Depends on the job...Physically demanding? I'd prefer the five eight hour days. Handing receipts to the customers at the movie store? I'll take the four tens.

No, but I think I'm the primary caregiver for a sad Easter lily at The Shack. I give it a shot glass of water daily, and set it outside when it's warm and sunny enough.

1) If you had a 40 hour work week, would you prefer five 8-hour days or four 10-hour days? If we're already agreeing to flex-time, then I'm putting in for 3-4 hours a day for five days, then two 10-12 hour days.

4) Would you rather write a poem or sketch an animal? Sketch an animal, because I could just whip out something subpar and walk away. With a poem, I would instinctively want it to be good, and would spend way too long torturing myself to get it right.

5) Do you take any vitamin or mineral supplements? Calcium, vitamin D, and a thing called SleepThru that does what it says. In the transdermal department, I wear an iron/B-complex patch most days but especially right after my period, and a nicotine patch everyday. Not exactly a vitamin or mineral, but it's OTC and used therapeutically, so I'mma say it counts.

1) If you had a 40 hour work week, would you prefer five 8-hour days or four 10-hour days? I'll take the four tens. At our place, some people do weird stuff like three twelves and a four. There are off-shift bonuses, so some people are motivated to do that.

5) Do you take any vitamin or mineral supplements? No. Some people say there is a form of folic acid that may help the neuropathy, but I eat a royal tonne of romaine all the time, so I like to just imagine I am covered.

It's Rundgren's best work, and he was high the whole time.

And there's side one, done.

One of the things about great art is how it can be different every time, for you; you can notice little things you didn't notice before. It can be little or big. In a film, it can be little details they threw in that you never noticed. Or it can be the whole moral structure of the film.

This time I noticed the little. I always noticed that "Ballet For a Rainy Day" sounds like a rainy day. This is partly Rundgren's producing, at work. but how?! how does he do that? A lot of it is reverb; he strategically *drenches* the song in different kinds of echo.

And with cymbals. Big cymbal crashes have been thought of as "lightning" forever, but that's too obvious. Rundgren uses light tings on the ride cymbal, and reverbs them, so they feel like a shimmering puddle. (Use your imagination!)

And then, from 1:38 to 1:41, there are three CRASH cymbals that are recorded way down in the mix, and then reverbed out. These are on the beat, and today I heard them for the first time, suddenly it's obvious, loud and clear, as splashes in a puddle.

He has little tricks like this, all over the track. It's amazing!!

I'm into black and white film photography. I like taking pictures of Nature through the seasons, particularly trees.

Where do ya get the film?

There's a specialist camera shop and printing shop in my town where I can get them easily enough. The Boots chemists chain even sell them. I'm in the UK, maybe it's harder in the States, I don't know. I imagine you can get it on eBay or Amazon if you looked. I'm a member of a local darkroom so I can do the processing and printing myself.
