I really Don't Like Ricky Gervais but
I'm not sure why because he nails it every time. Maybe that's why. He ripped off my friend's artwork after being refused permission. And it was funny. This one isn't funny. He didn't ask my permission. But he ripped off my feelings. I just discovered After Life on Netflix. It's not sidesplitting funny. It's not even funny. How dare he, he's supposed to be a fucking comedian. Apparently it was one of UK Netflix' most watched of 2019 or something. That's how I found it.

We watched it through in grifftopia. It was one of the best things on tv.
|
ok it is funny a little bit ( :D) ...just hard to get over the other stuff
...vaginal yeast bread.... |
It was much more “adult” than I thought he was capable of, he surprised me.

I seem to remember seeing him being gratuitously crude on several occasions. Maybe I just caught him when he was out of good material; but, I lost interest and never regained it. I don't miss his style.
|
no. it was the gay animals thing
|
it was funny. I suspect it wasn't technically theft because although permission was refused, I think there's a public domain element. But I have to be seen to be supportive.... :D

Well I just binge-watched the whole lot instead of either writing my resume for my career counselling session immediately after work tomorrow morning or getting sleep to top up the maybe 10 hours I've had since Saturday. And I'm bawling. But that's no biggie because I don't think I've managed a day without crying since Beest's diagnosis four years ago. But maybe there's hope for me too. And I don't use a hammer when I threaten children. Now i just have to finish my resume and another task for my job session and get a solid 8 hours sleep before I get up in 5 hours. :D

Piece of cake.

I managed 2.5 hours but the resume got done

Never really got Gervais.
Because I don't really care for him, I pronounce his last name jer' viss. Just because. |
I enjoyed the Office with him in it and give him credit for that. His humor is more painful and uncomfortable than I normally like. I was skeptical about the US version of the show, but it really won me over and I came to love it. I think at the same time, the Michael Scott character became much less painful and more clown-like.

I saw a movie where he was a dentist and Greg Kinnear was a ghost.. Is that show a spin off?
|
The one monster started with is After Life. It's about a guy who loses his wife who was a really positive force in his life. It's pretty powerful and hits close to home.

savage, and I loved it
(About After Life) "That’s a show about a man who wants to kill himself because his wife dies of cancer and it’s still more fun than this,” Gervais said Sunday on the NBC broadcast. "OK spoiler alert, season two is on the way, so in the end obviously he didn’t kill himself just like Jeffrey Epstein," which drew some gasps and groans. "Shut up," Gervais interjected. "I know he's your friend, but I don't care." |
That was gold.
|
I liked him in Derek. He plays a mentally challenged man who works at a retirement home. It's all about gentleness and kindness, and as he says, "forgotten people." If you're on the fence about Gervais, you should check this out.
