thankfully i don't do this very often, but thought occurred to me today to start a thread where when you fucked up and caught a pic of it.....well...here ya go. couldn't remember if a similar thread had been started so.....

this is from my bicycle fuck up yesterday....

Big Sarge 08-24-2012 01:21 AM

ouch!!!!

Sundae 08-24-2012 07:19 AM

Cheeses, Philth!
That's a spill for sure.

First time I spent the night with the man that probably should have been my husband, he had been knocked off his bike by a car.

I thought he was a real gentleman, turns out he was too tender to touch.

glatt 08-24-2012 07:26 AM

Double ouch.

Gravdigr 08-24-2012 09:04 AM

Heeeee's a bleeder!

plthijinx 08-24-2012 07:02 PM

lol all, yeah it looks worse than it is, as far as the cuts go....the inner bruising is what hurts the most. i took up on paul's offer of some of his meds. i went to sleep feeling no pain last night but when i woke up this morning, that was an entirely different story.

Nirvana 08-24-2012 08:09 PM

Ouch!

Griff 08-25-2012 09:11 AM

Nice one! (I'm a connoisseur of bike rashes.)

plthijinx 08-25-2012 02:12 PM

c'mon Griff, post'em up!

I put these up before, but back in 2006, I fucked up. Lately I've been minimizing damage to thorn scratches.

jimhelm 08-25-2012 05:27 PM

Aw, darn. I didna get a pic of my body surfing injury. And now its healed up on me.

Gravdigr 08-26-2012 02:19 PM

Cut m'self shaving.

Too much without warning.

DucksNuts 08-27-2012 01:22 AM

Here's Day 1 and Day 2 of a bruise I got when I stacked in the bathroom.

My arm was soooo swollen and sore.

Griff 08-27-2012 06:09 AM

oooo... nice one Ducks.

Clodfobble 08-27-2012 07:28 AM

"Got stacked in the bathroom?" Is that a euphemism?

Haha ...no euphemism, not an aussie either.

DucksNuts 08-27-2012 04:03 PM

No Grav!

YOUR!! .........With blood

Not some random gross image of a dude with something poking out of his face...we have other threads

Gravdigr 08-27-2012 04:13 PM

You are 100% correct.

Gravdigr 08-27-2012 04:13 PM

I was completely insensitive.

Gravdigr 08-27-2012 04:14 PM

I understand your disappoint.

Gravdigr 08-27-2012 04:20 PM

Would one of our kind moderators please remove the inappropriate image I posted in post #12 of this thread.

It is not me. I was not shaving. I have never bled, or been injured.

The post is a complete and utter lie.

It was posted with malice aforethought for the sole purpose of offending.

I understand that I was wrong, and I offer up my completely sincere apologies for such totally unnecessary, egregious action.

DucksNuts 08-27-2012 05:29 PM

Hahaha, I love how you respond to a dig with not just one, but four posts of more arseness.

My reaction would have differed...but...I understand that we all have different ways of dealing with confrontation and different expectations of thread content - I love a good thread drift as much as the next person.

Please, leave your thingie-hanging-out-of-somebodies-eye pic for others to enjoy. I'll just avoid this thread in future because I was looking forward to viewing some dwellar spills...but not really looking forward to viewing whatever gross shit can be found via google image search.

Actually, I would HATE to see a picture of a dwellar with a serious injury like that, and I apologise if that was your shaving incident several years ago.

Now don't go out and deliberately hurt yourself in the hopes of having a nice injury to show off in this thread.

Yeah, I'm gonna hurt myself to fit in with this bunch.

Incidentally, I did shave, a week ago. But, I can, and did, do so without injury. (Much)

I'm always hard when I 'get down w/myself'.

:p:

BigV 08-31-2012 12:09 PM

we got a thread for that too.

Razzmatazz13 09-03-2012 07:03 PM

Oh! Oh! I got one!

I call this "Battle scars of housewifery". An injury sustained by trying to unload the dishwasher.

http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l7...-23-41_761.jpg

xoxoxoBruce 09-03-2012 07:37 PM

Stitches? Why just pour a little bleach on it and keep working... you won't even notice it in a year or so. :haha:

Razzmatazz13 09-03-2012 07:46 PM

Stitches because it was pretty deep and on a joint, they didn't want me to be constantly re-opening it as it tried to heal. Oh, and did I mention the knife was serrated?

xoxoxoBruce 09-03-2012 07:52 PM

I know, just kidding ya. Cuts at the joint don't want to heal, so if they hadn't stitched it you could have a scar that would never let you close that finger properly.

