. |
Yebbut she has a lame name.

(Actually I'm supporting Sundae, as the first thing I think of when I hear the word "marmalade" is poetry.)
(though, as a name, it makes me think of "Lady Marmalade".) |
Tangerine is better. :)
(as a word, as a name it sounds ghetto without this song as reference) |

Hap-Monk, I'd almost forgotten that one.
Thanks for the reminder. Infi-Monk, good point. I prefer marmalade as a word. But tangerine, satsuma, clementine as a comestible. Satsuma is my favourite of the lot, because it has such a distinctive sound in an East Midlands accent. Sat-sooom-AR Yes. I have been watching Misfits. And we have a Manc to replace the Northern Irelander. But it's still Simon I adore, I adore. |
|
The cover was better.
And I never thought I would write those words. |
Umm, no. It isn't.
But thanks for playing! Tell Sundae what she's won for being on the show. |

I have a certain animal magnetism. |
All I can really say is how amazed I am that a thread that started with a very, um...what's the word...wierd doesn't quite cover it...maybe if I added poignant. Yea a very weird and poignant....off beat, crazy post about unrequited something or other. This post lead to a deep and abiding discussion about marmalade and lemon butter.
I. Am. Amazed. |
Hey there RJ long time no post! Nostrovia! :)
|
I was hanging out with Erica.