Razzmatazz13 09-03-2012 08:02 PM

It's cool, I knew you were kidding. :D

I figured there was going to be an ER visit when I looked down and the inside of my finger reminded me of raw chicken meat... unfortunately for you all it's kind of hard to tell in the first picture because I took it *after* the local took effect and I couldn't straighten it all the way anymore.

Griff 09-03-2012 08:03 PM

Nice one. Yep, that'd never heal without stitches. You're actually lucky you didn't do serious damage!

Razzmatazz13 09-03-2012 08:14 PM

Griff, yeah I feel pretty lucky actually, I think the middle (ish) stitch ended up touching a nerve or something, it hurt way worse than any of the others when it got taken out and bled (the others didn't) ... plus I had some feeling loss for quite a while... it seems to be coming back though, which is great.

I was taking knives out of the dishwasher (in a hurry of course) and as I pulled them up they got caught on the plastic of the dishwasher and stopped... unfortunately my fist kept going. If you look, you can see my pinky got cut too, just not anywhere near as badly.

plthijinx 09-03-2012 08:36 PM

missed the duck bruise, that looked like it hurt like hell....

same with you Razz, freakin' ouch!!

BigV 09-04-2012 12:33 PM

owwwwwwwww.

I stack my cutlery handles up for just this reason.

:shiver: I hope you heal up quickly and completely.

Sundae 09-04-2012 01:06 PM

Oh baby that's horrid!

Now, draw a face on it to make it look like your finger is wearing a pretty collar.
And we can all tell you how sorry we are.

plthijinx 10-05-2012 11:26 AM

this is a forewarning of a pic i'm going to post sometime this afternoon. Here's what happened to my roommate....

On Wednesday Paul bought himself a new toy, a compound crossbow. He spent that evening assembling it, checking it out and just tinkering with it. Well yesterday he took it to the shooting range and it's my guess that he did this on the first shot.

when he shoots a rifle he has the habit of extending his thumb in an upward manner. yeeeeah. he did this with the crossbow too. that bowstring skinned half his thumb like skinning a catfish! the pic i'm going to post has his thumb folded back over "normal" but doesn't look anything like "normal". He is in surgery this morning to get it fixed but wow. just wow.

so anyway, consider yourself warned if you are squeamish or at work. i would post it now but have to way to re-size the photo to a postable size.

glatt 10-05-2012 11:32 AM

Poor Paul!

Big Sarge 10-05-2012 12:47 PM

OMG. Good luck Paul. I bet that hurt like MF'er

plthijinx 10-05-2012 01:16 PM

yeah Sarge, he's not a happy camper right now. he called and asked if i could leave work and come get him but i can't leave until i review some engineering standards. i asked him if he could "thumb" a ride home......he didn't find the humor in that for some reason.....

anyway.......here it is!

Big Sarge 10-05-2012 01:20 PM

that's terrible! i hope they give him some good pain meds

Sundae 10-05-2012 03:14 PM

Thanks for the warning - sadly I scrolled upwards so caught the photo before reading it.
Serves me right for coming into a thread with this title.

Poor bloody chap. Best wishes to him.

along with the meds he's still on for his back surgery, yeah, he's set!

he's home now, and in good spirits. i showed him the kitty pic i posted along with his thumbnail pic (get it? thumb? nail? ;) ) anyway, he got a laugh out of it. he's in good spirits and i'm making him laugh some so that's good. i've thrown a lot of puns at him so far and like i said, he's in good spirits.

ty Sundae, and i tried to warn! :)

glatt 10-05-2012 03:35 PM

I AM sorry about his finger. (thumb)

Griff 10-05-2012 03:54 PM

Oh shit.

ZenGum 10-05-2012 06:53 PM

I got as far as this...

Quote:

uh-ohhh.

Well, I'm sure it hurt, but it could have been a lot worse.

I'm puzzled as to how it happened. I assume Paul is right handed. The crossbow must be designed so that the trigger mechanism is forward of where the string is when fully cocked. Perhaps this is necessary for maximum power, or just a convenient layout, but it seems that a guard plate might be in order.

Hey, sue the suckers!

nah, he's ambidextrous. suing is not the answer.

Griff 10-05-2012 09:40 PM

It was his forward supporting hand that got hit, right? I tend to leave my thumb up on the front hand.

ZenGum 10-06-2012 04:05 AM

Okay, left hand trigger, right hand support ... thumb wandering about.

Pretty sure he'll never do that again.

Big Sarge 10-06-2012 03:38 PM

Is Paul better? Does he still have both thumbs?
